  1. Sounds great. You can take the wash trail all the way to the Date Farm. The date farm has some reasonably priced gifts things to eat, and is a nice spot to visit for desert lovers.
  2. We'd be in but we have,,, kids in school,,,,
  3. Careful with Tom Tom. Talk in the financial rags they may soon fold.
  4. We have a place in Cool at Auburn Trails and in Sumerlin in LV. I think Pete quite talking to me after I posted the for Petes sake thread. Too much embarrassment I rekon'. It had to all come out and clear the air on all Petes shenanigans. Seriously, Pete did have a tranny guy working with him that was/is honest and knowledgeable. We're thinking now I filled the truck with gas that had Stabil in it, perhaps put the engine into limp mode fouling the emissions. That's all we've been able to figure out. No check engine lite,, I have a "service engine soon" lite so that threw me.
  5. Number 4 mistress has stepped forward this morning. Or claims to be. The other common thread is all 4 were hostesses at golf club watering holes.
  6. Duner of the year,, for life.
  7. From his website, Tigerwoods.com: I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone. Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect. But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions. Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult. I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology
  8. For you Allison Trans owners: Their are 2 types of pan filters and a spin on filter. The pan filters are a shallow style, and a deep style. They are designed so ya can't mix them up,, but some GM dealers are installing the wrong pan filter anyway, forcing it on. You will eventually get limp mode when this happens. The incorrect pan filter, worn out thrust washers, bad solenoids and some seal leaks are all that usually effects the Allisons. Some early Allisons had control boards that could be prone to contamination, but haven't heard that complaints in a long spell. Anyone know if the good tranny guy still works at Petes Dealer. Or would someone ask Pete for me. Thanks.
  9. - And which banner might that be? The Red Art Website appears to be abandon or at the least, doesn't work. Clicking on product icon leads to nowhere, clicking on the purchase Icon leads to a broken link.
  10. It was nice to meet you Neal and your pics are spectacular BTW The DDR people were fantastic. Glad to help in any way we could and that you got off the dunes ok.
  11. Thanks for the takes. All the filters and fluid get changed every 25K. I just changed the sparkplugs, and what a difference in power!!! Book says every 100K on the plugs, I say perhaps change them by 75K, huge difference. I'm speculating it went into limp mode. Can't imagine why? Been warned the next episode will shut off the motor. But, damfino. 8.1 Allison 2001.
  12. That's terrible. To loose your home in a fire is awful. Good everyone was OK at least. Hope they all bounce back soon.
  13. And good of you to do so too. Outstanding of you to give up several hours of your vacation Holiday, and burn your fuel at your expense, and lend your vehicle to help out a stranded duner in a bad situation. Several other DDR members stopped and gave their labor, help, and time too. Leave no one behind really means something special in this forum. Superb character and big warm hearts in the right place as good as one will ever find.
  14. Well said Jason but the guy left the scene, never to return, didn't leave any info, took no blame thus blaming Neal, didn't send help nor return to lend any assistance or face the LEOS, and because Neal asked for a cigarette it doesn't make it Neals fault. Neal was left with his bell rung, with two moms and some kids on quads and Rzr's stranded on the side of a bowl after being rear-ended his ride in-operable. Riding a kid on the dunes that was seriously injured to begin with? Let's think that over. If he was injured in a hit-and-run felony then that is some serious charges according to the Rangers. I don't think the jury will buy the cigarette-proves-blame defense. If the guy had any soul or backbone he would have helped or returned and lent assistance, not point the blame, find a lame excuse to split, then vanish forever. So far those I've talked to are standing by what they saw. If they decide to jump in that's up to them. I rest my involvement in this but I had the character to help a duner, a stranger to me that was seriously in need. And I'd like to add, we would have helped Dave too if he was stranded and inoperable, and still would help Dave (or anyone else) if we ever find him in a bad situation on the dunes, regardless of who's at fault.
  15. I leave this issue between you and Neal, but your story vs 12 others who story's concur is questionable. I hope to hell youre not on the dunes when my kid are out there.
  16. We carry asthma inhalers in the the wifes KFX storage, and on our boat at the river. Should be a standard item in First aid kits IMHO. Not for our family, but we do from time to time come across others that didn't take that simple precaution for their kids. Seems to really hit on the warmer or exceptionally cold days at the dunes. We take a neighbor kid to the river and dunes with asthma and we have an inhaler key chain for one of the YFZ's and boat that we insist he carries at all times.
  17. Sounds like the guy. Orange doors. He just kept blaming others. 12 witnesses said he just blindly turned and slammed into Insanity. He did a jack-assed turn and collided rear-ending Neal. He had a kid with him and a flat front tire. The LEOs would's ordered a blood test with the the nearby paramedics. He took off before we could get the LEOS to the scene. We later looked for him but figured he packed up and ran from the dunes.
  18. In the start of the video you see the swing arm on the side of the bowl with the wheel. The transmission was cracked severly.
  19. Soaking in Brine water is old school and it's excellent. Works great for fried chicken too. It's the main step in the recipe that gives the Knotts Berry Farm Fried Chicken and Holidays turkeys their unique taste and so good. BTW: Sometime cover your tri tips with hot dog mustard and generous amounts of Kosher salt then either bake or BBQ. Off the hook excellent.
  20. In your location you always look closed. We came by several times, looked like a parked vehicle, and perhaps your biz was someplace else on vendors row that we never spotted. Jus' sayin'.
  21. I think I have the very first GM 2500 HD pickup Allison 1000 tranny. Now, at 105.000 miles, it will occasionally only shift to 3rd gear and stay there. It won't shift to 4th or 5th (OD). 3900 RPM at 48 MPH. If you stop the truck for 5 minutes with the motor off, it will then resume shifting normally. No problems. I'm asking the DDR jury if: Have you experienced this? What was the cause and fix? Solenoids, the board, linkage not plumb? I'm convinced to only get Allisons work done at an Allison shop or GM dealer so that's where I may take it. INDY trans shops rarely fix Allisons, they seem want to sell ya a new one from what I've seen. Dunefreak talks like his is a reputable, honest shop with a trans guy that knows what he's looking at. May swing by there. But wondering if anyone else experienced this?
  22. This is where I start. We used to hit the Hard Rock, but it's no longer the cool Boutique Rockers Hotel, and the pool is now packed worse than the Mandalay Bay. We met a girl claiming she is the AMY that runs this site,, hell I dunno,, met two guys that claimed they were Mark and Brian too,, everybody lies to you in Vegas,,, http://www.cheapovegas.com/index.php
  23. You've all seen it, the dude that runs his sand vehicle over a blind dune and collides with someone that is driving safely. It's what happened to Insanity causing his RR suspension to grenade and rip away from his sand car. Had it been the kids on quads the guy would'a killed someone. The guy ran from the scene. Anyway, check out this on the dune patch-up and removal back to camp. No one was hurt. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  24. Thanks for the responses. It is Da finest kine' IMHO. Ordering right now,,,,
