We went out, the sand is still pretty wet and what wind they may have gotten was NOT enough to do any good. Camping areas are rough as well as the dunes being really tore up.

I agree David I saw what was done Wed. night and what happened by morning. That dozer filled in a hole at least 5 ft deep. by morning it was worse than before. The bucket on a backhoe couldn't even touch the bottom. Even a little bit is better than what it was. They went up Sperry Wash Rd to try and divert the water the dozer left said there wasn't much he could do at that time there was alot more water than the had thought. Doesn't matter now anyway they are working on it in hopes of getting it fixed. If they get up dates great, if not, take your chances.

Sounds possible, if it broke loose again. Thats what happened the other night. They tried to divert the water up Sperry Wash rd. and by morning the water had broke through. Thursday morning it was 3 rivers 2 had been huge. There is a chance that if it broke through with that much water being held back the 3 rivers made 1 huge one. Me, no matter if it may look passable or not I wouldn't chance tearing my stuff up till that stuff was clear of that water( down to one small river accross the concrete) and well compacted.

Night 1, parked trailer next to Sperry Wash Rd. Entrance to Dumont was pretty much screwed. Charlie hooked up with unknown people, We will just call Utah. These other people showed up and apparently didn't like me flashing my lights at them when they pulled in. Watched the dozer do his thing, he left about 3am. Got up in the AM and decided to go to little D. Couldn't have asked for any better weather. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend period. Can't remember laughing so much or so hard. Met some new people which just added to the great time. Friday night was pretty mellow but Saturday night is off the charts. Charlie gave us a whole new meaning to FIRE CROTCH! He has also become a real social butterfly, he was the official camp host for the weekend greeting random people that didn't even camp with us. Red & Blue flashing lights can be oh so much fun! I only wish I could remember a quarter of the antics that went on. I'm sure someone else could add a little more to this thread if they remember.

Not really a topic but who cares! Just wanted to tell EVERYONE MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Hope everybody enjoys their holidays with good health, happiness friends, family, animals or dunes. What ever it is your doing I hope it's good.

All the places that people dumped the oil from their turkey fryers, the crows dig a hole in that area looking for what ever scraps might be there, leaves these holes that sneak up on you. Some are good sized.

No we are not still there, had to come home for a couple of days It rained off and on Saturday and Saturday night. Wind blew too. I just wish it had blown first then rained. Maybe a dozen trailers & MH. Stayed cloudy all 4 days sun came out maybe twice? Charlie rode a little I got some cleaning done in the trailer, Doesn't matter anytime away from work, town & all the other crap that irratates me is a good time. We should be back out Thurs. night

Spent 2 weeks up there, It was great!!!! Even got to take a little side trip for a day to Yellowstone,100 miles from the dunes. Took an extra day going up the whole trip was soooo worth it. Major caution if you have never been there before though.
