  1. schweet!.....feed the addiction!!....lol. looking forward to seein it!
  2. oh no doubt, every time you get done with one little glitch, another one is right there waiting, and there is nothing to these thing, like 50 pieces counting the damn bolts! lol but your right it is fun to work on, its not like working on a full size, you can just pick it and turn it around or flip it over, or spin it, its like having your own midget stripper. gotta grab some bolts and stop by keisub and get some switches, then its back to assemblIE (<---monkie tribute).
  3. here are a coouple pics, nothin special, just some midway stuff.
  4. so, exhaust is built, wiring harnes is now figured out, and the engine has been fired. just in time to give me some added incentive to keep messin with it! the blaster hubs got mis-shipped and returned but are now on the way again. wheels and "fifty series tires" are on their way. just need to get by mcfadden-dale and find some nice new nuts and bolts for a few places. Pulled the motor back out a little bit ago and its time to get the harness mounted in for the last time and finish up the battery tray. then it should be smooth sailin from there. :atc:
  5. yeah thats should work, should get the knees down a touch too. clears the shifter now. before.....peg bar rises from the motor plate. after....peg bar is just about level with plate, basically you can pick the spot it needs to be at depending on the motor setup, mine needed to be at this level, but yours may not need to drop as much.
  6. same here...i am thinking i will just "re-time" the peg bar to the mount plate (change the posistion of the peg bar inside the mounting plate), i will probably just cut the factory welds and rotate the peg bar downward a bit then re-weld it. so instead of the bar coming off the plate and coming up slightly, i think iwill make it come off and stay level. i will let you know how it works out and if its good we can hook yours up too
  7. lookin good mang!...i just ran into peg bracket issues on mine so i am takin a break and gonna go get some dinner...haha
  8. sweeeet!...haha...love it!
  9. thanks guys, it was like an early christmas present unwrapping everything today! already got the new bearings and seals in, brakes are together and the drum "sheild". its like building a really large model, its kind of addicting. time to start looking for another one i think! :atc:
  10. some more pics....got the intake rotator (they shorted me on the bolt kit so i need to get that together) and powdercoat back.
  11. it should work out well, but i cant take credit for this one, it came with the motor..lol i built one for another bike i used to have. that one actually folded under the motor and you would fold it back out then pull it up to start it. that one was pretty bitchin. hopefully once i get my powdercoat back it all goes together well! i feel like i am on that "wrecks to ritches" show and i have 4 weeks to build! nothin like procrastination! :atc:
  12. right on! sounds great. lookin forward to meeting you this year. i am gonna be there with my 85!, finished or not! it may be half new stuff and half old, but it will be there! haha
  13. cardiac arrest.....mom found her in the shower, medics did cpr on the way to hosp. she was DOA pretty crazy 32 years old!
  14. thats awesome man!...makes me wish i didn't go completely away from stock look on my 85!.....ohwell may look even better! very nice of you man! thanks again!
  15. haha .... the brake parts are pretty hard to see....the intake should stick out quite a bit though, i have to face out to the right, due to the starter. yeah its overkill, i know....whatever!
  16. ya caught me! its a turning brake!....it took alot of work to get it to work to get it to work with a single drum and a straight axle too! i figured out an ingenious way to make it work buy mounting it to the engine! i am quite proud of myself!! ...LOL! HAHA just playin with ya, that is the "kicker" or the puller i guess you would call it in that configuration. the motor is not honda, it a knock off chinese motor, so it has elec. start and a spot for a kicker also, you pull that handle up from the front just as you would kick if it went back.
  17. how it looked when i got it from that OGP character! how it looked at the 1st regatta! then this happened! a little modifying to add some clearance in the "tunnel" dropped off parts to the coater random polishing while waiting for parts before after...still need to get some of the narrow areas with a hand held buffer compared to original stock intake brake mounts.....need to hit these again now that i have some new compound the new motor again i had a little brainstrom and remembered i had this from my street glide may just have to get a new frame and put this guy on the 70
  18. damn.... i thought i was gonna have a "70" christmas!
  19. oops ... got your thread all side tracked.........back to your build! :atc: you did have those parts you ordered sent to my house right? you knw, just incase you arent home when they arrive right?!
  20. dratv rocks, but dont forget to check ebay before you order, i have ordered a few things from there and saved money on each item. also a little tip is to get creative on the search, look for atc70, atc 70, pitbike, pit bike, even lifan and piranha stuff, if you need some accesories. i found a company that had my intake manifold ( more agressive curve, and 24mm ) for 9.99 and free shipping, and a intake rotator base for 10.95 (21.95 on dratv). just a little FYI to help everyone!
  21. chances are that the bottom of the tank is probably less rusty then the top area, do to the fact that when you store it there is usually some fuel left covering the lower area of the tank. the condensate usually collects above the level of the fuel and rusts the upper area, rust likes water and air to "grow". you should be able to tap along the questionable area and hear a distinct difference in sound, along the lines of a tin can sound, if the metal has become real thin. try tapping it gently with the butt of a screw driver or something along the seam, it should have a fairly dense sound to it. if you are still leary of the acid, you can do the old school gravel thing..... rinse the tank out completely! let it air out all the gas fumes! fill the tank about halfway with water and a couple handfulls of small gravel, and shake shake shake. its like sanding the inside, it will knock of the stuff that is on the surface (the stuff most likely to break free as you ride and clog your filter). then rinse it all out, and get it good and dry inside. then you will have a clean enough surface for the kreem to work. i have done this a few times long ago in the metal tank days, before plastic tanks came along. as far as the drum it should slide off the axle once the cover and stuff are out of the way, its probably rusted to the splines on the axle. try some penetrating spray or wd40 let it sit for a bit the tap around the spline area on the drum..not on the outer drum!! lol just by the axle area! tap it a few times and it should break free and slide off, after that the shoes are a breeze.
  22. haha...i love that idea OGP....a buddy of mine here in vegas saw that and did the same on his house this year, he did it right where he was about to run out of lights, so he didnt have to buy more! lol MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
  23. dropped off parts at the powder shop today, should have them back in a few days! yeehaaw frame, tank, forks, drum cover, chain cover, rear sproket, nerf bars, peg bracket, seat bracket, skid plate, and triple tree cover...its gonna be strange picking them up all clean and shinny!
  24. you can also convert the kicker to a "pull handle" and face it forward instead of kicking backward towards the fender. that is the set up i have.
