  1. Much appreciated, but there are 3 of us and 2 doggies, so I dont like to intrude on other peoples property much. Keep an eye out for me and introduce yourself, I see we are Vegas peeps and you have the same job as me haha hope to find you and chat.
  2. Oh reeealy? Well just keep a look out for me, I dont think I am very hard to miss. Find me and say HI
  3. I am so excited. I can't leave till tomorrow evening due to my sister having to work, but I am so ready to be there! I hope I can meet some of you guys, if you see me then please stop and say HI and I will be doing the same. We will be easy to find, we are like the only people in a tent . See you all soon, but not soon enough.
  4. Have one for me while I am stuck at work
  5. That is what I was trying to confirm, I am a Cali Non-Resident. The dealer hadn't given me the registration sticker when I bought it, so I just sent someone down to pick it up for me. Looks like I am good to ride in Dumont! Sorry for the confusion, you have been very helpful.
  6. Now I am really confused :mc_smiley: . I am trying to get the proper stuff to ride in Dumont. I thought I had to have a NV registration sticker . My NV registration sticker is being picked up now (from the store on Craig) and I can buy the Non-Resident yearly sticker when I get to Dumont if needed, but what I got from this post was I didnt need a Non-Resident sticker since I paid taxes through the dealer for NV registration. Sorry if I posted in the wrong thread, I read both of the topics and was still confused, just want to have the proper stuff and the info page says "If you are not a resident of California and your OHV is not registered in your home state, you are required to have a California "Nonresident" OHV permit (available at the fee station) to legally operate your vehicle. Stickers are $20 each". So basically I thought I just needed my NV registration sticker...?
  7. Damn them, why didn't they give it to me then! Thanks.
  8. Can someone tell me..I bought my quad last month and I paid NV registration when I bought it, but I dont have any sort of sticker..Was I supposed to be given a sticker at the shop or do I have to buy these stickers you all are talking about? I haven't had my quad to Dumont yet and don't want to run into any problems. Thanks in advance.
  9. The throttle is awesome. My sister loves riding my bike also, but she usually gets stuck on the yfz450 which ends up hurting her hands and arms (she isnt as 'sporty' as I am) so sometimes I trade and let her use mine. One of the guys I ride with doesnt weigh much more than me and he thought it was a little stiff also but the heavier people in our little group seem to like it, so I guess it is just a preference thing. You have been a great help, thank you again.
  10. That is why I bought it instead of the R450..well and it had a little to do with the price, but overall I bought it cause I heard it is a reliable bike and great to learn on. I love the throttle and the clutch, the reverse is nifty also.
  11. Awesome! Much appreciated. I will be looking into that after this trip.
  12. Oh I see..Thanks. I will be doing the pipe and power stuff later when I get better at riding. I am not worried about having a fast bike or anything like that, cause I can always take out one of the guys bikes for some quick thrills.
  13. The owners manual says to take it to a shop to have the suspension adjusted due to it needing a special tool, I was going to ask them about that when I took it in for the first service. I dont have the bike here to look at so I am not sure if the castle nut is screwed all the way up, but I dont think it is. There is an adjustment screw for the compression and rebound that we already adjusted a little bit, but I will have to check it this weekend cause I think we lightened that as much as it goes already. I am going to the shop adjust the suspension when I take it in after Pres weekend. I have the maintenance package on my bike and the shop seems pretty workable for deals so I dont think it will be a problem getting those adjustments made. The guys at the shop said they would give me a front set of sandstar for $170, that is a sale price but I dont know if that is reasonable or not. I paid $250 for the rear tires. Thanks
  14. Thanks! I didn't plan on doing much to it ever, but I do plan on having it for a long time. I was pricing some tires for the front and checking into which style would be best, so that will probably be coming soon, the R450 I learned on had sand tires with the 2 grooves. I will check what pressure I have in them and make that adjustment for this weekend. Thanks much .
  15. I have so many questions and so much to learn and not enough money . So basically I just bought my first quad and I can't spend a whole lot of money on it just yet (and I think I got screwed on the buy too ) so I am wondering what do you all suggest I modify first? It is completely stock at the moment with Sandstar paddle tires on the back and dirt tires on the front, I don't know the sizes or anything . The main things that I would like most is to soften the ride a little, the guys say that will come with breaking it in :mic:, but I don't weigh very much and I don't know if it will break in enough for my liking?? Also it seems (if I can explain this well enough) that the steering isn't as sharp in the turns as the other bikes I have ridden and I assume that is because I was riding a racing version (R450 with mods and stuff I don't understand yet) so is there something I can do to make it handle in the turns better?? Someone mentioned widening the front end . I am not looking for power mods at the moment, I prefer enjoying the ride first then going fast later when I learn more. Oh and remember I am new so speak in stupid terms for me, thanks.
  16. My sister and her boyfriend complain about the thumb throttle on the yfz450 also, but on my z400 the throttle is so soft you don't even realize you are using it. They were saying something about trying to get a throttle like mine and switch it out . I have seen the throttle extensions and was curious about those, I was thinking about getting one for my sister so she can keep up with me not that I can go very fast or anything. I have never used a twist throttle before, but my thought is try the extender first.
  17. Congrats on the new family members those puppies are so adorable. I dont have name suggestions yet, my dog's name is Chubby so I dont guess I am good at names haha.
  18. Yeah money I dont have..hoping to get a better job soon then we will see what I buy
  19. I unfortunately have to depend on other people to be able to make the trip since I dont have a truck and I don't know many people who ride yet. :ahhhhh: Hopefully I will get to know more people and get to come out riding more often!
  20. Very sad . They are asking for donations of old blankets and towels, they always accept anything anyone donates but I think they are in a bigger need for blankets and towels when the outbreak is cleared up. All my pets have been rescued from a shelter . They are the best kind out there. Of course spay and neuter, but don't forget to get your pet micro-chipped so if they ever get lost you can get them back hopefully faster and easier.
  21. My first quad is what I bought last month a 2007 suzuki ltz400. :mc_smiley:
  22. :mc_smiley: Animals! I am surprised to see how many duners have pets and bring them along, my pup doesnt know what to think about Dumont just yet. Ok..back on topic
  23. My pup Chubby (he is a mutt) and his kitty Stormy Stormy giving Chubby a massage after his first Dumont trip, he is about 8 years old These 2 come to Dumont with us, Chubby and Bouncer (my sister's rat terrier)
