  1. I've got Direct and added two units in the hauler. I have the new HD open sat dish that auto sets up in about 5 minutes with a push of the button. Its rated for 75mph winds and we've already had it at the D and other locations where its proven to work in some really nasty rain, snow and sand blows, so I have no complaints. Having the full package with HD especially durning the games and the speed channel just seems better when your 100 miles out in the sticks. I've had both "Dish" and Direct, and Direct seems to have more HD channels for sure, and I dumped "Dish" when they refused to allow me to reconfig my original setup on the hauler for local channels when we were in Pismo - Direct is not an issue, one call, and they'll temp move your system to get the local channels anywhere you park your rig in the US. The big deal was the auto setup for me also - way too many late nights tryiing to setup the system and yelling at the wife "do you seen the signal now" - better to push a button, get a beer and it's working on its' own. 2. We bring the Jet Ski and use the quads to launch it.....works great. SP2 Mike
  3. We'll be headed to "Sand Hollow" the ride out there has been excellent of late. SP2 Mike
  4. Rebecca - Always funnier than all get out - great job, my grand daughter laughed like crazy - excellent. SP2 Mike
  5. First thanks for all the comments, and advise. You all were right down the same path that our attorney is pushing for. We have a preliminary court date of July 27th, the (^*&^% can either show up or his attorney can, and plead guilty or not. If he pleads guilty, then they'll set a date for his sentencing. If not, then a trial date will be set. Family is doing great, were all pretty much back in step, but the drive to put this A$$hole in jail still remains our focus and to also hit him once convicted, with a civil lawsuit that will go after anything he owns, but we'll see what happens. Again - thanks for all the support and I'll keep everyone updated after the trial. SP2 Mike
  6. Thanks - I actually got on the internet and purchased three of them today -
  7. Well, it's been a few days, and were all getting back to somewhat of a normal day to day, and it's taken a few days to just settle down, gather the family, and put some sort of belief that although I can't get to him directly, I'll have to keep the faith the our system of laws will ensure that this A$$hole is locked up or damaged enough that he's impacted. My wifes 78 year old mom is still having issues, and we've had to take her to the hospital - turns out it was her blood pressure, and theyve got her on stuff to calm her down, but I'm sure it will be a long while for this to fade for her. My wife, daughter, and grand daughter are good, some bruises and scraps - but theyre all doing better. Let me just say that I've seen DDR rally so many times, and it never stops suprising me, that even though I've have had the pleasure of meetng only a portion of the people on this site, your total support, comments and advise means alot knowing that you peeps are there to help. We've also found out that this guys name is Kyle Tong, lives here in Vegas, works as a Craps Dealer at the Palace Station, and drives or drove a Chrysler 300. He does have a house, and we've contacted an attorney, and we'll just see what happens. Thanks Again - I'll keep everyone up on what happens as we get through this. SP2 Mike
  8. Well just got back from getting a phone call earlier today from the wife - She was pulling out of the Target Parking lot on Sunset and a (^&^%$$* Drunk Driver side swipes her. So, she's got my 28yr old Daughter, my 8yr Grand Daughter, and my wife 78yr old Mom in the car. This A$$wipe decides to take off - My wife is on the phone doing the 911 thing, and following the A$$hole. He decides to try and ditch her, and he ends up running up a curb, and hits another car. So my wife still talking to 911 and about 5 cars away see's the ^%#&^ get out of his car and is now running towards her car in traffic yelling and cusing and slamming his hands into the window, he breaks the glass at which point the wife jumps out, along with my daughter trying to get my Grand Daughter and her Mom out of the car to get distance until the cops come. Well he comes at her swinging, hits her across the head, my daughter nails him with a dog food can from the store, and pulls the guy off the wife, and get hit two times in the face, within seconds the Henderson PD is on top of this and as my wife takes another blow to the face, this guy gets jumped by a guy in a truck in traffic next to them who apparently saw this go down....next thing PD is wrestling this A$$hole, and finally beat him down along with the help of the other driver from the truck. He's nailed with DUI, Battery, Hit and Run, Punching an officer, and 3 other outstanding warrants.....but it does not make me any happier, I've got a beaten wife, and daughter, plus Grandma is just beyond upset, not to mention my grand daughter who's totally freaked. It hurts when somebody does this, and I got there after the call in about 15 minutes from Boulder, but they had hauled his &%*$% a$$ away.....I hate this, I just so pisssed that I cant have a chance at this guy for hurting may family.....All I can say is that we'll have our day in court, and I cant wait.... :ill:
  9. Hey Brent, as Beau mentioned the Animal Control guy here in BC corrected me too - They were speckled for sure. Well sorry for no updates, spent the best part of the last 2 days clearing out a fairly wide trail around the house, and trimmed up everything above the ground as to leave no hidding places. We killed one more yesterday while cutting out some tumbleweeks, and he was really fast, but the .22 was faster, although it took two shots - talked to all my neighbors, they said - shoot away if you have too, so no reports to the BCPD, but we'll try to just use the shovel or hoe when possible. My neighbor two houses down killed two on Sunday, didnt realize that I had killed the ones I had, pretty much the 5 houses around mine have pulled the kids and pets out of the yards for a while. The animal control guy said to get some mothballs crush them, and scatter them around a barrier, so that was done as well. Taken the dogs down today for the snake shots - $165 per dog for the series, beats having dead dogs, and although you still have to take them to get treated, theyve never used over one vial of the anti-venom, on a dog treated prior with the series, so at $700.00 a vial, and usually it's 2-3 per bite, I figured it's cheaper, and easier on the dog according to the Vet. The only thing it does not work on is the Mohave Green. Well that's all for now, I'll keep you posted as we find more of the suckers..... SP2 Mike
  10. CONGRATULATIONS Cole and Julie! - She's a real cutie for sure - Before you know it she'll be sneak'n out the bike while your at work......SP2 Mike
  11. Thanks SKYZ - Do you have to de-bone them first or just pull the meat off after cooking? Hey maybe I could use the Rattle for a Plate Decoration - for Authenticity... SP2 Mike
  12. Working Lake Patrol at Mead - Then Bar-B-Q that night at the house....maybe some Rattle Snake if theyre still around.
  13. Had to call the Boulder Animal people - we killed two more this afternoon, and I used my 22 pistol with snake shot - didnt have any, so I went down and got it today, just in case and damn, found one near the same spot on the patio, and one near the 5th wheel. So the Boulder Animal guy is a BPD actually, and I got the lecture of no guns pls........like yah sure no problem...... so, I figure a fine is well worth the issue if I cant nail the suckers quickly. Anyway, he got the last one, and pinned it, then shovel to the head worked. Said likely that since the City has recently done some serious dirt work in the field about 50 ft away from my house it's likely stirred them up, and its a "DEN of SNAKES". I also didnt ID them correctly, their actually "Spotted Rattle Snakes" which he said are real close cousins to the Mohave Green, and have Dual venom, really nasty, said that dogs untreated will die, so it's off to the VET tomorrow, to check out Anti-Venom Shot series for both..... So he also said that it's likely that I could see these for the next several weeks - some dens have like 60-70 snakes or more, he said the record around here is 123 in one den..... so not looking for that. Wife is in Cali - says call her when there gone..... so, have shovel will travel. Oh Ace, I'll be happy to bag these, and have them hauled out to you....but you have to unpack them.... Well until later - Any one what to have a Bar-B-Q Snake hunt all you can find and eat....
  14. Got home last night, around 9pm from PT's, and open the back door to let the dogs out, and they went balistic....went out, looked around and found a 2.5 ft Western Diamond Back, coiled up next to my patio door, had we went out that way, would have been nailed for sure....so he got 12 Gauge Bird Shot. Got up this morning, went out to get the paper, my springer started raising all sorts of hell, and "DAMN" another one under my Quad Trailer, so luckily he was behind the wheel, and I rolled the trailer on him to pin him down, got the shovel, took his Frig'n head off.....Damn two in 12 hours. Went out back about an hour later as the springer and my retriever were again going nuts, and heard a big time rattle, jump back, got the 12 Gauge, push the zuchini plants around and bang, it hit my shot gun and gave it position away.....so I returned the favor.....Three of these damn things in 12 hours.....all the same size and all within about 50 ft of each other. So now Im freaked and carrying the damn shot gun and will be making rounds for the next 2-3 days checking all the plants and hiding places. I need a beer and it's only 11:30 SP2 Mike
  15. Anna - I'm right at Keys and Pacifica - are they anywhere near? SP2 Mike
  16. Yeah, live in Boulder City, my backyard backs up against the Lake Mead NRA, against the mountains as your coming down 93 towards the Dam. We find them a lot, but usually not this big. Weve killed 4 or 5 this year. SP2 Mike :dumbass:
  17. :ah: Pulled the boat out this morning and found this in the garage, apparently the boat tire got him....biggest one I've found so far. I thought I heard "thump thump" when pulling the trailer.... SP2 Mike :dumbass:
  18. Kevin is pretty close to the truth, it just depends on who you ask. I have the commerical rating because I used to drive commerical rigs, which included double tankers. II've asked several friends that pull 5th with another trailer behind them, one has a Normal Class C lic with an R endorsement, that he got due to a ticket he was issued here in Nevada without it. He's not considered a commerical driver, but has the ability to tow more than 3 axles up to 70+ feet (dont know his max length). He thinks he remembers taking only the written that had questions around axle weights and length of each trailer, brakes etc. The other friend does not have anything more than a regular Class C and also pulls a three axle 5th, and a double axle trailer for his Rhino and Quads and he's well over 70 feet. He's gotten tickets twice in California, but lives here in vegas and has traveled alot in AZ, UT, and nobody's ever given him a second look. My neighbor is a NPS Protection Ranger (Cop) and he said that if you go to the NHP office in Henderson, they have the DOT (Department of Transportation) section that if you take a picture of your rig, and the weights they will tell you exactly what's required, and how much weight, length, and endorcements you need if any. To me with an explanation from the DOT, I'd feel much better about a discussion with the NHP and a $450 fine which is what one of my friends got without the proper certificate. SP2 Mike
  19. I have a 5th wheel (Warrior 3 axle), and once in a while I tow a second 14ft trailer behind it or my jet ski, anyway I was pulled over in California near Bako, and all the CHP wanted to see was my Commerical Class A and it had a doubles endorsement (written test only) and he said ok, have a good day. Never said or asked anything about length. I'm out of Nevada and never been stopped, and weve been to Utah and AZ of which we've never been bothered. SP2
  20. Farm Equipment / Moonshine Rally - I like it - count me in. :hatdance:
  21. It's been said here before and I'm sure after as well - But it's a proud day when we can count on the few the proud and the ones who "DO" make a difference, it makes us who have traveled that path very proud. Congrats and God Speed to your son. SP2 Mike
  22. Finer words could not have been spoken - Feinstein and her frick'n croony Boxer run around the country spilling their BS and marxism banter like raw sewage. California is in big danger from these a$$wipes Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi, and lets not forget frick'n the biggest of the "F" my country Fonda the b*tch, it's just a matter or time before these loosers will ensure that our future of weapons ownership is taken away, just like our right so use Public Land - which we all pay taxes to support......off the soapbox
