  1. Bingo!! I just picked up my new rhino and asked the dealer, and if you are out of state, you can get a permit (single sticker) for like $30. My stuff is in state and comes with two stickers. Damn, that rhino is sweet
  2. That is a good reason. I live 15 minutes from Sand Hollow. Before the lake, duning was free. Now the state charges access fee and blocked any other route and we don't get anything in return. I do now some back ways in but they will ticket if they catch you, so when I have gone, I've paid the ransom. I have a boat and would go there if not for the fact I like boating at Quail better. less jet skis and trout are catchable at Quail. Small mouth bass and blue gill at Sand Hollow and maybe some catfish. Water is too warm for trout. I have to say, because I live in Utah, I get two stickers, and the instructions called for visable front and rear. I place them under the fenders of my raptors. I will see what goes now with my new Rhino I pick up in two hours. I wil lcertainily visit this issue here again with what I find out for the rhino.
  3. Is the utah sticker in conjunction with your out of state registration? BTW, Sand Hollow has been a rip off since they oepned Go to Corral Pink. No fee, better sand and trails.
  4. Utah requires two stickers and issues them as such. The directions on how and where to apply them come with the registration. On my raptors, they are under the fenders left side front, right side rear and visable on the trailer regardless of orientation. Utah does recognize out of state stickers until you formally take up residence here, then you must get all vehicles registered in state.
  5. Thank you. I seemed to mistakenly remembered you could not get a week pass to far in advance. I am going to stop in Baker next Friday on my to the coast and plan to purchase 4 or 5 passes for the members of my party coming Pres weekend. I can have their names written on the passes. I hope they will sell them to me. If all else fails, Friday at the ranger station it will be.
  6. Thank you, BS. I may do that if nothing else. I would be happy to p/u the Pres Day week pass next week if they are available anywhere in Vegas or Baker. Next week I'll be in a sports car so easy to get around. If no one is there on friday of that weekend, I'll do what you suggest in my new 08 rhino. I look forward to meeting you and Kit Katt. I have followed your posts with envy about your new rhino.
  7. I'm a little confused as to when I can bypass a stop in vegas on my way to Pres day Dumont weekend. I will be there Friday early and don't know if someone will be there to collect my $40 or if I can get it in advance for that weekend by going to Vegas next weekend on my way to calif to visit family and pick it up on the way that far in advance of the weekend I'm going. Seems I read here you can only get the pass for the weekend you will be there by buying that week only. I'm I missing something here? Trying to get it in Baker on a major holiday won't be easy with the train of gear I pull.
  8. XPL 69 and XC 10-150 chain. Ship to 84780. Can you get a quote for me?
  9. Thay would steal that first. :freakin_nuts:
  10. Great help. Thanks to all for good info. I checked with a so called Xena dealer here and he said he would order what I need. He also mentioned that gorilla has a motion alarm to mount to a Rhino. about $120. I think the solution that Cmyfirepole gave is where I will go. Chains and motion lock that I can hook up to not just my sand toys but my harley too when I go on overnight runs. Where can I get pricing on chain and lock the 69 model?
  11. What ATV vehicles are you going to use those on? I need a model number for fitting to a 06 raptor and 08 Rhino.
  12. KitKatt, Easter weekend is the best time for Sand Mountain. It will remind you of Dumont for activities. Has well water spickets located in variuos places. I live in St. George and dune there often. The comp hill is higher than dumont. summers are hot. We go to the mountains in the summer or corral pink. Bring your new rhino. I just ordered mine. Midnight warrior. Will be at Dumont Pres day.
  13. Go to Cedar City. They will treat you right. The owner was former GM of St George store and left because of poor service and bad upper management decisions. Plus they are family. You will get agood deal and they will back it up with good service. They will even deliver it to you in Vegas.
  14. ATV Action mag has just released the test of the RZR SXS from Polaris with subtitle "Smokes the Rhino" Fuel injected 800CC 60+ MPH . I'll have one before the Rhino unless they can come up with a RZR eater by Oct. Check it out, and MSRP $9999 with plenty of after market bling to add to it right out the door.
  15. I am 6'2" and 210 and have duned on some of the fastest 4 strokes ,YFZ's , and the new zuki, 450r's stroked poked and modded. I am most pleased with my 700 raptor. It's not stock, its not the fastest, but it keeps up with every quad I just taked about. The front end stays down and I can open it up fast on the dunes without it bucking me off. I really suggest for your size you give the 700 raptor serious consideration. Electric start, efi, and reverse are nice to have. By the way, when I place my grandsons on my raptor and they race against those other 450's, it wins. The only thing that gives it a run is modded 450r built to 520. all 450's come up off the line front wheels up unless you sit way forward, and for our size, that is not comfortable. Try a new raptor 700. you may be very surprized.
  16. The best tool online for identifying the location for this weekends happiness. Thank you Dunefreak.
  17. This is pure BS, and typical of californicating law enfrocers. Anything to bring in revenue to the lazy butts that sit around waitng for a crash to respond to. In Utah, a kid 8 years old can take and pass a safe riding course. With that,a child can ride anywhere we do, ALONE. First time I or my kids get fined for not being with trained and experienced safe riding kids we have, I will go postal on the rat that tries to ruin my weekend with my grandkids. iThs the biggest bunch of crap I have heard of on this site. Thanks for the update. Sand mountain and coral pink are looking better all the time. Other than that rant,..................... MERRY CHRISTMAS, all you Duners!!!!!!
  18. My friends pull a 40ft warrior 5th wheel with a maxicab. In it he hauls 5 quads, and a rhino. Your truck can do that and more. Never underestimate a Dodge, Cummins powered, especially a new one. You and your husband made a fine choice. Chip the truck, and you can get 500HP +, but you may never need it. slider fifth wheel and you can go anywhere. Don't worry about size of your toyhauler choice based on the truck you purchased. I have a longbed 06 cummins with 6 speed and have hooked a 23ft trler with a rhino and six atvs tied behind my 28ft wildcat and run 80 mph from here to sand mountain north of Delta Utah. No problem with the truck AT ALL!! If you go with a smaller toyhauler, you will always want one larger. Get a 37 ft Dune Chaser or 40 ft weekend warrior or freestyle and you will have 10 years of pure joy on every kind of trip you want to take. I am really happy to see you guys buy that Dodge. Your gunna love going places. I sure love mine.
  19. Thank You. I'll sleep better knowing that. I watched life flight take the rail accident person away. Glad that there is such close and good reponse at Dumont. I'm looking forward to Prez day. Gotta get swag next time. All I have this trip are good memories and some nice pictures. I know what to expect now. I did find out how to get a truck trailer and quad hauler stuck in front of vendor row. This trip will cost me a new clutch in my new dodge. I will be in 4 wheel drive BEFORE I get to vendor row next time.
  20. Please say that didn't hapen. This was my first time at Dumont, and I perched on that lip in prep to run my raptor when a buggy flew airborn right next to me. I wad completely caught off guard and decided to watch from farther away. I got behind some buggies that where 3 rows back and I watched them take off and launch, getting a head of steam up to go off that lip and then spank that hill. I can sure see how something like that could happen, but that wouldn't be an accident. That would be vehicular manslaughter. There has not been any chatter about that. in camp or on the dunes. I love seeing the rails compete and do there ballet on the side of the hill, wheeling across the face, but it looked awfully dangerous with the mix of young children (like my grandsons racing their 450's up the hill) . Many rails looked like that had competent and conscirmnce drivers. And some I woulsd say shouldn't have been driving at all.. Just a thought, couldn't a set time be made available for sand rails and a set time for quads and bikes? I'm sure the buggy drivers would like to have the hill to themselves for some good runs, without worrying about a child getting in front of them. Just seems comp hill needs a diffferent approuch than sharing the rest of the dunes for bowling and jumps.
  21. Tracy Day was his name. He was a talented and wonderful addition to his family. Alcohol was not part of it at all. Just a bad accident. Here is the link to obit. http://thespectrum.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic.../611150304/1023
  22. I'm new here but if you don't mind, let me tell you another reason this man may have died. When he hit the berm, it flipped him and the quad landed on his chest. It might not have been this bad if he was wearing a chest protector, do you think? He was my bosses neighbors grandson. The family is devastated. I have never been to Dumont Dunes. I will be there Thanksgiving weekend. I ride at Coral Pink and sand mountain. In our camp are young riders who dig out jumps. Thank you all for advising me of this danger. If a dig is made in my camp, I will personnly fill it in before we break camp. We do circle our group quite tight, so random riders should not be running through, but there will be no residue when we leave. Oh, BTW, I do not believe alcohol was involved either, but that is because I know the family. I wasn't there obviously, but I will question that call tommorow.
