Found this on the internet Updates: Poomacha, Witch, Rice and Harris fires Posted @ 9:13 AM The Harris Fire is now 73,000 acres, suppression costs are at $2.5 million. There are 759 firefighters assigned. The fire was held at the edge of Chula Vista and Spring Valley. The returning onshore flow has moved the fire to the northeast threatening structures along Highway 94 from Jamul to the east and Jamacha to the west. Lyons Peak was burned and the fire jumped perimeter control lines in the area. The Witch Fire is still 196,420 acres, but now 10% contained, suppression costs are at $2.3 million. There have been 12 injuries to firefighters. There are 1,841 firefighters assigned to this fire. The fire will continue to move east threatening the communities of Julian and Pine Hills. Fire has potential to move north and join with the Poomacha Fire. Fire spread to west and southwest is still a potential. There have been 645 structures destroyed – 250 damaged. 100 commercial properties destroyed – 75 destroyed. 50 outbuildings destroyed – 50 damaged. The Rice Fire is 7,500 acres and 15% contained. 1 firefighter has been injured. Cost to date to fight the fire is $585,000. Red Flag conditions during daylight hours. De Luz and Fallbrook are evacuated. Over 400 structures in De Luz and Northern Fallbrook area threatened. The Poomacha Fire 25,000 acres and 0% contained. 659 firefighters assigned to this fire. Cost to fight this fire is $350,000. Fire increased in size due to extreme fire behavior, lack of resources and high winds. Some resources are beginning to arrive, but no significant perimeter control has been initiated due to structure protection priorities.

There are evacuation places set up all over the place. I think the fire that started in my area of work has gotten over 22,000 acres already. It is getting close to my house now. We are about 5 miles north of it but the fire seems to be moving south and west of us so we are ok for now. It's very surreal around here. Alot of travel trailers in the big parking lots nearby and alot of livestock being moved to where they can take them. I am off today and tomorrow and am biting ot the bit to get back out there and help but at the same time I need to make sure my family is ok first and foremost. I want to offer up my motorhome to someone that needs it but at this point I might need it myself here in the next day or so.
  4. Anytime Bob. glad u didn't need to take me up on the offer and made it home safe... see you in the sand!

I will explain these later...sorry I have family getting evacuated and coming to my house. everyone is safe but waiting on the fire to see if the homes make it.
  8. I am working the Harris Fire in Potrero. I watched it start from a small blaze and is now over 14000 acres when I went to bed last night. This is the area I patrol and I am sure it will be pretty barron there when I get out there in a couple hours. One man is dead because he wouldn't leave his home. 4 Firefighters were overcome in their engine and were severly burned. The Fire in Ramona is very close to my best friends home (10 Blocks) I spoke with him and he was loading up and taking pictures of everything he couldn't take with him. Ramona was closed to incoming traffic so I couldn't go help him (that is a helpless feeling!!!) It is going to get worse before it gets better here, I just hope we don't lose anymore people to this! I will try to keep you guys posted!! Tim
  9. I have done that ride about 6 times now Pete. Its a rush every time! Avoid the Rollercoaster, I asked the employees if they would ride it and they sad NO WAY! wheels like to fall off it. And the See-Saw ride is Dumb too, did it and it sucked. Go inside to the observation deck and lay on the glass that tilts out. 1000 ft straight down!!! thats cool too Oh yeah- there is a place called Crazy Horse 2. You might want to check and see if the horse has come back. last time I went there I didn't see no horse!
  10. Nope it wasn't me. I am sure the agent is busy writing his Dear Chief letter for that! Alot of the time we hit the ground running and leave the keys in the ride with the truck still on. I busted a load vehicle last saturday and did just that. But I didn't go too far from my truck for reasons like that. I got 12 that were trying to load into a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Alot of stuff like this happens that doesn't make the news. That stolen truck was recovered pretty fast and I bet the agent was sweating bullets for a while. And to as how it happened... Who knows? Our cages in the rear aren't all properly secured like they need to be and anyone can open them. So it just depends on his truck and if it was properly locked to secure the illegals in the back. Alot of them can slide their hands from their back to the front while cuffed. Knock on wood that hasn't happened to me!! I will take a broken window anyday over that!!!
  11. The sad thing is that he will probably be put into some sort of isolation. Even the worst offenders in prison get more respect than a petifile. He is the bottom of the food chain in prison and if was in general population he would be dead in a matter of hours. Not that I have a problem with that at all.
  12. Bob check here. I don't see a white one but the black and white one is close. http://www.caribcon.com/hats.html I found this while looking and had a good laugh!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...bayphotohosting

    V-Rex

I approve of the color!!! nice car!
  14. That rear step is a great idea! What's with the mini stripper pole though? what is that for?
  15. Let me know!! I can handle that 3 hour drive to Glamis anytime!!!!
  16. Looks like an great starter buggy. the motor might be under powered for the big hills but it will do fine anywhere else.
  17. you can mount the main unit behind your turning brakes. but the radio will need a place as well. I will go take a pic of my dash and show you. ok, under my LOWRANCE GPS is the unit for the headsets. (Volume and Squelch) then on the upper right is the race radio. The radio does not need to be on for the intercom or music to work.
  18. Bob- Aslong as you know what frequency the other car is on you will be good to go. The people in your car can hear what eachother is saying but if you hit the push to talk button then everyone can hear what you have to say. I think the price is a bit steep. shop around and hit an off-road show for a special like I did and saved $100.00. Most systems are IPOD/XM ready which is a huge plus if you ride alone and want something to pump you up. And yes you can butt in on other folks. it is not a private radio system although some people get butthurt if you use it while they are on it too. :beer_bang: On my system either the driver or co-driver and talk because we both have the pust to talk button. the people in the back can only talk in car.
  19. Bob-- I have the PCI Intercom set up. I love it!!! I can talk car to car with the button on the wheel, or even camp if there is a radio left behind there as well. My IPOD can be heard at any time, I can bypass the talking of the people in the car and just hear the music. Or turn the music down and still talk to the people with music just audible. I can hear the motor at all times. I even heard your motor in my headset as we rode! My system was $1500.00 for the four person set-up. Add $300.00 more and it will expand to 5 people. It is alot of money but DAMN it is worth it!! I have an Apple IPOD 6 gig and I have 1200 songs in it.
  20. After a long 7 hour drive home I pulled in at 4 pm.... I had a great time again and it was very cool to meet and hangout with Barefoot Bob and his family. Also there camped with us was Big Red and bob's friend James and one more family that I can't remember the guys name (sorry) but his long travel vw powered rail hung with us no problem. I missed out on the fast ride Saturday morning and was very bummed but my daughter just couldn't let me go. talked her into a ride about 30 minutes later and we hit comp hill about 40 times it seemed like. According to my GPS you can't tell how many times we went up it is one huge blur on the screen right there. The South Pole meet was big!! I met a few faces with screen-names. Dinicolady and Desertskys were the first I met. I also met quite a few others as they came up to my car to and complimented it (thanks for that) Here are the names I remember- ragdollmx don29palms budlightbob and wife paul rob joe duner ogp sin city blonde (i looked for you to give you a ride) and I know I am forgetting alot here!!! enuff of that here are the pics can't wait to do it again
  21. Damn Bob that had to of been a real testing time for you till you got to your boy. Atleast he got most of this weekend in before he had the accident. Glad all he got was just a lil rash and no long-term injuries to show for it. P.S. Thanks for letting me camp with you...My daughter had a blast with the other kids (after she stopped being shy).
  22. You have to BE THERE to get a ride!!!! lol You got it Nick!
  23. Yep I am in!! I am bringing my oldest daughter and my father-in-law. I am planning on leaving about 6 or 7 am. Pete bring a few t-shirts for me.. XL for me and a kids if you have one. I will burn a copy of that BP video I have and give it you you. See you all tomorrow!!!!!!!!!
