I have never seen any of the Glamis craziness on any of the weekends I have gone. I've been on an off-weekend in March and multiple times on New Years- always very tame and never anything bad expect for the cops that are way too strict over stupid stuff. The majority of the people at Dumont has always been respectful people in my opinion. You'll always get one or two jerks in the crowd, but that's just society. Dumont is happy and friendly. I think you'll be happy to call it home, Newly. The crazy holiday weekends are sort of over. I believe those days are gone for a little while. Things have sort of calmed down out there (in a good way) and it seems most the people who go out now are Dumont veterans, ya know- the people who just can't live without the place no matter what the economy does.

I don't know about "spoil", but it sure does sound pretty cool up there. Even though I'm sure St Anthony is super badass, I believe each place offers very different and unique things that no other dunes can offer.

Happy birthday, Terry. Another year in the books. Let's dune!

Does anyone know if the on-site pay machines are functional during the shutdown? I have people asking me and have no idea.

My car is all ready to go! Just gotta pull the hauler out and go through and get it prepped. I hope the weather in one week is as good as it is today.

Makes you wonder how the heck the BLM is distributing the passes to the vendors. I bought mine from BLM before the vendors had them, but #0001 went out to a vendor? Strange.

Damn Jakster. Wake up call for sure. Glad it was caught in time. Definitely time to get a little extra cardio in every week and watch what ya eat. There's too much convenient food these days that is labeled healthy and it is not. Load up on fresh fruits and vegetables- that is some heart disease fighting stuff! Take care of yourself bud.

I've contacted pretty much everyone who hasn't replied yet and it looks like Dec 13-15 is a go! Now to do a shakedown with the car and make sure she's ready to romp.

As of right now, they say vending is not allowed during the gov shutdown, but if things get cleared up by Halloween I am just curious which vendors plan to be out at D for the Halloween weekend and which ones might plan on going out the weekend after. Post up if you are a vendor or know who might be out there.

I suggested that already when I announced the regattas are no longer. I got hardly any interest at all. I guess people need official tshirts, banners, and me working my a$$ off in order to have fun. I'm done with that , not to mention the liability it puts on DDR and myself.
