  1. These things are always hard to hear about. My deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased.
  2. All I can really say is that this was exactly what I needed. I have not camped at Dumont in well over a year and this little kick off was perfect. We learned a very good rule for camping at Dumont and that is wake up and hit the dunes before you do anything else. Don't make breakfast, don't shower, don't do anything except get your butt on your bike and go ride. It's just what you need to get your day started. I rarely party like I did on Saturday and from what I remember... I had fun!! Nighttime shenanigans by the camp fire finished off the weekend pretty well for me and water is the key to survive any hangover!! I'm so glad the season has finally started and I'm looking forward to lots of riding this season.
  3. Sounds like a good weekend out there. Glad everyone had fun and no serious mishaps occurred. This weekend it will be my turn!
  4. Still a little warm for my taste especially considering we are entering the season very soon. I'll wait a few more weeks.
  5. I like to try and do a trip before the big crowds show up for Halloween. I've done it a few years in a row and Its the way to go although I think last year I was freezing my Arse up in Minnesota instead. I plan on making up for half of my season I missed last year. I can't wait!
  6. That's pretty looking no doubt! I would love to see something like that in person.
  7. Usually around this time I try and make a trip up to my brothers place in Koosharem Utah. Pete your dual sport buddies need to make a trip up there and check it out. I promise you won't be regret it. Other than that I've been doing a lot of shooting at the indoor range lately and starting to compete. I'm doing well and having fun! It will have to last until October!
  8. I will say this, Nick, Pete, Steve, and Aaron will confirm that I was miserable to ride with until I put the upgraded suspension on my bike. I considerably improved because I was getting bounced all over the place. I seriously thought I made a huge mistake when I started riding my 700 because I never felt in control. I love my bike now and although I think it still might be to big for me I love it! Someone told me I made a mistake that I went with the Elkas and should have gone with something different like the Fox Floats. I usually just respond with "whatever dude, I still ride better and comfortable" and leave it at that.
  9. Adam if it makes you feel better I too didn't want to spend the extra money for the duals. They look and sound great and from what I've read they provide the best numbers. I still had asked Aaron what the next best set up was and I went with the Sparks Big Core, PCV with Auto Tune, Pro-design air kit and had Racing Dirty tune it per Aaron. I think it pulled max of 46hp to the rear wheels maybe even less but I still noticed a considerable change in performance on my bike. I am not the fastest in the line anyways so I just wanted a little more performance and I'm happy as hell with it! Don't let anyone tell you that you should not be happy with what you have. If your happy then it's all that matters. Aaron knows his stuff in this field. I'd trust his judgement and that's why I went with his advice but I'm kinda a rookie at these things so I usually just ask those that know more than me which is almost everybody. I'm sure you will be happy with your new set up. Enjoy it!
  10. Always good times out at that dunes but there is something special about those early morning summer runs. Every time I wake up at 3:00AM for an early trip to Dumont I think to myself "what the hell am I doing?" but then I get out there and realize its all worth it. This was a good sized group followed by lots of laughs. That sand was super soft and razored out! The first run in the morning was the best. It went so long that my thumb starred hurting from pushing the throttle for so long lol! Aaron your bike is pretty bad a$$ and that race fuel is nice to smell when riding behind you! Pete, you never fail to find the good lines out in the dunes. Thanks to all for a great weekend!!
  11. Looking forward to this one. Last time I remember riding in a big group in summertime was night drags several years ago. Should be fun!
  12. For some reason 85 degrees in Dumont feels pretty damn hot! I'm sure 100 will be intolerable as the day goes on. I love the summer runs though. It feels like the whole place is yours and at no time during the normal season will you see better virgin sand. It will be a blast no matter what the temps are.
  13. Hellz yeah Chris! Thought you went back to the sand box?
  14. I'm in lets do this! I love the summer runs but your right those dunes are crazy dangerous.
  15. I'm 5'7" and weigh about 130 and ride the Raptor 700. I love my bike and feel that it's an all around bike for me. I go up north to my brothers in the high elevation, rocky terrain and love it. Runs real strong and been a great bike. I did put a little money into the suspension though and made a big difference for me. I say go with the Raptor but that's just my opinion.
  16. Hate to be a flake but I forgot I have a prior commitment and won't be able to make this one. Guys have fun!
  17. I've never been there yet but I've heard ok things about it.
  18. Steve if your interested in the Duck Creek deal I suggest going an hour further to Richfield/Koosharem area. Amazing area without the crowds of duck creek. My brother lives there and I try to make one trip every summer. Best trail riding I've seen so far. I've been to duck creek and it's fun, pretty but congested.
  19. Looks like they have a guy in custody now and it seems they might have DNA to place him at the scene. Nut job has a history of violence and sexual assault. If found guilty I really hope that the burden isn't placed on the tax payers to fund this guy the next 50 years while he sits in prison. Send him straight to the electric chair and be done with it. I don't care how oppressed, abused, not socialized, or victimized they make this guy out to be. Not everyone deserves to live and this guy truly fits that category. Makes me sick!
  20. I had heard about this the other day and waited to read and hear more details before I put this up on here. This one really disturbed me and made me wonder what in the hell is wrong with people? I truly don't understand what kind of a person could rape and bludgeon to death a 10 year old girl and her mother. I hope they find this SOB and give him the chair. He will then have hell for all eternity to look forward to. Here's the link http://www.lvrj.com/news/police-boy-didn-t-name-father-in-slaying-of-mother-sister-148004695.html
