  1. Since it hasn't gotten too far into the poll yet, i changed/added to that question, Vicki. :icon_twisted:
  2. :icon_twisted: how about we try and give the poor guy some input on Raptor tohaulers?
  3. I don't think that any more resources (BLM rangers) are necessarily needed. They just need to actually enforced this stuff. SAND~SNAKE & I went over to the ranger station over T-Day weekend and discussed the problem with rebar. They said thanks for bringing it to our attention. This wasn't any item they were aware of already????? It didn't sound like they were gonna do anything about it. Do you think that a letter to the TRT or Bartow BLM would help them actually do their job or would it just piss them off and make em write more tickets for blue tail lights? I'll try and think of something constructive to jot down before the next meeting that might help though. I understand your frustration though, John. Everyone wants to help, but very few actually do anything. (Just like all the people at comp that give us blank stares when we are slaving away at picking up THIER trash) Education is key though. Not everyone knows where to write letters to and what is helpful info for these meetings. Maybe let everyone know about the meetings (which you already do) and tell them if they can't make it to submit a letter of what they think needs addressing or any ideas that may help. I am not sure your rant is directed at mainly the dumpster issue or if it's everything else too. and BTW, you didn't offend me. You only made me write a whole bunch :icon_twisted:
  4. That seems like a pain in the a$$, Joe. Why not just throw a few pumps of Berryman's Tire Sealer in them? That chit workd great in mine since I have used it. :icon_twisted:
  5. Well I do everything in my power to help the situations at Dumont. We spend over an hour of our own time cleaning up comp hill on our last day at Dumont on a trip and I have gotten involved anyway I can. I do wish I could make a meeting, but there is no way possible to make it when it is on a TUESDAY. My job won't allow me to take off in the middle of the week like that. What kind of letters would help the situations? I haven't heard of any suggestions that would help anything so far. What are they? My rant is that FoDD and the TRT want our help, but don't tell us exactly what is needed from us, the duners. Many people have signed up with FoDD and have done there part.
  6. Absolutley NOT. I would not like to see them there. Just like everyone else said... -overfilling problems -wind blowing trash away -duners who are OK with packing it out will have to pay the extra fees -I think it will create more mess, more headache It will destroy the whole concept of PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. I think more people will leave trash behind rather than trying to keep the place clean. I also think more people will look at Dumont as a recreational "park" (per say) and they'll think there are people (like staff) that pick up after them if a mess is left behind if dumpsters are there on a regular basis. NO DUMPSTERS! If any more fees are going to be implemented, why not use them for all these rangers to actually enforce items like people leaving trash behind?
  7. I have a ShortSandCar. It has a Hayabusa (same as SST's cars). The trans is pretty much part of the engine. They hold up just fine unless you put on a turbo and do motor work. 2nd gear is usually the weak link (as in any car) because it gets hammered on the most. I have gone through mine but only after many many miles/hours of beating on it. I had the gears undercut to make them stronger/ hold better. Hayabusa minirails are a blast.
  8. no prob, Lisa. It just needed to be changed form a .bmp to a .jpg. Where did you get the e-mail from? That's 3rotortrav's truck, rhino, and rail that he had in the SEMA show.
  9. Yep...have seen quite a few. They are pretty nice cars. Josey (Sick Sand Travel) does some really nice work. This one time I saw one (red w/ skulls on the side) in my rear view mirror going up comp. http://sicksandtravel.com
  10. video?? nobody said they had a video did they? Maybe it was rider error on the YFZ450? Who knows.
  11. like to the right side of Banshee Hill? like here? (comp is the hill on the bottom left in the pic)
  12. I hope he had insurance. Sad...very sad to see The owner wasn't around?? Who would leave their nice a$$ LT car unattanded? Was that at comp, Gerrit?
  13. DAMN!!! That sucks!!! At first it looked like barefoot bob's, but I don't think it is. That wasn't a Wicked Sand Cars was it? Definitely a reason to have a fire extinguisher in the car. I always carry one.
  14. The ONLY time I ever had that problem was when I loaded up ISBB's heavy a$$ Samurai in my hauler to go down to Havasu. I loaded up a golf cart, then the Samurai and had a little sway problem on a road going there. Then again you have to expect that if you load your trailer wrong. :gayboy: With 2800 lbs BEHIND the axles you will get that. Since then I have never had a problem with "the tail wagging the dog". I even load up a Raptor, then the sandrail, THEN another quad behind the sandrail and don't ever get any sway. I don't even have any sway control setup on mine at all either. I am guessing the reason I don't get any sway could be because my truck though. I have a crew cab longbed, 18" wheels w/ E rated tires (less sidewall flex than most tires), and the trailer has quite a bit of tongue weight as well. You can get sway with a 5th wheel too though. (Ask Rhino King :ahhhhh: ) Just remember to load your trailer properly and not to put too much weight behind the axles and you'll be just fine. If you are really worried about it I heard the dual cam sway control setup from Reese is good piece of mind. I haven't gotten any white knuckles towing my trailer yet so I haven't forked out the couple hundred $$ for one. FYI: I doubt you'd be able to turn any toyhauler around in a cul-de-sac unless the trailer is really small and there are no cars parked on the curb. Good luck with your purchase. Hope I have been of some help.
  15. ATK....never had one, never will.
  16. Right on, Jasen. Congrats! Did you trade in the Denali?
  17. I was gonna say the same.....Lupe McNulty 630-5042
  18. It was at the night drags back in August. Pauly Paul has the cherry bomb and he removed the exh baffle on his bike. They raced on Banshee Hill.
