The officer's injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, but a SWAT team and small army of officers are still in a stand-off at the Henderson residence and believe the gunman may have a hostage, a police spokesman said. The conflict, which began about 7:15 a.m., prompted authorities to cordon off an area near the city's downtown. I actually saw a police escorted ambulance heading down the 95 this morning on my way to work. not sure if it was related, but not very often do you see 2 bike cops flying down the freeway escorting an ambulance, with 2 more bike cops behind it. They are saying it is an apparent murder/suicide. A woman (40'ish) and a young boy escaped from the home this morning. They think the young woman killed was her daughter and the guy was the "estranged boyfriend". What makes a person snap like this?? It's beyond my understanding!!
