  1. I know it is too late for this year, but what about going through AMA, CORVA etc? We ride the Hare Scramble season and all of the races rely on AMA insurance etc. to have the races. Some are even on BLM land. Everyone participating would need to buy an AMA card, about $36 but it is good for a year and supports the AMA anyway. Just a thought,
  2. We got there Saturday November 17 before lunch. Weekend before Thanksgiving. Saw the helicopter land, load a person, and then take the person back out. Pretty much looked like a fatality to us. Anyone have any more info?
  3. Me, my wife and kids, had just the left side of comp. We had been watching the cars and messing around between the cut and the left side of comp. We didn't even make it to the finger when the rangers went by. Little different timing and we could have been right in the middle of this. Condolences to the family and RIP fellow Duner.
  4. tec 3 with Honda 3.5 turbo. Be there for Thanksgiving again this year. Dan
  5. When trying to get the car out from being stuck, the main shaft, in the transmission, snapped cleanly between 3rd and 4th gear. Took a while to find the parts, but they are on the way and the car will be back on the sand. We just worked out work, and kids, to make it to Dumont for Thanksgiving. Second year in a row, so I guess it is now a tradition. The car missed the trip to Oregon and 2 trips to Pismo. Luckily, I love riding my quad too. See you all there soon.
  6. Sweet! me too, can't believe it held together after that landing.
  7. Hey there. Riding around Dumont, last trip, I managed to stick my rail on a small razorback that I didn't see in time. When we got it out, all seemed well, when I tried to shift into 4th, nothing. Nothing at all, no noise, no grinding, nothing. All the other gears are fine. No noise at all. I drove it for several other runs and everything seems fine, just nothing where 4th should be. I have pbs cable shift, but it seems like it is moving correctly??? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. I am in Northern Ca and if you know of someone up here that works on sand trans, please let me know. Heading to Oregon, for 2 weeks, late July so need to get her back on the road, or sand. Thanks, Dan
  8. We will be in Florence from July 27 to August 9. We are staying in one of the group sand sites off goose meadow staging area. Look us up. I can send you the spot if you like Dan and Amanda
  9. Florence is a blast, we go there every year late July early August. The dunes are much smaller than Dumont, but there are many types of terrain. You can do the beach, some decent hills, trails through the trees, find some cool ponds, jumps etc. Always great weather when it is hot at home. Happy to answer any questions you may have.
  10. The afternoon winds got old, but we got up earlier each day and had some epic riding. The stuff you remember all summer till next year.
  11. OUCH! Not too computer savvy, but I got it done. These shots are from my wife's go pro. Mostly following the new sand car. My son is also in some. Good times.
  12. Done for this season at Dumont. Heading to Oregon for 2 weeks late July and August. Trips to Pismo when we can. Wish we live closer to Dumont, we would be out there all the time, Dan
  13. We are back home, everything cleaned and put away. We had a great trip, got to meet a few of you, in person. Second hals of the trip, the wind came up every afternoon and confined us to our trailers. The mornings, unitl about 2pm, were awesome. the place was empty and we tried to cut fresh tracks on everything, every day. Looking forward to next time, maybe Thanksgiving. Dan and Amanda
  14. Hey there, the dog was found. She wandered into our camp the next morning with sore feet. I guess she just needed to walk around a bit. Thanks to all who helped us look for her. Got to meet a few of you down there, good times. Dan and Amanda
  15. We will be there late in the day on Wednesday. Staying until the 13th. Grey ford F-350 and a 40 foot next level 5th wheeler. decent size camp and a fast, red, LT turbocharged sand rail. Couple hot ladies and some fast quads. Stop by for a beer...
  16. Amanda and I will be there. We will be there late on the 4th and staying til the 13th. We have a group of about 5 6 families going. We usually stay between bathroom 10 and the finger near there. Grey ford F-350 and 40' Next level 5th wheel. Stop by to say hi.
  17. Sorry. Just realized I didn't include a price. We are looking to get $8350. No BS price. Asking more on Craigslist etc. Also, We put new tires on it last year. It is ready to go. I have better pics if you are interested. Thanks, Dan
  18. Hello all, We are selling our 16' stacker trailer. It has a 12' lift, 58 gallon fuel tank, queen bed that comes down and it is in great condition. We hauled a LT sand rail up top, with 4 quads on the bottom. It is 20' overall length. 10K GVW. I believe the empty weight is not more than 4K. It is a great trailer, but of course, we moved on to another. It has it's own battery so the lights and fuel pump work without being plugged into the tow vehicle. It has 2 halogen lights that are 110 and the lift is 110. Dan 925-518-4808
  19. Thanks. I will try to figure out how to upload pics of the car.
  20. Hey guys, new to this site but been going to Dumont for about 5 years. A group of us are heading down April 4 to April 13. I have a LT honda turbo making it's first trip to Dumont. I have had other rails before, but this one is dang nice. Anyway, stop by and say hello, have a beer and put some faces to names. Dan
