  1. Where in Adelanto do they have the grand prix? As far as the crowd Bob described, sounds about right for Adelanto. I am a Real Estate Appraiser and live in Hesperia and can tell you Adelanto is the butthole of the high desert. Every neighborhood you go into either has a trashed yard or a for sale sign. Trashed yard for the renters and for sale signs for the owners. I would bet more than 50% of the renters in Adelanto are section 8 and the other half of the renters are there cause they have a relative or homey in the jail.
  2. looks like the begining of what could be a whole back peice.
  3. I used to dune the hell out of my truck. Chevy z71 with a k&n and the hypertech programer to boost up the rev limiter, a bottle of captin and 10 pounds of pressure in the tires. :mc_smiley: Not many places in Dumont or Glamis my truck hasen't seen. Did that for about 2 years till my rear end literally exploded right when I got home after towing my 24' toy hauler home. That was a few years ago when the dunes were a tad less crowded. Now that I have seen the error in my ways and realize that I need to tow something home I dont even unhitch. I only really got stuck when I did something stupid like going to slow and straight and high centering myself. But I always knew how to get myself out. Those pictures of that guy in the Titan are typical of what we see every time we go out. 5 dudes in a truck, no bikes, with nothing but an ice chest full of Budwiser. There are a few of these people that are really dangerous but for the most part it's good time to see how long it will take them to get stuck and an even better time watching them think of creative ways to get unstuck, like trying to push the a$$ around instead of just putting it in reverse like Original pimp said. As long as these idiots keep showing up, i'll keep watching and laughing.
  4. God would I love to rail those, oh I mean god would i love to drive those rails. :yeah_whatever:
  5. My first bike was also the honda trail 70. I believe the color was olive green. Then kx 125, yamaha 490, 250. kx 500. yz 426f and now KTM 525.
  6. My bad Kayla it was PetSmart. Just got clarification from the girlfriend.
  7. I do find it funny that once people know that you dont care if they camp with you or not they stop the complaining. It always seems like its the people that are fairly new to. oh well go figure.
  8. We just took her to the vet the other day. she's 4 months old and 40 pounds. per petco the crate is supposed to be for up to a 110lb dog. we'll see though. as far as the yankee comment goes i'll leave it alone. i'm just trying to make her a fan. B)
  9. yea I know, but it sounds like a lot more when you say almost a 1000lbs
  10. I pull my trailer with a 1/2 ton and I can feel the difference when starting out. I have a 120 gallon fresh tank. Thats an extra almost 1000 lbs I dont want to be towing for very long.
  11. My girlfriends family would always whine about the spot I picked 2 days earlier when no one was there. I finally got fed up with it after the 3rd trip and told them to go camp by themselves. Needless to say they stopped bitching and even tell me what good spots i get now.

    weather

Its supposed to be in the low 80's on super bowl sunday.
  13. This is our lab Holly. Shes a little bigger now. All she really does is sleep. Which I can definitly respect.
  14. well I may have been a bit misleading. I had to rebuild the kx 500 every year for sure and i owned that for 5 years. the yz i only owned for 2 years and rebuilt once. I am using the kx 500 for my basis of comparison for the 2 stroke to 4 stroke. I should have been more clear. I never had a problem with mixing the gas just like you said 32:1 My biggest problem was always mixing to much gas or my "hey i forgot 2-stroke oil" friends "borrowing gas" and then not having enough gas. Since I went to 4 stroke Its never been a problem again. Extra gas goes in the truck. I definitly agree with you on the extra expense of rebuilding the 4 stroke. I had to replace every gear in the 426 in a span of 2 years and that wasnt cheap. But the top end was fine. Since I went with the ktm though I have been told things should be better :ahhhhh: only time will tell I guess. I would never talk any one into or out of either one. Its just what I like.
  15. Personally I like 4 strokes better. I currently ride a ktm 525 and before that I had a yamaha 426. I have also owned a yz 250 and a kx 500 in the past and those were great. I just got tired of rebuilding the top end every year. Dont get me wrong the 426 still had problems they just wern't as frequent. Although the 426 was a little more $ to repair. So far the only problem the ktm has given me is that when it was brand new it liked to overheat. So after reading the manual and finding out that the bike is set up for riding in austria i chanded the jetting and the needle. Havent had any problems since. knock on wood. Plus I'm lazy and dont like mixing fuel. I like using the same gas that i can put in the generator or my truck if theres any left.
  16. STR8PMP I have always wanted that but i dont really have anything nice enough to be worthy of it.
  17. along with the valero you can also fill water and dump at i believe its the chevron. its directly across the road from the mad greek. they have 2 dump stations and 2 water spickets. its to the right of the gas pumps if your staring at the store part of the station.
  18. I know Grimmace scored on that car Randy I was just messing with you guys. I don't think were going to make it this weekend, that freaking new house payment is killing us a little. But we are probably going to make a day run next saturday. Those are cheap and easy. I talked to roger and he said he might be in for the same thing. Wish we could be there to ride with you this weekend but maybe next time for some serious and and a little
  19. you should beat up that randog guy(i mean your brother) for selling you a rail with a broken tranny. :ahhhhh:
  20. Wassup Randog, gotta love Roger and his creative repairs.
  21. I hear that same rule also includes people that live in Hesperia.
  22. Definitley nothing like smooth dunes. Wish you could have been on the inside of the camp Randy but thats what happens when Bonk tries to run things . How did you like those freaking jerks at the end of the camp that only Albert knew. Lit a fire 5' from to Art's fuel station and parked their trailor less than 10' feet from mine, and then had the nerve to blast Earth Angel out of the exterior speakers right into my window. I was the first one in camp and I had to move. Parked next to Martin, who was a really cool guy. . Nothing but good times from then on. Hopefully next time their will be more time for riding and less time for wind. . All in all great trip though, it's almost impossible to not have a good time in Dumont. and do it all over again. BTW found the South Pole.
  23. I have a ktm 525 and lost my roller in Glamis last year on the first day. Somewhere between staring at my bike and the tool box i figured a 1/4' 10mm socket would work, and it did. It worked so good i left it on for the next trip also. or maybe i left it on there cause i forgot about it, or im just lazy. either way it worked good. :chev_bowtie:
