Join the Friends of Dumont Dunes in honoring our great Dumont Dunes Veterans! 4th Annual Dumont Dunes Veterans Day Flag Parade Cruise and Gathering πΊπ² ππππππππππππππππ Everyone will line up on the west side of the Vendors Row starting at 9:30 AM. Decorate your vehicles in American flags or red, white and blue. Wear your red, white and blue, show how proud you are for our Veterans. Kiddos are welcome to join the parade on their quads, dirt bikes and mini sxs's πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ² At 10:00 AM, they will play the national anthem πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ²πΊπ² and when that is complete, whoever the Star Spangled Banner playing leader is, will then start the parade cruise around the front of the Vendors Row since they can no longer drive down Vendors and they will cruise the route through the camp area and over the one dune to the flats over by Veterans Hill. (The speed will be based on the youngest rider) There they will begin to gather everyone. The agenda: β’ Take down the flag, if it is not acceptable and raise a new flag to replace it. β’ Have the Veterans in attendance join in front of the group. β’ Hand out any little flags to the kiddos β’ Moment of silence β’ Pledge of allegiance β’ Present Veterans with a token of our appreciation. β’ Ask the Veterans if they are comfortable talking about their service, even if it's just a few words to say their branch and years or any stories/experiences they wish to share. β’ Patriotic music mix while we visit and hang out. Join the conversation on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/rNFMKJ4siZBntWSB/

In case you haven't heard yet, season and weekly passes have not been sent out to vendors yet. We will update the passes page as soon as the vendors receive the passes. BLM is running late this year. In the meantime you can purchase your pass online at https://www.recreation.gov/activitypass/e210305d-b769-11eb-87ed-16dbf55c498d

Thanksgiving is right around the corner! It is a week-long dune trip for some groups when friends and families gather at the dunes to prepare their annual feasts. If you are wondering how busy it gets, Thanksgiving does draw quite a crowd, but it's not quite as crazy as Halloween. Catch the waterpumpers in action as the Dune Masters and Sand Pipers clubs compete in their 54th annual hill climbs and drag races. Friday: Drags on the back sand highway starting at 10:00 AM Saturday: Hill Climbs on the steep, left side of Comp Hill starting at 10:00 AM And don't forget, Santa will be at the North Pole on that Saturday 11/30 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM hard stop. Details to come. Stay up to date on the Dumont Dunes Santa Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/144674787256195/?mibextid=oMANbw

Our 12th Annual Buggy Roundup is December 12-15, 2024. Have you got a buggy? Come out and join us to camp, hang, and run the dunes together. This is not a big party weekend. It's actually pretty chill. But if you love buggies and want to get together with the rest of the buggies of Dumont, this is the weekend for that. Everyone is always super cool and respectful. If they aren't, they'll be asked to leave and won't be invited back. We hope to see all the regulars plus some new faces this year! "Schedule" Thursday: Get there early, meet the early arrivals, and go make some tracks in the sand Friday: Run the dunes and burn some fuel! Saturday: Sandcars & Coffee 8AM-9:30- Park your buggy in the center of camp. (Many guys do it the night before). Grab a coffee, wake up, mingle with other buggy people. 10AM group ride: We will do a group ride with ALL the buggies ending someplace like North Pole, Comp or whatever feels right. Grab yourself some lunch. 1PM We will raffle off some prizes The rest of the day will be more duning finishing the last ride on Sunset Hill. Saturday Night: group bonfire, possibly dune videos on the big screen Sunday: Pick the sand out of your ears, go for another morning dune run, and then pack it up when you feel like it (or stay another day to enjoy Dumont some more) LOG IN & RSVP on the EVENT PAGE link below (If you have trouble logging in or can't figure it out, it's cool. Just show up. You can also message me, @dunefreak or DM Dumont Dune Riders on FB or IG) FORUM DISCUSSION

FYI, for those in Pahrump or driving through and hoping to get passes. Parker's Kawasaki is no longer selling any passes.

We arrived Thursday afternoon and left Sunday afternoon. You can definitely tell the difference between the "old school" dune-crew and the new breed of "spoiled, entitled brats" when you are out in the dunes. I won't even go into the whole trash left behind in the camps or the stops in the dunes. We spent almost as much time driving as we did picking up trash in the dunes. Some people really need to learn the whole "Pack-It-In-Pack-More-Out" rule. Our group for the most part will only be making day trips for the big weekends to support the vendors and other events. The comfortable friendly feeling seems to be there on the off weekends.

Thank you so much for this info. We have been going to Dumont for years up until the Hurricane. I was under the impression that the Little Dunes got totally wiped out. This is fantastic news. So there is not much change from the Hurricane coming through? Thank you!

I have one of these gears that I purchased at $129 for my Lippert Happijac bed lift (2013 Attitude 34β) that ended up not being needed once disassembled. My issue ended up being the horizontal chains across the top that attach to the gears for the vertical lift rails. The horizontal chains were SO loose from the factory, which do not have any adjustment on them, allowing them to skip on the gear causing the bed to get out of wack on each corner. I made a set of chain tensioners and adjusted the vertical chains to ensure the issue was resolved. When I find some time I will do a thread on my issue vs the gear failure issue. Once apart I realized my gear from the factory was already an aluminum gear. (See pic of far right gear in GB) With that said, I no longer need the gear I purchased and will sell it for $75 to the first buyer. My recommendation, if you are having an issue is to pull the motor and gearbox first as to ensure it fits your model as there seemed to be a slight differences in this gear and mine without removing mine from the shaft. (Same size and # of teeth but mine looks to not have the keyway running completely through the gear. May still have worked but did not want to disassemble my good gearbox any further than needed. Lots more pics available that I will try and put together in another thread and come back here to update with a shortcut. Tozlakes

2011 Polaris XP 900LE One owner XP 900. This thing is in great shape and never abused. Iβve never had any issues with it and have always used Polaris oil and filter. It only has 2411 miles on it and it has the original belt! You read that right, I have NEVER changed the belt. It has the stock cage that has been lowered in the rear and seatbelt bar welded in. Cage was powder coated red and custom aluminum roof added. Here are a list of items done to it. BS Sand race seats Simpson 5 point belts Dragonfire wheel with quick release Switch plate on dash SSV Works overhead stereo Axia rear view mirror K&N filter- inner and outer Gibson slip on exhaust Tusk trunk bag Lighted whip Doors DWT black rims with Maxis Bighorns 26x9-12 front 26x12-12 rear DWT sand Doonz tire set 25.5x11-12 front 25.5x13-12 rear It sits 70inch wide on the front and 72.5inch wide on the rear with the offset rims. If you need it narrower you could put stock rims back on it. This thing has normal wear and tear, but it is in really good condition for its age. It has a newer battery and is hooked up to a battery tender. I think I still have the stock seats for it as well. It runs amazing and is still a super fun time. Iβm not looking for trades. If you have any questions CALL ME!! Pink in hand and current sticker, $12,500 OBO. 559 840 7780.

Halloween weekend kicks off the upcoming dune season at Dumont Dunes! Although Halloween is Thursday the 31st, Halloween weekend at Dumont will be celebrated the weekend before on Oct 25-27th. Saturday Oct 26th, is the night you'll find trick-or-treaters going camp to camp and duners in costume over at Comp Hill having a good time. In addition, Friends of Dumont Dunes has announced a trunk or treat from 4:00-6:00PM on Saturday just west of Vendor Row. Halloween weekend always brings out thousands of excited duners which means we always have to take a little extra caution. Keep your head on a swivel but most importantly slow down around camps and other duners. Holiday weekends can be a little crazy and chaotic, but also safe and fun at the same time.
