  1. Deep fried, injected with Cajun seasoning, other techniques may be easier, but this is the best, hands down!!!!!!! unless you deep pit, but that's a lot of work at the D !!!!!
  2. Take it for what you will, but I just went through the same dilemma. Because of finances and the fact I already had a set of doonz fronts and rears mounted on 12x10 rears and 12x8 fronts, I kept them for a 12 XP. I ran them all weekend and am very happy I didn't spend the money for the STU's I thought I wanted, Keep in mind I'm just a dooner, I don't go the hill to see who I can beat, I just ride the dunes with family and friends. For the money its hard to beat the doonz package. I bet you can find a set on CL cheap too!
  3. Urban oysters, yummy! Kind of wish I hadn't read that.
  4. I love this post. I am thankful for my family and their health. I am thankful that I have a wife and two daughters that love the outdoors and especially the dunes, as much as I do. I am thankful to all those who protect us selflessly everyday so we can hug our families and shred the dunes. I am Thankful for life and giving it all it deserves, you only live once enjoy it to its fullest. Thanks for the awesome site Pete!
  5. Hate to hear about all your bad luck. Im a professional firefighter in Ca. and had no idea any departments were charging for services except medical transports. That sucks, it is why we already pay taxes. Im assuming its Riverside Co or maybe Cal fire? For what it counts I agree its BS. I would fight it for sure.
  6. Turbo, if you are looking to run the dunes a truck will probably disapoint. My daughters boyfriend has one, its a blast around the small stuff and whopped out sections. But no good in the dunes. Sandawg, I hear you on the sand experience changing, I to used to run pismo in the late 70,s and 80,s. ATC 90's, rails and jeeps all the way to devils slide. Awe the good ole days. Pismo is hardly worth the fuel to drive there anymore.
  7. BFG AT nothing else close in the sand and noise level.
  8. Great job!! Our family had a good time there Sat night. Loved the barrel ladder effect.
  9. It doesn't get any better than that!!! Thats why we ride, the trip of trips. Probably rode twice as much as a planned long weekend. Bitchen. Thanks.
  10. Don't waste your money on a monitored system. Law enformance do not respond in a timly fashion. They have to much on their plate to worry about theft. If your system is monitored they first call your house, then your call list than if no one can reapond or confirm its a false alarm, they prioitize the call. It usually only takes a few minuted for a thief to clean you out. Have a system installed with the keypads and alarm but skip the monitoring. The alarm noise is what scares them off. Just my two cents. Im a FF and know losts of cops and how the whole 911 system works.
  11. Good luck to everyone heading out to the D. To sketchy for me, heading out to Cal city or Jawbone canyon. Close to home, risk vesus gain if you know what Im saying. BRapp have fun all and Merry Xmas.
  12. Crap!! What are the odds anyone will work on the road tomorrow? Probably no progress until Sun or Mon. Looks like its little dumont or Plan C. Thanks again everyone for the info.
  13. That looks ok to cross. As long as no more heavy rain it should be fine by Sunday morning..
  14. Thanks everyone for the updates, Im supposed to be heading out Sunday morning with a large group so the updates really help with the decision of do we go for it or change plans? Hopefully the water will go down and BLM can work on the crossing!! Fingers crossed!!
