  2. Well said Dave. Good to see you at Dumont Dunes! Don't tell yer friends though, We don't want word getting out that it is better duning than brand G
  3. Not necessary, the rides on me
  4. Prob. true, and he said he was almost arrested for telling the camera guy to eff-off. Okay so thats out in the open. Makes for a good story line. Scott could you tell us what you guys were doing out there? Heard it was CourTv or an episode of cops. True?
  5. There are a few peeps that keep making STATEMENTS of FACT so I am assuming one of you know what exactly was being filmed and why. CARE TO SHARE? Inquiring minds would like to know.
  6. ANYTIME Bro. I mean it! One of my favorite things to do is get peeps to "cross over" to the dark side!
  7. I'm thinking I need to know what you ride/drive out there so that I can keep an eye out for you. You obviously don't have kids yet and that's okay. But try to put yourself in a parent's shoes and think of the convenience those fingers offer to them while their kids are learning how to navigate the dunes. For the record, I have roped off in the past a spot for my kiddies to ride, but I ALWAYS leave the crest open for peeps to ride out to the dunes on. This is just common courtesy. The fingers are ALWAYS within the camp area and as such, should be driven on like you are on the flats; at VERY slow speeds. You said it yourself that the fingers are a good place to start a ride. They are also a good place to learn HOW TO ride. ie. kids. I often see little kids learning how to ride the dunes on the fingers. I respect that. I also use the fingers to get to the dunes, but I do it at 10mph until I am away from the "training hills". Cut the kiddies some slack and Parents, keep the crests open for navigation to the dunes.
  8. Well, I am glad we cleared that up. I feel better now....
  9. The crew I saw was in a silver and blue flamed Funco. Looked pretty nice to be a LEO buggy. I didn't know they had any custom painted buggies....
  10. Well said: Hit 'em in the face OR Hit 'em in the pocketbook. Which do you think would be more effective? Companies like this need to go away for good. Hit 'em in the face and if you got dough, you might just help finance another year's worth of staying in business. this is just my also....
  11. Sounds like she was in the wrong place at the wrong time...... Was this the little skirmish that took place Sat night on the left side of Comp (while facing it) at about 9pm? We were up top watching the crazy when a big deal was made of something down there.... Couple of quad cops then 2 or 3 units rolled up shortly after. I could see the camera lights....
  12. They rolled up on us and one of our crew's sandcar did not have his registration sticker on(he had it on his person, just not on the rail) and our experience was exactly the opposite, the cop was much nicer for the camera. I would imagine that any portayal of leniency for underage drinking on camera would be suicide for the cop's career and a bad message to send out to others should this episode ever air. JMO.....
  13. I think cones portray a false sense of security. The duners see the cones and figure that it's safe to cruise along at a good clip OUTSIDE the cones because the kiddies are inside them. NOT TRUE. We all just need to keep our genitalia in our trousers until we get away from the campgrounds and into the dunes. I know, easier said than done...... IMPOSSIBLE for some....
  14. Your friend was under age and drinking. If I were a cop, I would have AT LEAST made her feel like a piece of crap. She is lucky she didn't get hauled in. Like them or not, the law is the law and must be obeyed or changed by the majority.
  15. There's a guy in Hesperia who is an excellent rebuilder. He's done several of mine in the past years and is reasonable and FAST! Call Ray Palmer(DRB) at 760-220-9763. Ray knows him.
  16. More like: Way to RESURRECT a thread
  17. It was hands down the BEST weekend I have had in the dunes for as long as I can remember. Great company, great rides, great food and great weather. The GPS showed that we duned 146 miles at an AVERAGE speed of 33.6MPH! YEAH BABY!!!! :kart:
