  1. Great! I was going to do the rev box last anyway . I am just having some trouble with getting stuck in the soft sand on some of the hills, so I want a little more power to get everywhere I want to go. I am comfortable with the speed/power it has now for the small dunes and flats, but I got stuck on Comp (off on the right hand side) and at the top of the Bowl...was riding and just sunk into the sand . I dont plan on racing or anything like that, just want to enjoy all of the dunes without waiting for a nice guy to stop and pull me out!
  2. Checked out the site, but didn't find what I was looking for. Thanks for the info.
  3. My 07 Z400 is completely stock and I am looking to start with some upgrades. I am looking to get a Yoshimura slip on exhaust, K&N air filter set, jet kit, and a rev limiter. Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated, but please speak in stupid terms cause I am new at all of this. Can anyone suggest a good shop (vegas) or a website to get a good deal?
  4. Damn I am going to have to have the guys race their KFX (stock) against the YFZ (stock) . I rode the KFX for about 10 mins before I took it back to camp, just wasnt a bike for me. My sister loved it till she rolled it at Apex. What do you have on that Kawi?
  5. Anyone who wants to win a race can meet me at Comp cause I am the slowest up the hill , we can even trade bikes and you can beat me on my own bike!
  6. My mistake the R450 did have a pipe then, but the YFZ was still stock. The guys traded bikes and raced a few times, it was a good race between the R450 and the YFZ no matter the rider. I just started learning the hills and I dont race on comp, but the only race I ever won was on the YFZ and my personal preference is still the R450, which I have never raced with. Obviously rider is going to play a part in a race, put me on any bike and every one of you is going to beat me .
  7. Hey, I haven't met you yet and I don't know what you are talking about (though I guess I can assume), but I think you seem like a good person and a cool chick to hang out with, so I do hope to meet you next time out. Oh and BTW the guys will never grow up
  8. I ride a bone stock quad :no_no: and you better believe I am the slowest up any hill and get stuck in soft sand BUT I just bought it last month and I am new to riding . I should have bought the suzuki r450 oh well just keeps me from hurting myself. Get the Bill Ballance edition YFZ and then let me take it for a spin just for kicks .

  11. Thank you Pete... and.. Thank you to Co-Driver for editing the post, I understand that you were upset and you have all right to be. Nice ride btw.
  12. Sorry but does anyone know the 2 guys on the quads in the pic with them racing? Thanks I think the one on the right with the yellow quad helped me out when I got stuck on Comp shortly after this pic might have been taken and I wanted to say thanks.
  13. That would be the part I quoted in red. Your choice to use certain terms.
  14. Just made it seem like you knew these people were members of this site. I agree that is messed up for anyone to throw rocks at someone. Seems like someone had the dune marked off for themself and camped too close to a hill, not like you did anything wrong and seems like you were respectful about getting out of their camp, but this post seems to be directed at the members of this site and that is disrespectful unless you know they are members.
  15. What makes you think that these people are on this site?
  16. I would like to say thank you and I appreciate your response, which I feel was overall very well put. I see that you have read through the thread and tried to address each complaint/opinion without making excuses or becoming upset, which I hope will be appreciated. It is always good to hear from the other side. I do understand your duties and the need for LE at the dunes, it is just unfortunate that LEO's overall have a bad name and there are a few officers who cause the general public to feel that way, I know from experience and had to deal with the 'I hate LE' attitude, but I tried to be one who made a difference. Welcome to the site. Can we use your name to get out of tickets? Kidding!
  17. We camped around D7 for Pres Day and it was a nice area, kinda quiet. The MOHO's over there didnt have any problems. I got stuck when it was dark in my hyundai accent :eatdrink021: , but I got out during the day just fine.
  18. What quads have you been on before? What appeals to you about the R450? When I first learned I tried every bike we had out there and liked each for different reasons. My preference was the R450 over the YFZ, mainly do to the way they ride but I am a smaller person and the YFZ was a harder ride for me. I bought a Z400 and I am happy with the suzuki. We have had about the same amount of problems with the suzuki and the yamaha, both 2006 and been to the sand about the same amount of times. Thats just us personally, I dont know which one is better based on ratings. Good luck with your purchase, I am sure you will be happy with either one you choose.
  19. I learned on a YFZ and R450 loved them both even though I bought a Z400 for myself. I have to admit I thought the fuel injection and cherry bomb on the suzuki was nice and the stock suzuki did beat the stock YFZ up the hill repeatedly.
