  2. It’s been a few years since we been out to Dumont, we had a great time! Any way we head out there early Friday morning from the Lancaster area, everything goes fine until we get to Baker and fuel up the truck. As I’m doing a walk around of the rig my brother points out a huge bubble in the sidewall of one of my tires! So we change it out no problem. Get to the dunes and and have a good time all weekend. One of our neighbors went out there for the first time also so we talked to them for a while. My buggy ran good all weekend, we helped out a few fellow duners who were having some issues out near the North Pole. Generally had a good time and can’t wait to go back. But.... then on the way home we had some problems! My dads truck has a blow out on the 15, I looked in my mirror just as it blew, wow it was carnage! It smashed up the side of his truck pretty good, he said guess it’s time to make it a flat bed!!! We put the spare on and continued home. We definately had some tire issues this trip. When we got home I’m unloading the buggy and notice trans fluid all over the floor of the trailer πŸ˜”. It looks like the shift shaft seal popped out, I was beat so I’ll look at it tomorrow or........ overall a good weekend, we will repair and rebuild and be out there soon!! The bubble in that pic doesn’t really do it justice, it got bigger by the time I let the air out!!!

  6. I had a great time. Didn't bring my ride, just planned on camping and chillin. Arrived Friday night and got some pizza going on the pizzazz had some dinner, then headed to the camp fire for visiting. Played a couple rounds of beer pong. And ended up at the campfire chatting and visiting until 4 AM! I haven't seen 4 AM in a long time, well at least staying up until then. But the conversations were too good to stop. Slid into bed like a ninja and didn't wake anyone up! 8:00 AM later that day, up and ready to start the day. I was a bit worried about how Sandy, the new pup, would act with all the dogs in camp, but she did really good. Made some breakfast while everyone went on a ride. Tried to go back to sleep, but couldn't so Bloody Mary time it was. Hung out in camp visiting with everyone and introducing Sandy to the camp. While everyone went on another ride, I went ahead and laid down for a nap while they were gone. More like laying in bed reading my book, but it was relaxing. I had planned to ride shotgun with Mike up to our sunset hill. But Mike had other plans, and insisted that I ride shotgun for the sunset cruise. So I prepped myself for that! 😳 Maybe I'm just braver now or just driving my own, has given me a better perspective... but I had a complete blast! Watched the sun go down and then attempted to go over to the trunk or treat and find Jason, no luck! The turn out for Trunk or Treat was off the hook!!! We supported the vendors and bought some dinner, headed back to camp and everyone had gone to the haunted house. We heard that was pretty cool too. Then it was a run out to comp hill. Just in time to catch a glimpse of the dude stage... Hey, I didn't mind the dude stage, but I am a chick, so there is that! I know you dudes like to see the chicks up there, but sometimes its a nice chance of pace for us to get a turn! However the rangers made quick work of putting a stop to it, as they should. Back at camp and laughing our off until 2:20 AM. This was probably the absolute best Halloween weekend I have had out there in a long time, but this was the first Halloween in a while that we were actually in camp and not working our butts off on Vendor Row. Who knows, maybe I'll even ride with Mike again... I had so much fun I didn't take one single picture...

  8. Ahhh yeah I forgot that. That's important. Kurtis knocked out the fix in about 30 minutes after picking up the parts. I tell people "It's not as bad as it looks." They never believe me. Helping people in this pickle is essential. Most are lost, dazed and confused as what to do.

  9. Kurtis, our friend in another camp from Down Under Taco'd his Rzr in a bowl near the North Pole. His fellow campers, (except Drew) abandon him and went back to camp for dinner. We happened by and got him disassembled, ratcheted up and Fernando drove his Rzr back to camp and I got this video. The next day Kurtis went into town and got all the parts needed to get back on the dunes again.

  11. Gotta do what ya gotta do! Nice. It also helps to ratchet strap the suspension down in the opposite corner from the failed corner. It's a bit safer. πŸ‘

  12. Great info @Dive Bar Casanova. Thanks! Amazon ended up refunding my $ so I'll be picking one up eventually. I love hearing all the reviews though. Keep them coming.

  13. We had the Honda i2000 and it has 1000's of hours on it. Couldn't quite run the microwave unless most everything else was turned off. Finally, it suffered the dreaded oil leak from a crack in the crankcase the older models are subject to. We bought the Honda i2200 and it's much improved. Can run the microwave with other RV electronics running, not the AC of course. Excellent generator. Runs over 8 hours 1/4 load. They improved the gas fill neck and oil drain and a gas shut off, a BFD. It's heavier more iron and copper on the winding but manageable. Easily accommodates the girls blow dryers and other electrical gizmos they run in the bathroom. Use a thick dia cord hooking it to your RV. Makes a difference. The HF Predator 2000 is worth a look. Priced right. Check the You Tube videos on the demons you may encounter if the Predator is considered. Especially the Predator 3500. Campers are having generally good experiences with both and they really are quiet. Friend Fernando just bought the 3500 and experienced the air starvation issue. I gave him a handful of 1" dia Uni plug filters and that solved the problem when installed in the housing. Drill 1" holes they pop in. It runs his 1500 btu AC with ease and is very quiet. Priced right. We have the Handi i3000 and it's great. Grudgingly will run the AC. We have the Honda i3000 as well and it'll run the 15000 BTU RV AC if not too hot a day and it's in the shade. Others we camp with experience the same. They may over heat and shut down or separate from the load. It has slightly more power than the Handi 3000.

  14. Hold that thought. It's a good trick with most vehicles especially if they go into walk mode.

  17. We had alot of fun this Halloween! The turnout was huge as it has been the last couple years. We tried a new camp spot this year and loved it. There were still a ton of trick-or-treaters that came through with some awesome costumes. Never made it over to the trunk or treat because we were too busy in camp having fun. Glad to see @mineurbiz and the Romo Motorsports crew in the wacky inflatable arm flailing tube man costumes. πŸ˜† Every year they go all out! I've never seen so many damn side x sides in my entire life. Dumont sure has changed since I started going out. I miss seeing all the different buggies and homemade stuff you used to see out there. There used to be really fast stuff at the hill and chicks dancing around. Now we have dudes dancing and pretty lame races, if any at all. LOL The one thing I noticed and really liked this year was good dune etiquette! Everyone seemed to be very smart in the dunes and watch out for each other. As many lines of other duners we came across, most everyone looked like they were alert and smart about avoiding close calls. Weather was WARM during the day, but we hunkered down in the AC and had a really good time in camp. We found out @Dent boy's new baller motorhome holds like 20 people. hahaa We burned through all our race gas and beer in the 4 days we were there. It was a great weekend! Pics...

  18. Got there Wednesday around noon. Already a pretty good turnout. Found plenty of untracked sand on the way to the north pole and while looking for friends at the little dunes. I don't think the road was graded at all but the stream was dry so water probably had to be trucked? Didn't see any helicopters so that was a HUGE plus! Don't know of any significant injuries. Happy about that. It's amazing too considering the crowds. Heard people say biggest turnout in years. I thought so too. Comp hill had a small turnout thursday night, bigger on friday night and super-sized on saturday night. The front row was a huge traffic jam after someone towed in a portable stage with male dancers who parked right in the driving lane. Not into dudes so that fiasco was avoided by me but looking at the clusterflock, people seemed to be "into" it. ???? Rangers finally broke it up but the damage was done. The stage (unfortunately) overshadowed halloween festivities. But that's just my opinion, what do I know. Looked around for the cell tower construction and didn't find anything. Did I miss it? Maybe? McFlurry was missing but Ronald and the Hamburglar were present! Granny rode with me Saturday night , we tested the big cat at the north pole.... Last picture, packed and time to go home, kind of a drag.

  19. If it's an electrical problem with the computer, sometimes if you disconnect the battery for half an hour or so it will cause the computer to reset. May or may not help, but worth a try. I know it's too late for the OP, but keep that in your mind if something ever happens to you.
