  1. Pete let me know also if you need any help. I can donate some time and a little cash.
  2. Congrats on the new quad! Orange definately stands out.
  3. I am glad to see he is doing good! I was there and didn't get to meet the little guy. So what's he allowed to ride now, since they took the bike away?
  4. Well since we went out last night, we plan on packing and getting ready for Dumont! Already got my steak, bj, present, bj, beef jerky, oh and did I mention bj. LOL
  5. For sure! It has been down since Thanksgiving weekend. It seems I always wait til the last minute to fix things. Good thing I got my LTR to keep my mind off of it. Now I just have to make sure I don't neglect the quad and drive the rail all the time.
  6. UPDATE! I got a wild hair up my a$$ and when to the parts store at lunch and got the correct oil filter. Then ran by my house put it on, topped off the coolant and put the oil in. Drum roll please...... It fired right up! I did find one leak where I forgot to tighten the coolant return line on my turbo. Oops, but it is running and idling perfect. I guess my shade tree mechanical skills paid off. That and I had a service manual to help me re-build everything for the swap. :freakin_nuts:
  7. Well, I ended up taking the heads off of both motors on Sat to see if the pistons were different like someone had thought. The difference was so minor I decided to go ahead with the swap by putting my SOHC heads on the replacement block. Also saw what went out on my motor. The number 3 conecting rod bearing went out. the rod has signifigant play. I worked on it Sun and for a while last night (about 6 hours) here is how it sits as of last night. I would have fired it up but got the wrong oil filter while I was at the parts store. Woo hoo, should have it for this weekend as long as my shade tree mechanic skills are ok! Some pics...
  8. Tires look good Pete! I am dreading the day I have to buy mine! Can you spot me?
  9. I see that being her new avatar soon!
  10. Someone may know a little better and could chime in. I have always been advised to lower the car to where the flanges would be in line parallel to the ground. You will want to measure from the flange to flange and figure this to be the absolute longest they can be. Any longer and when your supension compresses the axles will destroy the flanges on the tranny. Does that make sense? I bet if Bert or anyone else sees this, they will give you the answer you are looking for. If all else fails, call the builder and ask them.
  11. You're crying about $1500. Wait til I have to replace them on the BDT! I think they are around $450 a tire! And I hate to say but it will be sometime soon. I am just glad they have lasted for as long as they did. I think I have had them on there for about three years now.
  12. I assume you mean to convert from my SOHC to the DOHC motor I have and tuning my ECM right? That isn't the main reason I chose to stay with the SOHC motor. I originally was just going to swap the heads, but found out the pistons more than likely have different clearance notches for the valves from SOHC to the DOHC heads. This info was straight from John at Outfront Motorsports. Also I have the modified intake for my SOHC motor which will not swap to the DOHC heads. That alone adds another $300 to the swap. Not only that but the low end torque the SOHC puts out at the same boost is higher than the DOHC. My motor was set up perfect for the amount of power I needed with my built 091 trans, so I would like to keep it that way. Does that make sense?
  13. I thought that too, but then thought why would I want a 2.0L when I already have a 2.5L?
  14. I have a Link computer on my car. Not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are looking for a good ECM Outfront (formerly Outback) and Metric Motors Xtreme both recommend the EMS Stinger.
  15. Started the tear down last night to fix the buggy. Got this far in about 3.5-4 hours. I will be pulling the motor tonight and possibly split the case to see how bad the rod bearing damage is. Hopefully it is not too bad. Started out like this... So far it looks like this after last night... I had purchased a replacement DOHC motor from a friend but after doing a lot of research it will take a lot more than I expected to swap from my SOHC motor to the DOHC. So if anyone wants a DOHC EJ25 2.5L Subaru motor let me know.
  16. Yeah, but we all know where the original PowerHouse is! Right here on DDR!
  17. I should be there. Have a meeting at the kids school or I would make the meeting with you guys too!
  18. Craig, If you need help, let me know. Here is the link to the page where you can find your kit. Comes with everything you need, wire and all. Dieselmanor-Dodge Gauge kits
  19. Not too bad to install if it is as easy as my Ford. Here are some install pics I found.. Gauge Installation Good price on the gauges with color matched pillar too! Check it out. I think it is where I bought my kit from when I installed mine.
  20. Same way I feel. Nothing new or creative. I bet we could go through it and see the same crap at least 10 times each. I tend to ignore it most of the time.
  21. I was wondering that too. Fast diagnosis without seeing it. Come on Paully you should know its never the first thing you think of, think back to mine and Ross's trucks! Could be turbo pedistal o-rings, hpop lines, oil crossover tube, valve cover gaskets, or even the rear main, etc. Never know til you actually trace it down yourself. Right?
  22. Sweet, congrats! I'm going there this weekend for a friend's birthday. It looks like it will be bad a$$!
  23. I have seen this car in person. It looks like a very well built car. Nice thick tubing and plenty of supports.
  24. Hey, you were doing pretty good out there on New Years. I think you could handle leading one. Just follow the nice long sweepers like I showed you. You'll do just fine. Just remember your bike has enough power and not be afraid to turn into the hill to stay on the side slopes. You can do it!
