The tournament was yesterday and it was a blast! Fun times drunk driving on the golf course with the girls. We raised about $8,000 for the 2 scholarships that we run. Good Times once again-- I need to remember to turn off that damn date stamp on the camera.

Bob- Your car look lonely sitting in the corner of the lot with the toppled over chairs!
-
true dat! Getting ready to leave here in an hour or so. Camera in hand!! 4 of the girls went out and bought golf outfits. Can't wait to see that!

It's nothing really to look at. Looks the same as it did when I first got it. I will post pics later this week when its sitting on the golf course and I have 6 hotties in it!!!

I prefer the motorhome over the toyhauler. If the weather turns bad out there you have to park your toy where you sleep. Plus I don't want where I eat and sleep to smell like a car of grease/gas. But its all in your preference.

Looks like Chevy is getting into the megacab like dodge. Did the drivers see you taking the pictures? Usually they will try to avoid being photographed but when towing a trialer that makes it a bit harder. Guess we have to wait till next year to see if it makes it into production. When I was working at Ford we had a car come into the dealership with an A/C problem and was one of the test vehicles. Everyone had to leave the area and We couldn't even look at it. The A/C tech had access to the engine compartment and the drivers seat THAT"S ALL. Those guys are very protective of the tester vehicles to make sure no one gets a good look under those black panels.

Notice how I even taped the bars to help me incase I scratch or bump the frame!!! It was fun turning wrenches again, I actually enjoyed doing it. No busted knuckles either, just alot of dirty fingernails and greased up hands. My back is sore from sitting on a creeper chair and hunching over alot. You can see Tony's truggy in the background too, his motor is in and he is slowly buttoning that up as well. That should be a killer motor in that thing. Even took it for a quick spin on tony's land and got in a quick roost to sooth me over for a while.

I spent all day yesterday and a few hours today and its in and running. The hardest part was swapping all the stuff from one motor to the other. Also found out there are two types of 4.0's out there. My chrome timing chain cover wouldn't mount up to the new motor. So I had to stick with the stock black one which doesnt look too bad, I was able to use my chrome pulley however. Considering I haven't wrenched in a few years it took me about a total of 10 hours to take out the old and install the new. Cleaning all the stuff as it goes in of course. The passenger side exhaust is showing smoke so I am hoping that is a sign of the new motor and after it breaks in that will go away. Let it run for about 45 minutes then tucked it away in the trailer till next week when I take it to our annual golf course tournament for the Patrol.

I need to put one on my car as well, Upfront is ideal but I have a full body and nowhere to reach it easily incase of an emergency. Randog- you might be able to go into an assembly line here and make a few bones on the side.

sam- I don't mean any disrespect in any way about your car. Its a great painjob, I love the realistic looking flames. Your car is an extension of your personality and you ran with it. Have fun with your new car!!!

Very nice car!! I am not a fan of the skulls on any car but I can sure appreciate the artwork involved in that car. Great paint job. Take some pics and post them up when you get back.

Nick- I have had AAA for over 11 years now. Never had any problems with them. We get a multible policy discount, Cars/house one payment. I don't have any connections but have been happy with the service all this time.

I have heard companies like U-Haul sell these pretty cheap. Used but still in good shape.

I have seen it as low as $4.09 here in San Diego.

That's the route I was looking for. Thanks

I am leaving tomorrow to Big Bear and would like to know if anyone has a faster route other than what Mapquest gives me. I was told there is a back route that has a full freeway up there as opposed to a 2 lane road. My wife gets motion sickness pretty easy so that needs to be taken into consideration as well. Here is the Mapquest route from San Diego- 15 to 215 215 to 10 10 to 30 30 to 330 330 to 18 18 to Big Bear Miles- 151 Time- 2 hours 50 minutes Thanks Tim

Welcome to the world of diesel's.. I have a 2004 Duramax and the only mods I have done so far are- Edge w/attitude chip ($500 off Ebay) Removed the muffler (Straight piped now) ($40) and PPE bost valve ($30) New tires and went to the next size up. 265's make the truck look better in my opinion. The Edge was a great improvment to my truck. It really wakes it up once the truck gets warm and goes into closed loop mode. The muffler removed was just to see how loud it would be and its REAL LOUD under acceleration. And the boost valve doesn't really do much until I am towing then I see the extra 5 psi boost under a heavy load. My truck came out of Texas so it didn't have a CAT like a typical California truck has. So my muffler missing makes it very loud. With a cat on there it should tone down the noise. Go on Youtube and I believe there are videos of guys with their mufflers off it might give you an idea of how loud it can get.
