I've looked into many routes to get to Dumont on my dual sport bike. I haven't done it yet, but it looks like the best route would be the powerline road from Primm to Excelsior Mine Rd to Smith Talc Rd and then shoot down the Sperry Wash route. )Reverse that for D to Primm of course) Not sure how legal it would be in you are not plated, but it's not really patrolled.

Post up a photo. Please read the rules before posting. Otherwise you will be banned. ok, not really but that would be pretty funny. The winner's dune pic will be posted on the homepage after the contest is over. The member's screen name will be posted up with it as well. You may also post a caption or description included with the pic. Dune Pic of the Month- Rules 1. The picture must be YOURS. Do not go surfing the internet looking for one to submit. You cannot post any copyrighted pics. 2. The picture must not have any watermarks or logos on it. 3. The picture must be at least 600 x 600 pixels. It will be displayed on the home page if it wins the most votes so therefore we would like it to be a decent size picture. 4. The picture must abide by the terms and conditions (rules) of this board. 5. Post only ONE picture per contest

I know it's been talked about before on here. What have you guys used to repair leaks in water tanks? I have a hole that has worn into the tank from the support brace that keeps it from shifting around. Not very happy right now!

All the GoPro mount posts have been moved to a new thread in general chat. As for New years- we have a thread for that topic too. trying to stay on topic here- Buggy Roundup trip reports. Any other pics? Do you guys think we should do another one before the end of the season? I thought it was pretty fun. Just don't want it to get TOO big ya know. It was a nice size group.

When is everyone heading out for New Years?
dunefreak replied to Just Mike's topic in Dumont Happenings

I fixed it. You had the HTML box checked and it threw it off. All you need now is the You Tube link and it will automatically embed it in your post. As for the copy/ paste thing, since Internet Explorer's last update, there are now some incompatibilities with the forum software. I am working on fixing it but need some time in front of the computer which I don't really have right now. It's nothing you are doing wrong. There's a thread about this in the help section.

I really appreciate it, Neal. Thank you!

Found an even better one of Lou!

Couple screen grabs from my Go Pro. It caught Lou getting some air and a decent shot of most of the train.

JD! Welcome to the site and it was nice meeting you and bs'ing around the fire.

Ben it was great meeting you and Jeff. I've seen your buggy out at the north pole in the past and I bet we've even chatted at some point out there. I look forward to hooking up again for some dune runs with you. You're welcome to join us anytime. Ditto! Great seeing Jakster.

Yeah!! Thanks for getting those shots, Tim. Those are badass! I might have a couple more of you playing around at Talladega. I'll look tonight.

Here's our tracks! We duned 115 miles from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon. Pretty much covered that whole place.

Jordan the quality is crap, but here is a still frame from my phone. I'll get a video clip up too.

She looked pretty comfortable up there. hahaa

Thanks again to jordan for weighing our cars! That was awesome. I never would have guessed my car weighs 1800 lbs. I thought it was around 1600. And to find out his King Car weighs 1350! wow

What a trip! Thanks to everyone who came out. We had an awesome turnout. It's exactly what I was hoping for and that was to meet some new faces and get everyone together from the site to run the dunes! I had a great time. The dunes were perfect! I was amazed how nice they were after how Thanksgiving weekend left them. When we got there we pretty much made the first tracks on Friday morning. After a few lines were made it was on and the buggy runs were a blast. We owned those dunes. Hell, we pretty much owned all of Dumont it seemed. There were like 5 other little camps and then our giant camp full of great people. These are exactly how I like my weekends out at D. I had a handful of issues between buggy, toyhauler, and ATC70 but nothing stopped me from running and I duned until I was out of fuel on Sunday. Our last run was a blast. The weather was so nice out. It was in the upper 60's, perfect lines to follow really fast, and some good shadows. My car even cleared up from a previous hiccup and ran really well. I fell really bad for Rees (Firecracker) with his continued motor issues and Brice (sandseeker) after he smoked his clutch. Brice did get some dune time in before his let go. Then Newly ripped that arm tab off on his last run. Whoa! lol Glad it didn't happen earlier, but you know we would have gotten it handled with Lou's magical skills. Thanks again to all that came out. Over the years many have dropped off the site and they don't go out to the dunes anymore, but it seems we have a great new group of people on here along with a large handful of original members that make up a very fun group. We will have to do more group trips like this. I couldn't handle a giant camp like that every trip but it is really fun getting everyone together. This will definitely be an annual trip and then some. I didn't take nearly as many pics as usual. I rarely even pulled my camera out but I was just having too much fun. I'll post what I have though.

I have a DDR sign with an arrow that I can put out by the road after I get there too. I spoke with GTP Mike on the phone just now and he'll be there about 2. He'll get a pic posted of his rig.
