  1. they are pretty freekin expensive. my friend used to be the used car salesman at the local chevy dealership. he knew i wanted a D max, and would call me every time they had a good trade in that would still be under warranty, and would also qualify for the gm certified used car program. i wanted a long bed, but all the longbeds had been ridden hard and put up wet with many miles on them (over 100k) i wasn't ready to dump 20k into a +100k truck. even though I have put almost 40k miles on it in 1.5 years, it still wholesales for close to 5 grand more than what I currently owe on it.
  2. for all you smokers, if I offended you, or you thought I was directing my comment toward you, I wasn't. It was aimed at the ones (you know who you are) who have no shame flicking your butts out your car window into the street, and treat public/private property as your personal ashtray. I know it isnt all the smokers, but the next time you are walking down the street, take a look in the gutter. freekin disgusting it's an unhealthy habit anyway, instead of defending it, quit it. you can save yourself some cash too!
  3. DURAMAX VID can your scrapin' for a 3rd place finish, washin the smoke outta yer hair dodge dothat??? :no_no: DIDN'T THINK SO  (.......................AND THE BATTLE RAGES ON (IN BOB'S HEAD)
  4. especially good friends and a bottle of pills!!!!!! yeah, I hear ya on the money tree. I have a timeline to get my stuff done. it is looking like maybe july-october, around in there somewhere. I still have to replace the stock door speakers, front and rear, the tweeters in thefront door, get some subs, build a box, and then install everything.
  5. yeah, and the freekin smokers EVERY freekin time I pull into dumont, and set up camp, there are cigarette butts EVERYWHERE!!!! and you smokers wonder why the world is against you :no_no:
  6. When I was in high school, (or was it school high ) I had a really cool science teacher, who was a roadie for black sabbath back in the 70's. He was into all the stereo stuff. I was getting ready to put my first stereo in my volkwagen bug, and decided to ask him for help. He taught me to look at two things, above and beyond the rms power and # of channels, which were the signal to noise ratio (the amount of sound at 1 meter distance from the speaker, with 1 watt of input), and total harmonic distortion(thd). He even gave me info on speakers too, but that is another post he told me that thd needs to be at 1% or less, and that signal to noise ratio should be greater than 90db, the higher, the better. He actually steered me towards Alphasonik on my first go-around. at that time (1986) they were just a startup company, with relatively cheap prices. I was really happy with the results too. all of this is why I decided on the phoenix gold. I have heard of them before, but never heard their stuff. Using the information from my science teacher, I went with a second alphasonik system in another car I had, then veered away on my third car, as their prices went through the freekin roof in the mid 90's (500 bucks for a 4 channel amp). That is when I went with the US acoustics, just looking at the s/n ratio and THD. That amp was better then the alphasoniks i had previously!!! man all this talk makes me wanna call in sick the rest of the week and get that bad boy installed!!!
  7. list of state senators. list of california representatives Find your state senator and representative on the above lists. . you can copy/paste (just ask chase how to do it!!) my letter if you want....Just put their name after the dear part. remember, calling is better than an email dear As one of over 1 million off-road registered vehicle owners in the state of California who pays 25 dollars every two years to register my vehicle, I am baffled at the loss in funding at Dumont Dunes off-highway vehicle recreation area. Dumont Dunes O.H.V.R.A was funded with a little more than 600 thousand dollars last year for operation and maintenence, with the remainder of the 1.1 million dollars needed to operate made up by visitors fees. This year, however, no funds were allocated to Dumont Dunes O.H.V.R.A, which means that the people who frequent Dumont must make up the difference in funding, even after paying our registration that is supposed to be allocuted to such O.H.V.R.A 's I would like an answer as to why the money I currently pay every two years isn't being utilized as it should, prompting me to spend even more of my money for recreation. please contact me at your earliest convenience sincerely
  8. my neighbor must have the best of luck he has owned 2 fords from the 03-06, and hasn't had 1 problem with either one. one has over 70k on it and the newest one has less than 10k maybe he did the dmax swapout. ..................and the battle rages on (in boob's mind )
  9. words of wisdom for you here alarm fuse horn fuse running light fuse
  10. woody thanks for representing us at the meeting I have an idea about the fees. what do you think about 30 dollars for the major holidays, like halloween, thanksgiving, prez, etc, cause that is when the biggest expenses are for the money allocated to dumont? and keep it @ 20 bucks for off weeks?
  11. ford attempts to appeaze gays and your truck is what????
  12. you just got it, and now youre selling it????
  13. its got to. I have a cd case that is about 3-4 inches tall, and the seat hits it on the way down. And just yesterday, I squashed my predator turner box with the seat, and it is all of maybe 2.5 inches tall??? I just can't imagine a decent subwoofer only needing like 3 inches of mounting depth :monkeedance2: I'll give them a call for sure, but if they are more than 100 bucks, my friend has all the tools, and a saw with a varying degree blade, to get the angles needed, and we can probably do it for the cost of the mdf, liquid nails and a case of beer. subthump hd crew no they don't allow for the backs to fold down. oh well. Thanks for lookin' out for a brutha though!!! howz that toy hauler thing goin??
  14. I thought about that, but use my 60% fold down a lot. I will load my dogs there from time to time. I also use it to put stuff when I am heading to the dunes. so behind the seat would be the best location for me. I have seen some pretty good setups with behind the seat too, and it is virtually unusable space.
  15. well, they are dez'z rack until someone claims them
  16. don't forget the national enquirer and spank magazine you gonna start chargin for autographs, trav??? j/k those pics are gonna come out lookin sweet.
  17. effe no, I just bought the amp, and I got the tracking # today. now I have to buy speakers to replace the stockers in the doors, and figure out which subs will work behind my back seat in my CC chevy.
  18. dirt wheels is good..............unless you own a DS650 They have NEVER put 1 positive thing in their rag about the DS. One time (at band camp), they ran a DS against the eraser. like that would EVEN be close, then all they did was diss the DS for being slower than the eraser what a bunch of and
  19. nice rig.....and pulling it with a Dmax to boot looks like you got your shiat together
  20. I don't understand some of these companies not doing the R and D on their exhausts, and just putting them out there on the market without knowing if there are any true gains or not The same thing happened with LTE duals on the DS, only dirt wheels did a little diddy on it with a dyno, and reported a loss of 5 hp with the pipes on I think the whole idea behind an after market exhaust (and please correct me if I am wrong, mr copy and paste ) is to allow the engine to breath better. so that means increasing the diameter of the header pipe, as well as the rest of the pipes to the exhaust, and opening up the exhaust as well. If the aftermarket headers are the same diameter, then you get no better flow mang what? what was that? did somebody say backpressure??? lol
  21. wow, you mean you wouldn't even consider going to your son's school three sheets to the wind? At my school, that is the status quo. Just this last Tuesday night, we had a patriotic program at our school. I had to stay late to get some grading done. My room is isolated at my school away from the rest of the rooms, its a portable. behind my room, I here some people talking, so I go out to investigate, and there are a couple mothers of students of mine and a dad of another kid at my school smoking a joint, and they all had 40 oz of mickeys in their hands ON SCHOOL GROUNDS honestly though, it doesn't phase me, as that is the norm around here, not the exception. BTW I work in the GHE------------TO
