We've yet to see a four stroke (quad engine) built in the same way as one of those drag shess. I'd like to see a four stroke engine from a quad (not a streetbike motor): Billet everything. big titanium valves. intercooled turbo. 35psi boost. runnning alky with a dash of nitro. Spraying a splash of NOS. HPR is doing something like that (minus the turbo) to run heavy nitromethan with a DS650. I feel like we need to stick with turbos/blowers, whatever. The nature of a 2stroke pipe gives a bike like a banshee sort of a fake turbo. It actually sucks the cylinder clean and then forces it overfull on the rebound pulse. A good 2stroke pipe does much of what we use a turbo/blower for. We are bringing in our high compression, cammed, big bore, bikes and competing with a banshee that has almost nothing left on them that still factory and we wonder why we lose... I think the real problem is for the less money we can just do a conversion bike and run a streetbike motor. That's what guys do instead of really build a 4 stroke quad engined banshee killer.

Awesome, that's a good idea... strip off one front and one rear tire to lighten the quad up... that will really rip up banshee hill! Must have done a lot of frame work to get the bike to ride true. That's a YFZ right?

Yea everyone was real nice, Ken has a great shop there. The food was nice there was plently of soda and it was overcast outside so it wasn't too hot. My cameras batteries were nearly dead when I showed up so I only took a few shots of the bike and stuff. I misssed all the cool stuff like the mini go-cart rally racing (complete with water ballons) oh and little things like taking pictures of the people at the party.....LOL I tried just before we started to leave but it was too dark for video.... OH well Dunefreak will have lots of pics. I sure wish more bikes had showed up. I would have loved to seen some of the drag Zs of 700rs or whatever. We were taking turns in the parking lot doing burn outs. Throw a little water on the ground and see how long you could hold it. That actually lasted a couple hours (maybe 6 burnouts) before the people next door freaked out...LOL That put an end to the loud bikes but not the quiet Can-am... Wheelie time! I had alot of fun. Nice people..

We used to pick up money from that Nathans and the manager was such a jerk. When we heard of this we thought, either he got bombed or did the bombing... But it turns out it was unrelated.

Whoops missed this thread...LOL Yes that was kinda cool.. the KFX700 doesn't get much attention in the mags. In fact I think that was the first KFX with more than double the stock RWHP to ever appear in a mag.. Here's the full page. You guys notice the bike still had more than enough torque to break those tires loose...LOL It will be more fun when I get the swingarm extension because I will be able to leave the footpegs on...ha ha. I did put the plastic back on but for the high speed runs I took it off again.
