  1. Thanks, but I went to 3 parts stores and 4 off road shops and none of them had one, had to order one from suzuki. Don't know how to describe it, but the screw has a special shape to it, comes to a long point at the end. It isnt the screws for the float bowl. We were following the directions from the shop on how to load it standing and went to drain the carb like they said and the screw got messed up. We got it drained to get to Dumont, but had to transport it standing without draining the carb on the way back due to not being able to get the screw out again and that caused gas to run into the airbox. I got the filter cleaned and recharged and the screw is on order. I don't know what you mean about a vacuum thing or an inline..? **Sorry for the caps, I copied and pasted this** FUEL PETCOCK IN THE ON POSITION AND ENGINE OFF. ON THE LEFT SIDE BOTTOM OF YOUR CARB THERE IS A PHILIPS SCREW. LOOSEN THE SCREW AND IT WILL DRAIN THE BOWL OUT A LINE BY YOUR RIGHT FOOT PEG THEN TIGHTEN SCREW. AS LONG AS YOU DONT START THE BIKE AFTER THAT YOU WILL BE FINE TO HAUL IT ON THE GRAB BAR. IF YOU TURN THE PETCOCK TO PRI FOR A SECOND BEFORE RESTARTING IT WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO START AFTER YOU SET IT BACK ON THE WHEELS. Didn't know if you were riding a zuki also and had trouble transporting, but here are the instructions for transporting it on the rear end.
  2. I don't actually care to reply to this post other than to defend the person named since I didn't name names and I don't actually have a problem with her, she was cool like I said. Minor mistake on her part and they are correcting it, no big deal, they were very helpful at the shop. My bad if you took that post for more than it was intended, but it wasn't very respectful to name the shop.
  3. I am the first to admit I am new and have stuff to learn, so whoever wants to teach me I am ready to be taught! I ask A LOT of questions. So there it is, same bike different rider and it wouldn't go up the far right area on Comp, so to rider error . I didnt try Banshee or Comp in anything but 2nd, one guy tried Banshee in 3rd and it wouldn't make it, so I stuck in 2nd with the pedal to the metal .
  4. Only got stuck on the hills 2 times (Pres day), never had a problem before. First time was on Comp Hill, ran the middle twice, moved right about 20 feet and it wouldnt make it up, went back to the middle and ran up without a problem. The other time was at the top of the bowl, was riding around up there at the top flat area, turned to head down and tires just spun in the sand, the other guy I was with got on it and tried to ride it out, but it just dug in more so he pulled it out and down I went. Maybe I will have someone ride it up the same area during the cleanup weekend and see if it is rider error, though I dont know what I could be doing.
  5. Could I send a message pigeon to borrow it for a moment? :mc_smiley:
  6. Maybe your fat arse has something to do with that :mc_smiley: (kidding kidding) cause that seems to be the only difference. But I got stuck at the top of the bowl with a stock yfz 450, he was sunk in also but his pulled out of it, mine dug deeper. I got stuck going up the far right side of comp, but I ran up the middle many times without ever having a problem so doubt that was rider error(maybe). Like I said I was going 2nd full throttle, got a little ways up and just lost forward momentum, tires spinning and then it stalled. I was dug pretty good cause I couldnt budge it at all, took 2 of us to get it turned around. Figured if I can ride comp in one area and I move 20 feet over then I should be able to ride it there just the same. Are you saying you were in 1st on comp till 1/3 way up then went to 2nd? Or you saying you were in 3rd on comp?? I might have made it if I had went down to 1st when it started to shudder , but I had been riding 2nd all day without a problem. The guy I ride with took it up Banshee in 3rd and got about 1/2 way before he had to grab back to 2nd, I always have someone ride mine up the big hills first then tell me what gears to use. Always appreciate anyones opinion, thanks.
  7. Hey that chick in the fur coat works at a local shop..met her on Pres day at the shop to get a new carb. screw ordered, she messed up the order and now its going to be another week . She was cool though . Let me add for clarification..This shop (which has been disrespectfully named in another post) was the biggest help to me in getting a measly little screw fixed. The chick was absolutely cool and helped me with a few other things also. They have fixed their mistake and we are taking our business back to them again. Sorry to take your post ... So Frosty, nice 1st time video , with a little practice it wont take much till you will have some great shows posted up. Thanks for sharing.
  8. Thanks! Actually NLVREDNECK did tell me about going 13 tooth front sprocket in a PM, so I was going to do that. I appreciate the input .
  9. Does anyone have a 2003-2007 LTZ service manual laying around?
  10. Didnt even have to ask and you have the answer. I was looking for an allen head replacement for the drain screw, but couldn't find one and had to order the same one it has from a local shop, they said it was a 2007 thing . Thanks again!
  11. Thanks, I asked about materials simply cause there was like 5 to choose from and didnt know the difference, dont care much for color or looks. Still trying to work out the whole head pipe thing in my head though .
  12. Dude you are telling a chick to look at dyno charts ...like I would understand any of that, but thanks for trying . If I could figure it out by charts I wouldnt have to ask you guys.
  13. Is there such a thing as being too helpful?! Thank you! :mischevious:
  14. Ok thanks for the input, I will do some more reading and see what works best for me. Would it be practical if I get the slip on now and maybe later decide to change out the head pipe or would that just be a hassle? I am trying to budget a little at the moment, but I will just work some more overtime if that is what it comes down to. :mischevious: I had to get the black one , I really enjoy this bike and I am having a great time with the hobby. I am trying to learn as much as I can!
  15. :mischevious: Can some of you try to explain to me the difference in getting a full pipe and a slip on? I have tried to do some research, but cant seem to find something that tells me why I should get one instead of the other. So maybe someone on here can explain a little to me. :mischevious: Basically what am I gaining by going with the full pipe or sacrificing by going with the slip on? Also maybe a little about the materials..stainless vs titanium etc. :mischevious: Thanks again!
  16. You are a great help. I hope we can get together again either at Dumont or Armagosa and maybe you will let me take your bike out for a spin B). I definately believe you know what you are talking about :mischevious:, and thanks for not talking to me like I am an idiot :mischevious:.
  17. My tires do seem to dig in alot, so guess I should try messing with the pressure a little. When I get dug in even a little and I hit the throttle I just get dug in deeper, never pulls out. I only weigh about 120, so I didnt think that would be the problem. I did read that with a slip on Yoshi pipe that I wouldnt need to re-jet, but I was told it would help to open the airbox and rejet. So I was thinking to get a Yoshi slip on first then work on the airbox and rejetting a little later (when I can save up more $ ) I am now trying to figure out if I should go full pipe or slip on? :mischevious: Yes, the bike is brand new 2007 bought in January and also my first quad, so I am trying to learn all the techy stuff. I learned on the 450 and do understand the difference enough to know my bike isnt going to perform the same, so when I run into something I dont understand I ask alot of questions, which is what happened on my incident at comp hill. I am just getting comfortable enough with my ability to really get on it, I can ride the flats in 4th comfortably and sometimes 5th and the whoops in 2nd or 3rd depending how tired I am, I can usually get through the little dunes in 2nd or 3rd without a problem, but banshee and comp is 2nd all the way or it stalls out. I had been riding Banshee since I learned to ride, but Pres weekend was my first time going all out on Banshee then I took it to Comp, so I am getting better with time. I have gotten alot of great feedback from this site and I really appreciate it.
  18. I believe the pressure in my tires is about 4lbs, would have to check to be certain. I am running ITP Sand Stars on the back and my stock dirt tires on the front. I made it to the top of the bowl, but got stuck on the top...rode up, stopped on the very top on the flat part, took some pics, went to head down, and was stuck. I was riding comp without a problem till I moved farther right of where everyone was riding..I was going up, 2nd gear full throttle, got a little ways up and felt like I wasn't moving much, bike started to shudder a little and tires started to spin, bike stalled and I was dug in pretty good. Some guy came and pulled me out and turned my bike around. I moved over to the left of that area and ran the hill without a problem. Theory seemed to be that my bike didnt have the power/torque to make it through that sand. I was riding with a stock YFZ450 (I think he has the same paddles as me, but not certain) and he didnt have a problem anywhere. I love my bike even though it is extremely slow on the hills, I dont plan on really racing, but getting stuck is no fun when I am not able to pull it out myself . Thanks! Oh more pressure in tires=what? less=what? I will check those adjustments before my next ride.
  19. Yup, I remember you , you were very helpful out there and it was great chatting with you. I will send you a PM shortly.
