  1. Let me just tell you this story. Last summer Joe fixed both of my A/C units in the middle of the summer. So yesterday, I get a text from my wife that the A/C on the family room side went out. I gave Joe a call and within 1 hour, he had someone out there to look at it. Turns out the breaker had tripped which caused everything not to work. But, while he was here, it was noticed that the fan motor on one of the units was bad. So today, it was swapped out with a new one and I'm back in the cool air! As always, everything was done quickly and at a GREAT price! The professionalism that comes along with Joe's company is unmatched by any that I've ever used! Thanks again Joe! It doesn't get any better than that!
  2. Thanks Nick. Rhino Queen, PM if this is something you can/want to do.
  3. The wife and I are looking at finally putting a pool in. If there are some references out there, speak up, I'd like to get some estimates. If there are any DDR members that do landscape either for a business or on the side, PM me. It's not a big job, but I'm wanting to go to a desert landscape design in the front. Thanks
  4. Sounds like a blast! I will be heading out for a long awaited vacation on the 20th. Although I would love to go to the other coast, we are settling for California (as always). Keep the stories coming!!
  5. As a matter of fact, I did order 2 of them and the other one is in my glove box right now. Funny you say that. If it goes out again, I will do the repair myself.
  6. So lately I have been having problems with my truck (2002 Ford F250 PSD 7.3L). I would be sitting at the stop light and it would just DIE. No electrical, just engine. I'd put it in neutral and it would fire right back up. So I posted on a diesel site and everyone on there said the same thing, "It's the Camshaft Position Sensor." So I did some research and sure enough, everything that was happening resembled this sensor going bad. So I call Ford Country (BIG JOKE), just to get some input from them and costs. They basically wanted to charge me over $500.00 for the sensor and labor. Yeah right, that place, along with every other Ford dealer associated with them are professional rip-off's!!! I found this website http://guzzle.rbmicro.com/cps.html on http://forums.thedieselstop.com. The part was $15.29 (Ford Country was $125.00). And being the NON diesel mechanic I am, I needed a good one so I found a shop on Industrial (J & S Diesel). I took it down there this morning at 8:00am and had the diagnostics done and yep, the CPS went out, along with one battery being dead and the other showing 9volts. They had me back on the road before noon. So bottom line, the problem was pretty big and the fix was VERY easy. $15.29 for the part + $90.00 to install it. I can't say enough about the customer service at J & S. The guy who took care of me was James (owner). So if you have a problem like the one I had on my truck and need a good shop to take care of it, I would highly recommend J & S (702) 736-8526
  7. "General sand dune talk or whatever else is on your mind. Any thing goes.. Just remember little eyes can read too!!" I would have to say that being able to post up a question or comment in a place you feel comfortable doing so would explain any post. I for one consider the off-road crowd, especially the sand dune crowd some of the coolest peeps around. If the Mods of the site don't feel a post should be here, then it's up to them to remove or move it. If you don't want to read through someone's post, don't, but don't flame a guy for asking a question...geez.
  8. Been there done that. My Mom even lives in Myrtle Beach. We are from South Carolina and after 20 years of living here, my Mom decided to move back to Myrtle Beach and my Brother moved back to Hilton Head Island. I was the only one who stayed in Las Vegas. After a few years back there, my Mom and Step-Dad decided to come back to Vegas to be closer to my kids. That lasted about 1 year. See my wife and my Mom really don't see eye to eye sometimes and I'm stuck in the middle of it. Yeah blood is thicker than water, but my wife is my wife and my kids are my kids....it's MY family, no one elses. If they (parents) aren't paying my bills, putting food on my table or cleaning my house, then they have to understand that the umbilical cord has been cut years ago and they have to understand this! Stand your ground, you will be miserable if you don't. You have to go to bed with your wife every night, not your Mom. I do agree that the door needs to be opened for family, but sometimes, the door needs to be closed and they have to understand this. If they don't, then oh well. I know it's easy to say and hard to do, but your wife and kids come first IMHO. Whatever you do, don't let your parents come between you and your wife, this is the worst thing that could happen. Good luck!
  9. We are doing our annual Boulder City show. Should be up there around 7:30 - 8:00pm or so. If anyone is going, we usually park back by the airport in the dirt lot across the street. Will be in my truck.
  10. I feel your pain Joe...since you were at my house twice last summer...hopefully this summer will be cooool sailn'
  11. Terry, I believe you may be right...
  12. I have to ask this as it happened to me on the way to work. Why in God's name do women find that they have to put on their makeup as they are driving a 2000+ vehicle? This morning I get cut off by a BMW going down I-15 at 8:00am (not exactly light traffic), by a lady who was putting her makeup on with the visor down! Give me a FU#$ing break would ya! I swear, the next person within the sound of my horn, putting on makeup is going to get a full blast! I hope that if she is doing it and I blare the air horns that she smears her eye liner or lipstick all over her face. For FU#%S sake, does the term CRASH come to my mind? Okay, if you have a logical explanation as to why this has to happen while driving a car, please give it to me. And for the woman from this morning :worthless_without_pics:

    Local AC shop

There is a Midas on the corner of Windmill and Pecos (NW corner by Terrible's). I have taken my vehicles there a few times and they always treated me good and the price wasn't too bad. The manager's name is Leo. Good luck
  14. Those are great pics but as others said, that last one ROCKS! That is a postcard picture for sure!
  15. Yeah they have us by the ballz. Why? Because we are dependent on fossil fuels. Everyone out there knows there are alternative fuels, but we also know that the OPECers won't ever let this happen. The Government is a BUSINESS and don't ever think otherwise. They will not be happy until we have stabalized at $3.50-$4.00 a gallon. When I was in China, the price of fuel was, and this is no chit, $5.00 a gallon. This is why China is over run with scooters. Now, check this site out http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/glo...ices/price.html and look at the last one on the list. You are reading it right... 0.14 a gallon. We (USA) will never see gas prices under $2.00 a gallon EVER again. As I see it, we are at the mercy of the oil companies. I say we (USA) tell those coutries that supply us with oil, "Listen here abdulah, we are going to give you XX amount of dollars per barrel of oil." If that price doesn't go over, then we move on to the next oil producing country. Once the word gets out that we are not backing down, some country will say, yeah we'll give you oil at that price. It's sad to know that gas companies could charge us $1.00 a gallon and still make a buttload of money. I'm going to stop right now cause this is going to get ugly
  16. lmao! Of course I played it with my wife sitting right across from me...the last time she looked at me like that was when she was giving birth to our children
  17. I cannot stand the summer time in this town! My last month's power bill was $168, but I can see it going to $400 easily this summer. I say Nevada Power! If they would just follow suite with Boulder City, we wouldn't have these high azz power bills.

    Charity Ride

The ride went off in both states without a hitch. We started off from Hogs downtown with approximately 200 bikes. We then headed south on Las Vegas Blvd to Jean. We went west to Goodsprings where we ended at the Pioneer Saloon. After about 1 1/2 hour of hanging out and driving the bartenders to their limit, we headed back to Vegas via I-15. After getting back to Hogs, a huge BBQ was put on along with an auction. Tommy's Father was in attendance and spoke with the media. This was a very nice day for a very nice guy. I hope Pacman Jones doesn't ever think there will be a benefit in his name. If nothing else, we will ride again, longer if need be, to raise money to keep in the gray bar motel. Take care
  19. check out www.wynnjobs.com they are always looking for good workers

    Charity Ride

Tomorrow there will be a charity ride for Tommy Urbanski. Tommy was a bouncer at the Minxx nightclub and was shot during the NBA weekend. He was shot after ejecting Pac-man Jones from the club. The whole story can be found at www.tommyurbanskifund.org There will be 2 rides going on at the same time, one here in Vegas and one in New York. If you ride and would like to join, I will be meeting a few HD guys at Windmill and LV Blvd @ Terrible's between 8:30 and 9:00am. Take care and ride safe

    UFC 71

Well the fights were great right up to the last one. Chuck Lidel and Rampage Jackson. Chuck got knocked out! He's my favorite fighter, but damn Chuck, that was hard to watch. Oh well, there is always someone bigger and badder than you. Hopefully a re-match will happen soon and he can get the belt back!
  22. Hey Christy. Sorry I haven't been in touch lately, been traveling a lot. Can't wait to finally get everyone together. Hope all is well with you and your family. Ash
