  1. What would it be like being in that kinda business? A PITA,, or might it work out OK?
  2. If they get caught and prosecuted chances are nothing will really happen so you have to be pre-active. We use cables and Kryptonyte FAGETTA'bout it chains. Then corral the rides with tow vehicles. I can almost guarantee you'll get visited in the night in Glamis by thieves. Dumont it seems to be happening more and more. And it happens no mater where you camp. Don't make it easy for them. They'll take anything and everything.
  3. Understand it's all change last year. But I'm just going on friends tales.
  4. How about throwing a good sauce recipe our way Al,,,
  5. Ya gotta look at it one step closer. If ya work for a car dealer you will become un-insurable for 10 years,, and that means un-employable. If your work requires transportation, you will be un-insurable for 10 years. That means un-employable. I know talented diesel mechanics that can NOT work because of their DUI from years ago. Save the boozing for when your are done riding. It's a blast buzzing across the dunes with a buzz on,, but it ain't worth the consequences if you get pop'd.
  6. Yep, there it is. Kawai makes a nice unit. But buying one usually means busting it down, equipping it with much extra expense and getting it dune savvy. Now the front end will be yet another expense to consider.
  7. We have heard the flag colors are enforced. Red or OSHA orange only, and some have mentioned no writing/graphics/printing on them. Damfino how accurate that is.
  8. Evidently hey wanna out-ugly the Honda Big Red. I think the resale of my Polaris just went up. These will never move off the showroom floor.
  9. The Tupperware and duct on the new Rzr S is vastly improved over the early Rzr's. A K&N is essential in the sand though. Takes a minute to install. The stock paper filter just doesn't cut it.
  10. I think that car is so Excellent JD. You're gonna love it.
  11. Anyone recommend a good place for a Pullrite Superglide and installation. Plenty of places, but who runs deals? Nice hitch but $$$ so we're looking for a break. Thanks
  12. So,, Any one got a good Dunefreak story????:
  13. If ya really want to see most people dark side: Wait until ya inherit your folks house,,, rent it out,, then the situation with the renters gets real ugly real quick. Having said that, we always try and lend some assistance when folks are stuck in the dunes. A young family was buried to the body in their new Subaru wagon. We yanked them out, but they could'a spent the night there had we not stumbled along. Not a thank you or a go-to-hell from them. Nothin'. Damfino.
  14. Would like to see NASCAR add a second Las Vegas Cup Race in the late fall. Not happening' yet: http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/headlines/...ules/index.html
  15. Hope the super run does good. Is the Parker show Trucks?
  16. We spent 4 hours there yesterday. We had a list of things we wanted to get, but no vendor had what we wanted. Some dashboard items for the Rzr s, and some performance stuff for the mini Rzr and Yamai 90. We checked out toy boxes, but they seem great for motorcycle riding families. Fitting all our rolling stock even in the biggest will never happen. So we'll stay with the utility trailer/travel RV like most other families that quad and SxS'd we know still do. The RV's from Richardsons were appalling junk. Shocking really. 16 oz draft Beers were $10, a good sandwich would run ya about $7. We were glad to see a lot of off road and sand gizmo suppliers were still in business. One couple and their family was distributing literature claiming that Joe Fab doesn't stand behind his products at Sand Limo. They had stories for anyone that would listen. Other than that no drama. I think what is missing from the SSSS is the same that is missing with the boat show, the Auto shows ect,, and that's good entertainment and industry demos. Cover bands always work, as well as some cool seminars,, and ya just don't see that kinda thing anymore. It was really good in the 70's to take in all they cool demos and entertainment. Always seemed popular. Even Dunefreak with a can of starting fluid, and flat tire off the bead, and a match would have been better than nothing. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  17. Thanks for the excellent replies and takes. This is a hell of a response.
  18. Well, the DDR forum is kinda slow,,,, so how about a Yamaha story? After my last marriage exploded I swore I'd never marry again. But,,,, - sitting in the truck as I was waiting for Best Buy to open, I was checking out a nice slender girl in tight pink Levis, half my age who was waiting our front 'til they unlocked the door too. Thought to myself, "Those were the days". Went in when they opened, was getting an MP3 player for one of the kids,,,, and she walked up and struck up a conversation with me,,, a year later we married. I didn't know she could sing and play the piano. I mean really play stripe keys and all, and a voice and style like Diana Krall. We were on a cruise, the piano player was sick, the 3 layer lounge full, so they called out open keyboard and mic. Wife stepped up,, sat down strengthened by 3 Shots of Patron,, and I realized some things you don't know about your wife can be good. So she moves into Crestfallen Manor and Christmas approaches. "I'd like a Yamaha or Kawai Piano" she told me,, so off I went. This blindsided me because she is selfless, never wants anything for herself, all giving, compassionate and kindness I've never encountered. So I jumped on getting her something she loves. It was an eye opener shopping pianos. Most the piano stores were sold out, or hesitant to sell me one anyway. Damfino why, that's the impression I got. Must be a good business to be in. So the few stores that did have the Yamaha model she wanted were stuck at $7K. Kawai's are fantastic, but unaffordable IMHO. Astrof#ckinomically high priced. This is checking all over Cali, Az and Nevada. So I call the last Yamaha piano dealer on my list,, seeing if I could get a break,, or hell,, if he even had one in stock. The guy was Chinese with a very thick accent, but I made out enough that he'll give me a hell of a deal. It kinda sounded like he'll either murder the competitions price, or murder me if I don't get down there and buy one. I went in the next morning, sat down,, he said "how about $3500 delivered?" Done deal. I continued on, spent the night in Parker Az. My Pea Sized brain started getting thoughts of how in the hell am I getting a price break like that? Is the piano a left over from the Yamaha school competitions in Yonkers,, is it grey market,,, a return,,,, oh well. Made it back home the next morning. As I walked up to the house I could hear the piano playing. Wife was feeding the dog with "Devil and the deep blue sea" a great sippin' and grinnin' tune,, and she was slap happy. It was a new piano outta the box. Yamaha has an almost Steinway sound with a tiny amount stainless steel thrown into the notes. Now i know why Yamahas symbol is a tuning fork on the side of your gas tank. Wife takes competition Hill on her other Yamaha:
  19. Wish they'd move it back to where it was or down on the entrance RD. It's re-location murdered the camping in the area it's now in.
