Ghost fence? :?: I've never heard of it, but at the same time I have only been to Gosa 1 time. I'm not very superstitious, but it sounds like something a bunch of newbie duners came up with. Nor does it sound like what Mike's buddy, Curtis described to me. From the sounds of it, Mike was going down a big dune and not along a trail when he had his unfortunate accident. So I doubt it is the same spot these people are talking about. Back on the subject of me not being superstitious... I don't mean to come off like some tool, but come on. If you are riding along and all of a sudden "wham out of no where you over the bars and a face full of sand"??? That usually means one thing....you are riding above your limits. As many of the guys I ride with know, I love riding fast. BUT...at the same time I never ride faster than I can judge the terrain ahead of me. I usually only push it real hard in areas I know well and even then, I only go as fast as I can see ahead of me in order to stop in time if something comes up. Good judgement is everything in riding. It's hard, but you just have to know when to slow down sometimes. Stories like Mike's will hoepfully only be a reminder to everyone to be EXTRA careful every time out. It's a dangerous sport but we can always play it safe. BTW, here's the original topic on this accident http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...showtopic=11552

Either one would be fun, Pat. There are some technical rocky areas, but there are also a ton of trails and open sandy areas.

well if it happens at Dumont...it's right here.

:smoker: yeah but just like Vegas Style said last weekend on our bitter springs ride.... you could post gps coordinates, pictures of a new incredible place to ride, date, time, free beer, etc etc and you MIGHT get 1 or 2 peeps to show if you're lucky. See where I'm going with this? Good luck! Peeps are lazy these days! I got some chit to do that day but I'm keeping it in mind and would love to go. I'll let ya know. Who else is in so far, Cole?

Thanks again Lee. Funny how every thread I post pics in turns into a "DSLR camera talk" thread. :smoker: Anyways, you are right. At this point it's personal preference. I think your edited versions look good, but on my monitor the whites seem a tad blown out. I'll have to keep the lower exp comp in mind next time I am shooting indoors or in light such as this race.

some pics of the crazy freestyle guys ^ same pic but cropped

hmm...go -1 huh? I'll have to try that. They just seemed dark on the standard setting so that's shy I bumped it up. I see what your saying with teh editing though. I'm suprised how good a pic can turn out to be sometimes.

Here is another crazy a$$ pic I took of Villapoto coming out of that same corner. YIAH!!!

Thanks Lee. I like that drift one too. All the pics were taken at f/2.8 with my white lens with no extender of course. It wasn't light enough to use it. I still had to crank the ISO up to 2500 and even 3200 at times, but I tried to keep it at 2500. 3200 is kinda too fuzzy sometimes. Most the pics are 800-1000 shutter speed. Oh and I had the exp compensation set at +1. And people say the CAMERA takes good pics. riiiight
