  1. quote name='Kitcat' date='Apr 13 2009, 09:48 PM' post='174100'] Nice pics!! [ Coolest guy! I used to work with him at Lake Mead when he worked for the Park Service . I was on S.A.R. with him and he supervised the volunteer boat program at Vegas Wash when it was there! Great family too. Chance meeting at the Accident where the little girl hit that group by the finger! Hadn't seen him for years! His motor weighs more than my Baby Sand Sprite. Beautifull car!!! According to my campmate and great friends this is "Sand Crab" He has been duning for years at D.D Range Rover V8, "Blown" if I'm not mistaken. Stress???? I don't think so! Great trip as usual with new camp mates Dan and SKYZ. Fun Meet and Greet and met Jill, Charlie, Sand Chick and others that were cool. Just after most left I went on a very short ride while waiting for friends to finish a conversation only to have the coupler come loose on my steering. What a feeling when you totally lose steering. NO FEAR????? On the way to the meet and greet MDTHLFA and I were tearing down the road from the North Pole and I was near the end of third gear...........Glad the steering didn't come loose there!!!!!!! :ah: Great Trip. good friends and just a little drinking around a super fire pit left just for us!! A couple of glitches with the car, all fixable though. dirt in one idle jet the first day, thanks to Dan and MDYHLFA we got that fixed. Lost a plug wire on a ride resulting in getting stuck twice before we found that. Thanx to Dan for single handedly picking up the car and getting me out in a flash. Then when the steering come loose DAn again bailed me out with a wrench to get me a guick tempory fix to be able to drive it back to camp where that was fixed too! Taking Dan whenever I go to the dunes!!!!! Last thing was I "ran the ties, literaly, off the left front wheel while showing off a "tad' on a ride with Dan before others had gotten up. No damage!
  2. I'll be glad to go with you on any ride. We will be by bathroom 6 on thursday afternoon, right acroos from Don and Elens camp! and them moving way west up on the hill on Friday!! Look for the Red Ford with the toyhauler and the HUGE 5th wheel with the grey Ford 450. Look forward to seeing you again! She really meant a Piece!!! She is strange at times!!!!!
  3. Popping and back fire can also be a too lean seteing on the carbs! My I had that problem until I re-jetted the carbs!!!
  4. Wait a minute! Who expects a poltician to do what they say or say what they do. I'll probably get some sh*t for my statement but.....come on now!!!!! If GAWD loved a BS artist or a lier then GAWD would squeeze them to death!!!! Oh, by the way, nice meeting you out at Dumont a while back Cheese. Enjoyed meeting you, and your group!!!
  5. How do folks feel about this with the new command center improvements?? It's cool that money is spent to put the rangers up at hotels in Pahrump so they are off property when they are most needed. Get them a camper and make them stay at the Dunes. That's where they are needed! :stir: I'm gonna keep trying until I get one thing right!
  6. that;s just how fast and easy it is to happen, even to you. good job BP!
  7. Last issue of Sand Ssport has an article and pix of Jawbone!
  8. Christmas Tree is an easy ride in a truck. Takes about 45 min to an hour with a couple of neat places. Nothing extrodinary! If Keyhole is the one on the way to Searchlight it is small. We used to train there for S.A.R for rope work and climbing. Fun day to climb. Nothing to tough. A good ride is the Bitter Springs trail from close to Valley of Fire over to Lake Mead by Callville. Did it in the Rhino a while back!
  9. Sand Chick definately has the right rightious Duners attitude!!!!! Definately be there with 3-6 other rigs!!!!!Hot??????? :kitty: That's what cold drinks and awnings and air conditioning are for!!! Tutoring for typing and spelling will be available for anyone that needs it SKYZ!!
  10. I have to agree with the pevious posts. I built a rail from scartch with basic parts and I built the motor my self. When I was done I had over 10 grand in it. I just bought a nice rail for 4200 and all I had to buy was tires and that was nearly 1 grand for fronts and backs and no wheels. If you are looking for the pure enjoyment of doing it yourself and can afford to take a year to built it right then go for it. If not buy used in good condition. Prices are down and there are some really good deals out there!!!
  11. Outstanding......Congrats.....What a concept, two people that love the dunes!!!!!!!

  17. Stacy, I've got the wheels and tires off my Kawasaki 400 if they will fit your ride?
  18. I will be happy to lead a ride for you Easter Weekend. Sorry that I had some issues with the rail when you asked me before. Your probably an expert by now but the offer is there if I can help!!! I'll be close to Bathroom 6 just north. I drive a Red Ford with a tag along toy hauler and the lite blue/turquoise rail and the dark blue Rhino. Also look for a red Sand Rocket, a purple sand rocket in our camp!!! Looking forward to meeting you and helping if I can!!!
  19. Name Dropper!!!! You a Sour Dough or a Cheeckacko??????????? Made several trips already with the Rhino in the back of the truck and the buggy in the toy hauler Hauler, Works like a CHAMP!!!!!
  20. I'm ready for any ride, haven't been to Logandle yet, cold creek is a fun day ride, been there done that. Let me know, I'm in!!!!!
  21. That's too easy to have patrols writing tickets. The BLM would rather spend money to buy fancy rails to rome the dunes.???????????????????? Not sure what that accomplishes. Spend more money on "out of limits" patrols and less on padding their budgets for grants that do nothing! It's cool that money is spent to put the rangers up at hotels in Pahrump so they are off property when they are most needed. Get them a camper and make them stay at the Dunes. That's where they are needed! What are the concrete pads for. Use it or lose it dollars????? :clown: :freakin_nuts:
  22. girls lie about their age and weight, Men lie about thire sexual prowess and a true racer never shares their motor secrets!!!! :freakin_nuts:
  23. Wasn't saying you were Pete. Just cautioning people not to jumnp to conclusions if you know what I mean. I'm with you on the cables in critical areas. I dont want to see a "Border Fence" either.
