  1. I haven't really heard any feedback as to major problems as of yet. Ford did govern the engine to a max speed of 85mph, but honestly, it's no big deal to me as I'm not in a race to get there, especially with 15k pounds hanging off the bed. If they are removed so you can go faster, then bye bye warranty and hello smoked turbos. Also, the new engine requires ultra low sulfur diesel and if you don't use that, then it's also bad news for the motor. For now, the truck is running great, handles perfect, rides smooth and has plenty of power. I haven't been able to hook the 5th wheel up as of now, but as soon as the new hitch is installed, I will test that out right away. I'll keep everyone posted with the truck during the dune season.
  2. Very!! It's solid steel with grip tape on the step.
  3. It does. When you let the tailgate down, you can pull the step out and then there is a bar right inside the tailgate that lifts up so you can help yourself into the bed. I'll take a picture of it and post it up.
  4. We have a cabin in Utah. It was not supposed to be snowing this early, but a cold front came through this weekend. It snowed on me from Cedar City to Duck Creek on Friday night and then again all day on Saturday. Today was nice though, sunny and ony 33 degrees when we left at noon.
  5. Sorry, but the pics aren't the greatest. It was snowing all weekend where I was. Overall, I love the truck. The biggest downside to it is the gas mileage but that will get better as the miles get put on. Other than that, it's a well thought out truck The bumper camera The hitch camera Another shot of the hitch camera I should be getting the hitch installed this week sometime, and then I'm hookn' up to the trailer and taking it up Mt. Potosi to see what she'll do.

    Handguns

Glock 17 w/17 round magazines are a in California....and I don't think the BLM would take too kindly to the sale of a firearm at Dumont.
  7. Update: The azzhats near the area mentioned were caught in the act last night :assrock: More info to come, but from what I'm told by LEO's, they tried to do a home invasion, but failed miserably when the neighbor turned out to be a cop.....hahaha that'll learn ya http://www.lasvegasnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=7166477
  8. If you don't mind me asking, where did this happen? My truck and trailer were stolen off of Pacific and Tamarack. If it was anything like the HPD officers I dealt with, they are no hurry to do anything but in a real big hurry to go do something else. I think some fliers with a reward for anyone with knowledge of who is doing the break-ins would go over well. Hell I'm willing to put up some money towards the fund. Sorry to hear about the break-in though.
  9. Yup, I'm at Pebble and Maryland. My house is pretty secure and the dogs will let me know if someone is around. However, a firearm in the house is never a bad idea. Remington 870 loaded with 00 buck will do the trick. Like I tell my wife, if you hear something, rack one in the tube and if you still hear something after that, point in the general direction and fire off a round. This is of course, after the verbal "I HAVE A SHOTGUN" has been yelled. If they stay after the verbal and the sound...they deserve what's next.

My suggestion is to NOT sell your guns through to a dealer. You are not going to get anywhere near what you would like. I have always found that selling them through the news paper is a great way to go. But if you insist on doing it through a dealer, I would suggest The Gun Store on Tropicana.
  11. Lately we have had some serious crime issues happening. The latest was a man walking along Windmill and Maryland Parkway was snatched from the sidewalk and gunpoint, forced inside his home and then robbed. Second was next door to my MIL house. They broke in to the guys house and took all his guns, money and other valuables. Third, there was a home invasion in my neighborhood last month and a few stolen vehicles from my area. So if you live in the area between Windmill and Silverado Ranch East of Las Vegas Blvd. and West of Eastern, metro is stepping it up a bit to see if they can get this under control. Be safe, be aware
  12. Yeah I'll try and dig up some pics from Indonesia...they carry AK-47's over there. When I head over to Japan, I'll snap some photos of their local PD in action. Yep, I have to agree that we are the only ones with PD brutality laws...makes ya wonder huh?
  13. The first long distance trip I took was when I was 16. My brother and I decided to head out from Vegas to Charlotte, NC. That was a fun trip, did it in a Ford Festiva. Man that car got some killer gas mileage. After that, I've driven from here to Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Charlotte, a couple trips to Kentucky and then all back again. One of my most memorable trips was a few years ago with my Son. We flew into Huntsville, AL to pick up a piece of equipment for my company ( a BIG street sweeper). We drove back, stopping in Memphis,AR then again in Normon, OK to see me niece. We left OK and drove straight through to Vegas, total of 18 hours on the road that day. Longest trips though have been to China (a bunch of times), Indonesia and soon to be another trip to China but before that will be a trip to New York for a week and then straight to Japan with a turnaround trip back to China in January. And to think I will be at Dumont in between those. Those trips are a mother, going over the international date line really screws up the sleep schedule. +15 hours to China, +16 hours to Japan and +14 hours to Indonesia. Pheww, I'm tired just thinking about it.
  14. I couldn't agree with you more! People just have to realize that the airports today are not like the airports before 9/11. I see it all the time, but you know what, I only see it state side. I never see anyone acting like a moron at international airports. Why? Because they will just haul your sorry a$$ away. In China for instance, I did see someone acting like a fool and the local cops came right over, back handed the guy right in the face, threw him on the ground, handcuffed him and off he went.
  15. I have handcuffed a whole lot of people and I can honestly say, I have never seen anyone get the cuffs around their neck. I've used chain and hinged cuffs and I just cannot picture this in my head. What say you Cole..you ever seen that?
  16. I couldn't help but be confused as to the death of this woman. The cuffs ended up around her neck??? I'm curious to see how this one will play out. Maybe there was some CCTV in the room that will help. PHOENIX — The stepdaughter-in-law of the city's public advocate, found dead in a police holding cell in Arizona, was a "wonderful" woman and mother, Betsy Gotbaum said. Gotbaum, the public advocate, spoke briefly to media across the street from her Manhattan building on Sunday, two days after Carol Anne Gotbaum was found in the cell where she had been taken in handcuffs after being arrested at an airport. Authorities were investigating if Carol Anne Gotbaum choked herself while trying to get free from the handcuffs. "She was a wonderful mother, she was sweet and kind and loving," Betsy Gotbaum said. She added, "It's obviously very, very difficult for us, we are dealing with it as best we can. My number one focus is those children and my stepson. I hope the press will consider our feelings and please, please, please don't ask us any more questions." The 45-year-old New Yorker was arrested Friday after a conflict with gate crews who refused to allow her to board a plane, said Sgt. Andy Hill, a Phoenix police spokesman. Officers handcuffed her and took her to the holding room, where she kept screaming, authorities said. Hill said officers checked on her when she stopped screaming and found her unresponsive. Hill said it appears Gotbaum may have tried to get out of her handcuffs, became tangled in the process and the cuffs ended up around her neck. A cause of death will be determined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner. "She was very agitated and irate and angry," Hill said. "These are the things that led to the disorderly conduct arrest." Authorities said neither a Taser nor pepper spray was used on the woman.
  17. We will be out 12-14 and then back again for Halloween. After that, it will most likely be every other off-weekend.
  18. Okay, I'm about fed up with uncontrollable parents at kids sporting events, ie. football games. I understand you want your kid to be the best, the top athlete, the cream of the crop....but fuggn' hell, is it mandatory that a parent taunt the ref, go down onto the sidelines where the players are and swear at your kid for 'not making the play?' Give me a break. I'm sorry that you never played sports or sucked at it, I'm sorry that you are living THROUGH your child, that you are a broke azz POS that expects your kid to make the big leagues and take care of you for the rest of your life. You really need anger management classes and some maybe get For all the parents out there that are this type of parent
  19. Yeah my weekend went down the toilet for sure. It's unfortunate, but I'll be ready to go by Halloween weekend.
  20. Well, my plans have changed. I will not be making the kick off weekend. My F450 won't be ready and I want it done completely before we go. With everything else going on I just have to bit the bullet and hang out here. I will be out the weekend after and Halloween weekend for sure. Be safe
  21. One of my favorite trips last year...gotta love a Dune sunset
  22. For 5 tires, installed and all the warranties was around $1,100.00. I can't remember the exact price right now.
  23. +1 That is the only place I will take my hauler!
  24. FOUND IT! Heres the link.. http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/in...67&src=SRQB
  25. Last year when I blew a trailer tire, I used the points that Bob pointed out, but it took me forever with my 5th wheel. Hopefully Ynot will chime in on this subject. He told me about some ramps you can just pull up or back on to get the blown tire off the ground. I have been trying to find them, but no luck yet.
