  1. might have to pass on that rum next time. woke up with a headache the next morning.
  2. how do you call someone a wuss politely? keep telling him nicely over and over his first jump was the best. btw i have met nothing but a good bunch of folks from this board. wanted to say much appreciated to everyones hospitality.
  3. just got back to homebase and still dusting the sand off. heh after leaving Dumont I decided to take a little side trip and stop by Calico "Ghost Town" to prospect for gold. all they have is silver there. so thats why that late response on those pics bob. i will get them out to you tonight'ish. as bob said i took the new hauler out. if anyone is dragging low in the backend you will leave your a$$ at the river. casters sure did come in handy they better get some dirt in there fast or it aint gonna be pretty. one part i beg to differ on the story, that is NOT a washboad road. those are now officially small whoops in my book. i was shaken up so bad i nearly puked. on the way out i did 3 mph and that seemed to work. yeh i know, 3mph. as for the battery problem, someone put it better. more like "driver error." i was so excited when i loaded up the buggy i left ignition and lights on. i got a really good ride in, thank you James' for the lead. it was fun playing catch up to the big boys in my little rail. but she handled good and ran strong. the newly fixed turning brake works freaking awesome. i never would have been able to keep up with them without it. i did flub a couple transitions, but dang what a difference have the brake helps. i now know the true meaning of a "moonless night" that was a bit scary. i almost got lost playing on the small finger dune by camp. bobs' first jump was the best, James' last jump was the best. when James' decides to lose his skills....... at least he did it flyin pretty! that was a beauty of a jump. course i saw james turn 3 different shades of white in mid air. How'd he do that? when bob loses his skills, he decides to not do it in front of newly met friends, and no cameras around. what a great time was had. big thanks to bob and the crew for having us out. your car is mother effin smokin HOT! i bet it even looks pretty when its stuck! bob thanks again. i will be out there halloween for sure..... Lord willing........... ok off to a much needed nap......safe duning.
  4. ok I figured out where it is. How is the sand out there in Coral Pink? Good riding? Big area? Thanks for everyones help.
  5. where is coral pink at? and how is the riding out there for sand rails? my rail will be finished up tomorrow and i am itching for some sand.
  6. Dang thats a big drop to take and make it through. Wishes on a speedy recovery to your friend.
  7. If you sure the drivers are installed, and that the computer recognized the card. Go to start, control panel, network connections, w2k might say network places, i cant remember for sure. anyhow, look for your wireless connection. is it there? if so, right click over the wireless network connection, go to properties, then start clicking the subtabs at the top. You should find one window that will have a box where you can put a checkmark in it, next to the box it says something like, "let windows find the wireless network." Again make sure its checked. If that doesnt work. Try reinstalling the drivers. Hope this helps.
  8. they are probably on a morning ride. man i got the itch so bad. dropping my rail off to the fabricators on Monday, having a couple welds fixed and I am pretty much ready. Just gotta buy a new carb and slap it on. I need my sand fix!!!
  9. Sucks everytime I hear something like this. Minor, my kudos to you for stepping up and taking action. From your account, you did all you could.
  10. Cant make it. Still getting the buggy ready for the season and havent got to the lights yet.
  11. I am in Cali dunefreak. Tried to meet up with you on prez weekend. But my gf was on "ruin the trip" patrol. So was dealing with that. BTW she did a damn good job. So expect to see me at Dumont every freakin day I can this next season. Ynot, As for leaving your rig on the side of the road. Maybe not the side of the road. The CHP has a "special" spot reserved just for you if you dont produce the right drivers license. So pretty much you just pull down to the next exit to this parking lot. Or whatever place they have waiting , and yes, you leave your trailer there. Or call AAA if you have it. Thats what I woulda done if stuck in that situation. Dont think i would want to leave my rig there. And as for scales, sh*t. If they dont have the scales with them they can get them real fast. So dont underestimate the man when he is looking to make extra bank.
  12. I just got my Class A non commercial about a month ago. it was a piece of cake. I could of probably passed the test without reading the book, but i do suggest you read it. Once you pass the test you have one year to take a driving test which I hear is a total piece of cake also. Actually looking forward to the driving test. They make sure you know how to hookup, check your load and all before you takeoff. They also check to see if you can back up into a "camping spot" that are cones laid out. And they check to see how well you exit and enter a freeway. Thats about all I remember from the book. CHP just started setting themselves just outside the dunes, and enforcing the laws already on the books. When the big rigs would come over the hill,,, forgetaboutit. And they know 99% of the time you wont have the license. So my advice go get your Class A NON Commercial license for a small nominal fee. Instead of paying the bigger fee and having to talk to the man. Once again, the test is a piece of cake. Only like 15 questions I beleive. And you can miss three answers. Folks save yourself a lot of hassle. They are going to start cracking down hard on this. ps. There also was a medical part that consisted of a questionaire that asks your conditions, and your doctors info. I imagine if you have any kind of problems that would mess with you driving so much weight, they need to clear it with your DR. first.
  13. maybe you will feel more comfortable........ if next time you bring some golf clubs to match the cart.
  14. I have thought of that. however, I am pulling with a GMC Envoy. Not sure the SUV will do it. I am already at about 90% pulling capacity with full load. As for trailers, gonna have to end up buying one. fairly new to the area up here, and havent met many buds yet. plus I am stuck online all the time, so that doesnt help, until i found this site. lol been looking around for a good deal to pass through on a trailer and snag it up.
  15. Yep, barneycar saved the day! Hopefully when you come out Sunday we can hook up for some duning? And I think I owe you a couple drinks anyways. Does anyone know of a list of all the scheduled rides, and races going on this weekend? I want to make sure to not miss the races if there are some.
  16. yeh man, i been going through hell since we purchased the TH and the rail doesnt fit. the girlfriend has been putting me through the ringer. i dont blame her though, measure twice, cut once. Thank you for vouching. Dumont here we come!
  17. Big Red will be there for the ride.
  18. Big Red will be there wednesday. Sign me up! The trip is all set. wooooohooooooo See you there DDR!
  19. pulling it with an GMC Envoy. Not sure they would make a kit for it?? Where can you purchase these?
  20. was in the garage tinkering with the rail. and started looking at the paddles. they are ate up like freddy krugers face. does anyone know if there will be vendors out there(dumont) selling paddles? I have one new one, but I cant see myself putting on the new one. I will be doing doughnuts all day long. the tires did ok last time we were out there. but a new set would really set it off. Or does anyone know of a place that overnights? I can order it on monday.
  21. the chasis wont fit through the front part. lol it doesnt matter how high you lift it, it wont squeeze through there. I will be bringing my lil one, she is 8 yrs old. first time out to dunes for her so she is really excited. she will have her new quad I just got her for christmas. Thank you so much for the camp invite. If things fall through with Andy, you are next on my list. camping alone last time, sucked!!!!! and riding alone was even so much worse. heck, i think i wont mind the crowd at all this weekend. lol I would also like to thank "barneycar" for offering to pull the rail out there for a small nominal fee. can anyone vouch for him? my girlfriend is freaking saying he will steal our rail. lol
  22. thats one of the first things I thought of, it wont fit. the refridge is on one side, and the range hood on the other. only other idea that ""might" work. is back the buggy in, lift front end of buggy. make some kind of supports, whatever, but the back ramp will be open about a foot. i know, i know, grasping for straws. if you are offering to pull my rail out there, that would be a God send. i am just gonna rent one of those uhaul car haulers to get through this trip. last week i missed a great deal on a flatbed by a couple mins. man, you guys have really been a big help. i really appreciate everyone offering help. a really good family here, just trying to get out to the dunes. but dad, being me, didnt measure the darn rail right. so right now, i just wanna go so if you guys can help me outta this bind. much much appreciated. cause i dont wanna get rid of the rail, and i for sure dont want to miss out on this weekend. again thanks to Andy for the camp invite.
  23. btw, I know this is a long shot and a half. but if anyone lives up in the Palmdale/Lancaster area and can pull a car hauler size trailer. And wants to go duning this prez weekend. I got an extra bunk or two in the hauler, and will supply the food, gas, etc......... ok guys, can you see I am desperate. lol I so dont want to make the trip, twice! Like I said, 3.5 hours each way when pulling....
  24. Width and tall wise its fine. It length wise, I need another 2.5 feet to make her fit. I have tried to think of everything, but I just dont see it happening. If anyone on here can think of something, it sure would make my year, and get my g/f off my a$$. I ended up buying a new TH, and the toy doesnt fit. ...........the girlfriend still doesnt let me live it down. And I only have been able to get out duning a couple times due to having to rely on friends hauling my rail out. But next weekend everyone I know is busy. If you guys need me to post a pic of the problem I can, but really its simple. The TH cargo space is not long enough. I pull up in the cargo area, can pull all the way in, the entire back tires wont make it in. Width wise they will, length wise. As my g/f keeps joking, its not long enough.
  25. Andy, thank you so much. Now just need to find a way to get my rail out there. We are thinking of heading out wed also. But I will have to leave my toy hauler out there, and probably come back and get the rail. Thats gonna hurt. 3.5 hours each way.
