Well I'm not sure how appropriate this is but I decided to go to Glamis instead. It was really packed but it has a totally different rhythm than Dumont. The crowd seems to move from one end to the other and if you can't follow you get left behind. The sand drags shut down right at sunset which I thought was odd since Dumont doesn't shut down until people collapse.. lol Food is better, and you can get anything but gas out there. Still Dumont is more focused and Comp hill Dumont is MUCH bigger than Oldsmobile hill Glamis. I nearly made it up Olds hill with my little truck. I couldn't even get half way up Comp at Dumont. Got video of course... EDIT part 2 is ready....

So the crowd should be there the weekend of the 14th? Sucks about the jeeps I used to like watching those. This pic was in 2006/2007 right after I got the blower working.

Is there going to be any special events for presidents day weekend like Jeep racing or what-not? Also what weekend should I go out if want to catch the big crowd? I missed the crowd for newyears by going the wrong weekend. For me the busier the better, I love the controlled chaos.

Damn where are the rangers when you need them? They got me once for having red lights inside the eyes of my punisher skull, apparently that means I am impersonating a cop, but this shrek car seems to be a reoccurring danger to the whole dunes and they keep coming?

I forgot to mention the vibration from the choppy sand tore my intake boot in half, engine died instantly. I had no duct tape with me! I ziptied some plastic on it and limped to vender row to buy some. Lesson learned, ALWAYS bring duct tape. At least if you are driving an eleven year old Nissan.

Dang Pete that Gopro takes awesome pictures! Are you tweaking them in photoshop or something? Very nice! I'll guess I'll post mine here. I went out the weekend after New Years, I probably should have went the weekend before because it was dead. I was alone waiting for the crowd at comp hill Saturday night until 8pm then one camp came out and politely hijacked my campfire. I was totally fine with that at least someone showed up. Pics and vids. I'm sooo sorry about the music Pete, I'm old! I know how much you love 80s heavy metal.. ha ha.

Yea I like Vimeo. I sold everything though. I sold the big camera to a company that makes commercials for Casinos. You might be seeing video from my old camera when you see an Ad for a buffett or something... LOL EDIT: oh and good to see you guys still go to Dumont Pete!

NICE stuck pic! All four wheels! lol.. I was getting harassed by youtube for all the music and just deleted the whole channel. I don't even own a bike anymore. I haven't been to Dumont in 3 years I think? I finally fixed my little 2wd Frontier up so I could at least go to comp hill and watch and stuff like that. Before I modded the truck it couldn't even make it over the hump to get to Banshee hill. Now it can get to the top of Banshee Hill so I'm happy with that. Also I am getting a High Lift Jack with the wheel lift attachment so if I ever get stuck again I will be able to get myself out without any help hopefully! Here is another angle on my stuck pic!

Ha looks like we weren't the only ones that got stuck that weekend. Looks eerily similar.

This is all I got. I was out trying out the truck in the sand. It was good to see everyone again.

Are you guys talking about two different wrecks? The crash on comp hill saturday was a sandrail and a qaud, Definitely not an SUV. I rode right up to the hill.
