  1. Sucks being 300 miles away. I wish I could have been there. Awesome turnout.
  2. These were a few years ago in Glamis. We all must have done 50 wheelies off this lip. It was a ton of fun that day. And this one hangs in my kitchen- It was the first picture I took that made it into a magazine. I hung it for pride that I made a magazine, Now it hangs in memory of a lost friend. One thing I will never forget is his smile. Quirky smile but if fit him perfect and will be hard not seeing it again. I was one of the breakdown victims that Bert came to the rescue. He chased a bad ground in Talladega bowl and we fixed it enough to get back to camp. Not too many people out there just jump right in and help out and not expect anything in return. We can/should all learn from this man that its not about getting something in return but just helping out and doing the right thing.
  3. How can land be closed down without first notifying the public? I have never been there but would like to someday. Seems as though someone wants to take land and keep it " Temporarily Closed" until they get the info they are after to permanently keep it that way. Why can't this study take place while that area is shared with the off-road community? Counting beetles seems kinda pointless, You count some one day and on another day you get a higher or lower number? Who says you didn't miss any the first day? Have the Beetles sign up for Obama Care- Then you will get the number!
  4. Tony, breaking in the new motor in Ocotillo Wells.
  5. Working that weekend and getting ready for the following weekend in Vegas! Wed night thru Sunday.
  6. I am about 30 minutes from his shop. If you need anything let me know.
  7. LOL, I didn't even scroll down and read what you typed Pete and I said the same thing.
  8. That first one is badass! Poster type stuff!
  9. I bet someone wants that land.
  10. Jim- If no one bites at this, I could use those fuel pumps. I run that in my car. Let me know.
  11. Didn't even notice it.
  12. JIm is finally coming out. Atta boy!
  13. To each their own. I think it is a good thing. I see the guys training for this event and they were pumped to run it. They came in 5th for the men's division and 8th for the ladies. Their hard work paid off big time. So one day and some time of inconvenience is allowable in my book. Sure there can be some better info put out as far as how to park and respect others as they try to enjoy the same area. I am sure there are things here that others like and people here could care less about. That argument can do on for pages and pages. Bottom line is the event is planned out long in advance and in going to Dumont that weekend you took the chance of such an inconvenience.
  14. All the signs/videos in the world cannot put an end to this. Bottom line is it starts/ends with the driver. Common sense and not riding beyond you and your equipment's abilities goes a long way. This type of accident could have been avoided but it will continue to happen many more times. Sounds to me like two guys were out having fun and got distracted while doing so and the driver misjudged the speed/dunes. Sucks he had to pay the ultimate price.
  15. This run is an international event, It is possible that a lot of these people we not informed about where that road goes to and they need to keep it open and accessible at all times. I bet it was frustrating since you had bike troubles but try to keep in mind these are LEO people and running a race and they were focused on the race more than parking/staging a vehicle. I am on both sides here as I too am LEO but I can respect your frustration with the road being blocked. At least it only happens one day a year. Next year it might be me blocking your road as I plan on being in it...lol
  16. Yep, Our team is running again this year. I told them to look for all the one finger salutes as they jack up the Highways.
  17. Saw the ad yesterday, maybe he went and bought a different rail?
  18. I try to burn all the gas I bring. If that happened, it was a good trip.
  19. http://l.b5z.net/i/u/6149609/f/Service_Resources/Determining_Proper_E-Z_Flex_12-09.pdf Here is the pdf for measuring your hangars. I don't notice any big difference while towing with them installed but nothing it the trailer has moved after getting to the desert. I have a few loose tools on the floor and they stayed put. The big thing is knowing your suspension is now good to go and will be for a long time to come. Those plastic bushings are crap and probably weren't meant to last more than a year or so.
  20. Damn, I have a photo shoot that Saturday. I would try to get out there.
  21. So to make it speed up you need to make a new clip and have it start from where it left off?
