:chkn: that wasn't very smart...and here is why Oceano dunes is the most attacked riding area by the anti- access crowd in the state of CA you should have told them "you did save the dunes, remember the 16,500 acres that were taken from the riding area a few years ago....go play in those dunes, those are yours. This measley 1500 acres is an ohvra" now, at the next san luis obispo county Board of Supervisors Meeting, that old lady, who goes by Nell, will be up in front of them, describing what the guy in front of you and you did (i have never seen her without a vid cam also, so she will probably have you on video) while showing the BOS what kind of losers all duners are with that video. go here for more oceano info even though warranted, that single action can probably take 4 months worth of work to get the BOS to sell part of the dunes to the state parks (to keep it a riding area) and flush it down the toilet. the best you can do, if that ever happens to you again, is to just ignore them. they are a minority, but a vocal minority, and by stooping down to their level, you, and the guy in front of you, gave them even more ammo for their fight to close oceano dunes. :no_no:

are you sure about that Pete??? cause Ive said some pretty stupid things it's all good pete i am not saying for the sake of society to have kids, and that all responsible people have a responsibility to have responsible kids, and make our society a better place I am just saying that we all complain about 'tardo people out there, when, if we have children, and teach them better, then we know we have done our job to teach the next generation the skills to be responsible, and stay out of trouble. We can point to that when we encounter tardos out there, and think about how we raised our kids, compare that to what we have experienced, and know that we have done a good job, because no one is probably complaining about our kids. :jester:

don't get bent, as this is just the flip-sideof the coin for all you saying don't have kids, have fun the rest of your life. we all complain about the loser people that roll out to dumont during DEE DEE DEE weekend. Do you think they had responsible people as parents like us? we all own toys, we take care of them. most own toyhaulers, we take care of them. many here have pets, we take care of them....homeowners....website controllers ...etc question....Who is more qualified to have kids? think about it. to be able to pass the great sport we love down tothe next generation, and be RESPONSIBLE about it. this is one of the reasons our society is going down the toilet. people that are responsible are choosing to not have kids, due to whatever personal reason, are the ones that need to have kids so that our society doesn't fall further down the crapper. ok, rant over cheese

i am currently dealing with a similiar situation with the oceano dunes. with me beingfrom Bakersfield, I can tell you that the LAST thing peoplefrom another town want, is from outsiders telling them what to do with their town. obviously the lack the vision to do the things you recommend, which is their problem. let them deal with it

not gonna make that one, Vic Jim and Laura got their new toy hauler a couple weeks ago, and we are heading to pissmo oct 4-6 for their first trip. there has been some talk amongst us about glamis next year though. I google mapped it, and it is only like a 5-6 hour drive from bako, the map says who is all going to buttercup??? btw, that weld didn't hold up, so I have some JB weld on there right now, and will know in a couple weeks if it holds or not and Supersonic toys had an auction for an oil tank on ebay that went for 20 bucks, and I MISSED it!!!

good idea, but that would directly compete with the green sticker fund, and the Govt would absolutely hate to see that come to a screeching hault heck, i only pay 25 dollars every other year for each toy that I have. I wouldn't mind paying 100 bucks every other year, have the state open up more area, and be a little more rider-friendly...... HEY, how come the anti-access people don't have to have a pass to hike the kelso dunes??? :mc_smiley:

I agree. every morning come rain or wind, that little lady in her samurai would pull up to the toilets with her cleaning supplies, and be in there like 10 minutes. the bathrooms are pretty clean too. the one I use...can't remember the #, had no graffitti, looked freshly painted, and didn't smell like an outhouse
