The Stogots car, which is all new because of a crash in May of this year, new arms, new panels, new powder, same frame, weighs more in the neighborhood of 3500+/- lbs. As for the HP numbers, who knows, but I'd like some of the Joe Duner action, another $500 on the Funco to the North pole and back???? Regardless if a race ever happens, it's more fun to talk smack in person then on a keyboard.....See you at the hill.....

Looking for recommendations on a brake controller and install. Anybody have opinions on what's good out there and what's bad? I have heard it is semi-pre wired. The wires are there, just have to find them and connect under dash and under hood. Not as easy as the last 2001 Suburban plug and play. Anyone heard of any deals on installation, like a "Buy it here and we will install for $20" or anything similar? Thanks.... :xmas4:

I stopped at Valero Wed night before T-Day, wanted season pass, they didn't have them, bought weekend pass just in case to have one in hand. Went to the BLM trailer Sunday morning, they applied that $40 towards season pass no hassle at all. Give BLM a chance before you get worked up about fees. Seems they haven't done us wrong yet have they? Well OK there is the entrance road thing, the lack of enforcement by LEO's, this could go on and on. Anyway, they seem to be doing the right thing on the fees, but get it resolved quickly, don't wait untill new years to try and recoup your money.

Daughter is cheering for her high school, Football every Friday night right now, son is playing soccer and football every Saturday, I'm thinking of buying some land near Jodi and joining JVR.com (Johnson Valley Riders). Yep, hence the site Dumont Dune Riders. I definately wouldn't buy a Funco to go the desert and pound on it. I would consider cars like the Monster Rails, Trick Racing and others. But I love the Dunes!!!! :shocked2: JD, don't limit yourself to the dunes, check out these other sections on DDR; "General Chat- Dunes talk and anything on your mind" "Other dunes and riding spots" "Wet spots" There is more to DDR than meets the eye...... :mc_smiley:

Joe, my Ragen' came with Maxxis tires which have a 5 year warranty. I have not had any issues with the tires so haven't needed the warranty, but I thought that was pretty decent. Tows great for a heavy trailer. Def worth looking into.....

Bob, you should stop by and see Tony's new car, will most likely be at the Sand Sport Show coming up, definetely not a sand car. Joe and Tim have driven some quality cars, if any body needs an opinion they are pretty well versed, and like they say, for the sand the Funco is the bomb. I keep razzing Ron about the video on the web, just doesn't do his car justice. Stop by and say hi to Ron at the Sand Sport Show, he's a hell of a nice guy, took him out to the June night ride, looks like he will participate with us DDR guys, does some fab work when needed, always has Monster drinks with him, and keep in mind those farm toy accessories!!!!

Keep in mind as the Funco video states loud and clear "Funco's are at home in the sand". Some of the new Monster Rail Chasis would be rather nice for a short course or full Baja action. Each car has strengths and weakness', just another choice when comparing apples and oranges....

Just got back, the road in SUCKS. OGP, Don 29 Palms are more like mid C-8. Quite a few setting up by RR #6 as well. Can't go wrong either place. A little bit of wind, but nothing to worry about. May need goggles for standing around camp. OGP said it blew pretty hard last night. Banshee hill is smooth, comp has some rollers up towards the top. They could be hairy if your not ready. Everyone be safe and let's have a great time........
