  2. saw some carb rebuild kits on ebay that might have all the seals if i remember correctly
  3. Can't forget the DDR sticker! :2gunsfiring:
  4. Fiberglass, (also called fibreglass and glass fibre), is material made from extremely fine fibers of glass. It is used as a reinforcing agent for many polymer products; the resulting composite material, properly known as fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) or glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), is called "fiberglass" in popular usage. Glassmakers throughout history have experimented with glass fibers, but mass manufacture of fiberglass was only made possible with the invention of finer machine-tooling. In 1893, Edward Drummond Libbey exhibited a dress at the World's Columbian Exposition incorporating glass fibers with the diameter and texture of silk fibers. This was first worn by the popular stage actress of the time Georgia Cayvan. What is commonly known as "fiberglass" today, however, was invented in 1938 by Russell Games Slayter of Owens-Corning as a material to be used as insulation. It is marketed under the trade name Fiberglass, which has become a genericized trademark. End uses for regular fiberglass include mats, thermal insulation, electrical insulation, reinforcement of various materials, sound absorption, heat- and corrosion-resistant fabrics, high-strength fabrics, bows and crossbows, translucent roofing panels, electrical insulation and boat hulls. Carbon fiber or (alternatively called graphite fiber, graphite fibre or carbon graphite) is a material consisting of extremely thin fibers about 0.0002–0.0004 inches (0.005–0.010 mm) in diameter and composed mostly of carbon atoms. The carbon atoms are bonded together in microscopic crystals that are more or less aligned parallel to the long axis of the fiber. The crystal alignment makes the fiber incredibly strong for its size. Several thousand carbon fibers are twisted together to form a yarn, which may be used by itself or woven into a fabric. Carbon fiber has many different weave patterns and can be combined with a plastic resin and wound or molded to form composite materials such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic (also referenced as carbon fiber) to provide a high strength-to-weight ratio material. The density of carbon fiber is also considerably lower than the density of steel, making it ideal for applications requiring low weight. The properties of carbon fiber such as high tensile strength, low weight, and low thermal expansion make it very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, and motorsports, along with other competition sports. Carbon fiber has less tensile strength than kevlar but a higher tensile strength than fiberglass. Carbon fiber is on average approximately three times stiffer than either fiberglass or kevlar depending on the type, while being more expensive than fibreglass but less expensive than kevlar. ^ per wikipedia :mischevious:
  5. I drilled all the holes in the airbox when i first installed the t6 kit, but when i switched from foam filter to the k&n, i left the lid off of it. It ran fine out in baja in hot humid weather, but in dumont its not acting the same. it sounds like i should try throwing the lid back on (which is already drilled with 12 1" holes), and try fine tuning with the air screws. I have the recommended jetting on there, but i cant remember what size they are. Boost bottle is going away too. You guys think that its worth going +4 degrees on the timing on a stock engine? I havent ridden one with that mod. The only other banshee in my riding group has alot more work done to it. There doesnt seem to be many more duner banshees out there.
  6. i have a 04 banshee that is mostly stock. it runs fine at sea level, but up in dumont its seems to lean out on the top end. it seems to be pulling fine as it gets into the powerband but falls flat a little early. i didnt mess with the air screw last time out and i havent pulled the plugs to check the condition, but maybe somebody can tell me what size jets might work up there. list of mods: Toomey T6 pipes TORS eliminated K&N, no lid, billet adaptor Boyesen reeds Boost bottle (worthless IMO) also getting ready to install adjustable timing plate if i can pick up some power on a stock engine.
  7. Yeah i know, our GM warranty/service rep out here is especially nasty. Our Hummer people hate his azz. :hungry: does changing the indexing keys for the torsion bars mess with any warranties? i definitely need some bigger tires. I have the nicer 17" but the tires are still pizza cutters...
  8. i was thinking that messing with the exhaust after the filter should be ok... but i guess the difference in back pressure will mess with it, if it is sensitive. :mischevious:
  9. Want to get a filter-back exhaust for the 08 d-max. The factory system is uglier than Courtney Love after a three day bender... :?: Whats my best bet? Banks system looks pretty good, so does the blacked out RBP, but RBP is pricey.. There was a dude who told me that i can get similar HP results by just cuting the mo-fo a little after the filter and adding a piece bent out toward the curb... just plain crazy... right?
  10. So here i was, at work on Saturday, truck all loaded up ready to go... and the dude that was going to cover me in the afternoon fuggin quits!!!! :surrender: I was !! Oh well, i will look forward to meeting some of the homies this coming season... definitely looked like everyone had fun.
  11. Just confirmed today, I'm in!! Been wanting to come out and meet some peeps for a while, i cant wait to go now!! i will try and caravan with suzltr450rider and meet up with everyone else up there!!
  12. Had been a while since we have had a good one. Anybody in Vegas feel that one?
  13. Trying to make it, but i cant get anybody to roll with me... i havent had the pleasure of meeting anybody from this site in person, but is it cool to just roll up and kick it with the homies? i would be driving up from socal in the afternoon and probably driving back the same night. i have to be at work by 2pm on sunday
  14. For whatever its worth, i used powerhouses' suggestions on my '04 and it ran beautifully last time out. i have similar mods: Dr. D exhaust GYTR filter (no lid) GYTR jets and needle I guess i have another question, that jetting worked great in february when it was nice and cold, but i am trying to head out for the night ride, will it run fine with the same jetting? i know different temp air will have different density, but is it enough to screw with my jetting? im not trying to go out and drag everybody, i just want the engine to be safe for some duning...
  15. There's been a bunch of new pics and talk about this car lately. It's gonna be badass. I wonder if GM employees will get GMS (employee discount) on it. Some specialty cars they don't. From my understanding, ALL cars qualify for GMS. It's up to the dealer to decide if they want to do it. i want one BAD, even got the wife to agree to one... guess i will go to have one... Ill take mine in white, and add some black skunk stripes
  16. its hotter than two rats in a wool sock!
  17. When you cant wait for the ocean breeze to cool you down from these ridiculous 79 degree days Vegas people...
  18. You might be better off in a crew cab silverado 1500 with the 5.3. the newer ones get very decent mileage, have good power and drive A LOT nicer than the colorado. We try and find used colorado's for our lot, and they just dont seem to hold up very well.
  19. Lucky Nan but if i was in asian porn: Hung Wei Lo
  20. there is an annual atc/trx 70 gathering at glamis , complete with a race course. maybe we should set something up like that at dumont. at least the race course part of it. :freakin_nuts: im knee deep restoring an atc 70 right now for next season.
  21. chop the top.... full cage...4 seats.... some real shocks... that might be pretty bad azz
  22. open keep reading this thread or get back to work?
  23. Thats a sweet sammi. :no_no: Looks like its the way im gonna go because of the length. Ill begin a new thread when i find one and for the build up. thanks dudes!
