  1. Went and saw Chris today. The place he is at has got to be one of the nicest and cleanest rehab facilities I have ever walked into. We talked about how great the people of DDR have been to him and his family and how many people came to support him. It made me feel good to know that I could just pull up this website and read the "Grimace updates" and feel like I was right there. This website and everyone involved rocks.
  2. I'm not a child nor do I have kids, but I do have asmatha. I was perscribed ADVAIR and have only used the rescue inhailer a few times in the last couple months. Works wonders. It lists every side effect in the book, but I have suffered none of those, only good breathing. Fairly expensive but worth it to breathe well all day long.
  3. Nice, Happy 40th Randy. I might have to slap around your brother(Grimace) a little for not giving the heads up. Its not like my wifes parents live on the next street over or anything. Oh well, thats enough crying for me. So happy birthday again and we'll see you in the sand.
  4. I work for a company that installs and recharges extinguishers. Halitron is the new Halon. Just as expensive without all the downsides of Halon.
  5. Must be nice living close to work. My wife and I are good for about $600-$800 a month on gas. Thought we'd move a little further away to save money on our house. That worked for about the first year till property values went in the toilet and gas prices took off. Way to think things through huh. :smoker:

    Hands Free

I heard the same thing about the texting. As long as your not physically holding the phone to your ear. So Bluetooth, speaker phone or any hands free device and your legal.
  7. We are leaving on the 4th for Kauai for a week. Get married on April 20th go on the honeymoon July 4th. We can't wait to get out there and chill real hard. Maybe do a little :bar: and a little then probably and then we'll wake up looking :moon: So it will probably be like every other vacation we go on, with the exception of blue water, white sand beaches and everyone saying "Aloha" and Brah". As long as the airline buisness is still up and running it should be a good time.
  8. Almost everything is tied together somehow. My buddy owns a car lot in Upland and gets calls all the time from RE agents and Loan Officers that are trying to get rid of their Lexus's and Benz's cause they cant afford the payments anymore. They are trading them in for Civic's and Camry's. He is getting the trade ins for dirt cheap but the probelm is that he cant rurn around and sell them. Like yourself I also have another job to keep a paycheck going. I am licensed to service and install fire extinguishers. Recession proof job, the State Fire Marshall makes sure of that. Get them serviced or they fine you or shut you down. Not as easy as appraisals but the money is just as good.
  9. I have only been doing this for about 3 1/2 years. How about you? The lender requests for the conventional loans are just about freaking rediculous. Most of the things they want are not even required. The FHA loans were pretty rare due to their loan limits. In california we have been out of the $200,000's for quite some time. Most of the houses I have done have just been complete disasters and are in much need of some repairs. I like to be as positive as I can, and i just dont see how the values could drop much lower. This is still California and people flock here.
  10. As of a couple of weeks ago we started to get slammed with business. We are doing a lot of FHA jobs since they raised the loan values. They are all bank owned properties and people are getting into them for so cheap that I dont even have to try and get the value. My advice for you would be to get FHA certified. No more test, its just a matter of filling out the form and sending it in. Oh, and learning all the stupid FHA requirements. Like how thick the insulation is. Stupid. Good luck.
  11. Ha ha, thanks for the congrats, I think. I am a Real Estate Appraiser, she is a Teacher. This was the only way to get health insurance without spending a fortune.
  12. For the most part this is a great topic for me. I am actually getting married this Sunday. So seeing all the advice and do's and dont's I should be able to make this work for a while. :6pak:
  13. Being a Real Estate Appraiser here in So. Cal we are definitley feeling the pinch.
  14. I also have the Pro Grips. They have worked great for me. No sand through the goggles yet.
  15. There is a place in Baker at the top of the town if coming from So Cal. It is on the left hand side. Last I was there I just looked for a big a$$ propane tank due to the buisness or whatever it is looking like a house. The guy said for the right price he would do fill ups at night but for the most part its a daylight operation. This has been a fews years since I have been there but per the guy at Mobil it was the only place in town that refilled propane.
  16. Thank you to all. I'm not the biggest picture taker, but good thing my friends are. I should have some pictures sometime this week to post.
  17. My girlfriend of about 3 years and I just got engaged this past weekend in Dumont. I asked her on Saturday to go for a little ride and we ended up on the front dune just above a-1 on the grid map and with ring in hand I popped the question. We rode back to camp and all our friends had there bikes and rails linded up in 2 rows and someone put rose petals on the ground. They were reving their bikes and shooting off fireworks. It was way cool, and my girlfriend seemed to be the happiest girl in the world that day. I just thought I would share this cause she always gives me crap about being on this site and not hanging with her. So at least now she can read this and see that I was talking about her. That should buy me a few free nights of un interrupted DDR time. Oh and by the way she said yes.
  18. That thing is bad a$$.
  19. Just wanted to give an update to the overspray removal. We used denatured alcohol and a soft cloth. Worked like a champ. There were a few spots that we had to rub a little hard. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the neighbor waiting a few months before he brought this to my attention. Anyway thanks for all the advice I appreciate it. :eatdrink021:
  20. Thanks for all of the advice, I will probably start out with the easier sounding stuff and then work my way forward. This site is awesome. If you have a question, just type it out and sit back for a day or so and BAM you have like 10 different ideas. I will probably handle it sometime soon and give an update on what I used and how it worked. Maybe I should wait a few months to fix it since the jack hole waited a few months to tell me.
  21. Thanks for the info, I was hoping I would get a response from you since I know this is your field. I'll give an update when I try everything out. :whacky101:
  22. What up Randy. He said that he just didn't want to bother me which I guees is why he took so long to tell me. He drives the thing all the time, he's just busy I guess. The truck is like a 04-06 Dodge Dakota. White. I'll for sure post the results. Hopefully they are good results.
