The faster you go the better it is................lol. Im sure there are some people on here that remember the old days of the Dumont road sand traps and dips one lane. That was part of the adventure of going to Dumont. So I think the road these days are great.

yep that was me.... one morning on a very busy weekend i woke up to a blue heeler sitting in my rhino.... so i drove around with the dog and got lucky.. i found the little girl looking for her dog.. another time we were riding our bikes down the canyon and came up on 2 dogs... we kept calling them to follow us... and right when i was going to start going camp to camp a guy rode up to us asking if we seen 2 dogs.... i was going to take them home and call the owners.. they had tags with numbers .. i think ill change my s/n to dogcatcher or something.... i just hope other people would do the same for me if i ever let my dogs out of my sight... which i never do..

ACTUALLY IT WAS AOG 9TH...LACK OF SLEEP SORRY

ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING ME AND MY HUSBAND WERE OUT RHINOING THIS SATURDAY AUG 8TH AND SEEN 2 DOGS RUNNING ON THE DUNES.....WE TRIED TO CATCH THEM BUT COULDNT... SO MY HUSBAND KEPT AN EYE ON THEM AS I WENT CAMP TO CAMP LOOKING FOR THE OWNERS... I FOUND THEM BY THE ENTRANCE TO COMP... THE DOGS WERE OUT BY BATHROOM 3... I TOOK HIS SON IN MY RHINO TO THE DOGS AND GAVE THEM ALL A RIDE BACK... I WAS ALITTLE CONFUSED... HE SEEMED TO BE LOADING UP AS IF THEY WERE LEAVING?? IF MY DOGS RAN OFF ID BE OUT LOOKING FOR THEM TILL I FOUND THEM.. HE SAID IT WAS HIS FIRST TIME OUT THERE.. HE DID THANK ME .. AND I WENT ON MY WAY.... I JUST WISH PEOPLE WOULD PUT COLLARS WITH NAMES AND NUMBERS ON THEIR DOGS..AND MAYBE KEEP THEM ON A LEASH.. THIS IS THE FORTH TIME IN THE LAST FEW YEARS WE HAVE REUNITED DOGS WITH THEIR OWNERS AND ID DO IT AGAIN.. P.S. TO THOSE GUYS THAT HELPED US WITH THE RHINO ROLL OVER.. ... THANKS A MILLION.. WE BOTH HAVE BEEN DUNING 30 YEARS... IT DIDNT LOOK LIKE IT THIS MORNING..LOLOL

I have been going to Dumont for more than 30 years, it's not like the old days of no rules or Rangers to enforce them. There aren't really that many to follow but, not having lights at night is just dumb even if you are on a lighted hill. I watched several close calls at the top and along the side trail. I think it is a great event and a lot of fun, maybe in the future if at night" no lights no run"I would think there would be some kind of liability to who ever promoted the event, if someone got hurt.?? Does anyone have to get a permit for this event?

We have been following the thread on the Drags and decided to go and had a great time. The weather was great for August and the sand was smooth and soft.not like the floor we slept on (dam wish our toyhauler was fixed) Had some good Rhino rides well one had a little rollover. Thanks to the guys that helped roll it back over. Helped some people get their dogs back...if you bring your dogs keep an eye on them.... I thought there was a lot of trash out on the dune more than normal...we pick up what we can. Had a good laugh at the lady that pee'd on her foot at the South Pole.....lol

I have had my Debit card copied from the gas pumps. It's just a pain in the a$$ to get everything change.

I know for me I would get the SxS. Unless you are buying a longtravel buggy anything less is just no fun at the dunes. We have 2 Rhinos and use them at the dunes, desert, mountians you really cant do that with a buggy.

We will be in Caliente for the Groundshakers MC race. Great time pick a shade tree along the creek and watch them race trough the water.

The problem I see with the streetbike motors and snowmobile swaps they would only be good one place the dunes, if thats all you do then it would be great. The Rotax swap is a great all around motor.

I still miss the road from the early days sand traps, potholes and you were lucky to hit 25mph....................lol

We will be there on the hill Sunday watching the Pro race. It is great racing top riders.

what if blm handed out orange trash bags to the people that wanted to help keep dumont clean.. and blm provided a trash bin to carry all the trash out.. rather than putting dumpsters for everyone to dump their trash in
