  1. I did a search on this forum and it seems like SLIME was answer to keep paddles holding air. My rear paddles on my car need to be aired up every 8 hours or so. (when i wake up in the morning to dune at least one is flat) after checking with soap and water in a spray bottle the paddles seem do be leaking around the beads. I read somewhere that a mixture of antifreeze and alumiseal works really good, does not corrode, doesn't dry out paddles, and does not leave a huge mess. so what works best? fix a flat, alumiseal mix, slime, or other? just curious.
  2. put more weight in the front like you said. your trailer should have trailer brakes. hook them up.
  3. Like Ynot said, I believe you are well within your weight limits on the trailer. Weight distribution is a huge deal and could drastically affect how the trailer feels behind the truck. if the majority of your weight is placed toward the rear of the trailer and you are driving a smaller truck that trailer will pull you all around and sway at higher speeds. try adding more weight to the tongue/front of the trailer and my guess is the ride will become a lot better.
  4. Is there any dates set for dune in June this year?
  5. I put my daughter on a four wheeler just to get the hang of throttle control. They make them with electric start which is nice for the youngsters, and at Dumont in the sand it is much easier to keep stable at the young age. Just my $.02
  6. I don't think I'm ready to give up. I have gone quite a few times this season, but I cant seem to get enough. I think I just figured out an issue that my car has been having last night. contrary to what some believe I haven't been getting full throttle. I have been shifting before 5000 rpm to keep my car from backfiring and dying. Its on now! We have one more car in our group we are working on buttoning up so I know once that is done regardless of weather we will be out.
  7. A couple of us had our daughters out riding. next generation!
  8. Sweet! That thing looks awesome. I wonder what Alper was over there trying to talk you into on it. It looks like the wife is expecting to be the first to drive that bad boy. Congratulation! cant wait to see it in action.
  9. This seems like an appropriate picture even though it's a couple months later. The DDR Buggy Round Up
  10. Sorry to hear about your bad experience, and thank you for sharing your story. Its probably best to always stay on your toes and expect things to happen. Hopefully this topic does not turn into a back and forth bash session because everyone I have met from this site has been really good people. We all have the same interest which is getting out and having fun in the dunes. I already feel like we are a dying breed out in the dunes and it sucks to lose members of the dune family. Give it another shot. I have heard of many more good experiences than bad so hopefully it was an isolated event. I would like to know more about the weekend that people were getting harassed on the entrance rode and what provoked that. I have always been one that has done my best to respect the LEO's, and even offer them water or another beverage (soda) when I see them out and about. Typically they respond back with respect and they respectfully decline the beverage, but i can tell they appreciate the offer. I have also seen ranger actually hang out with fellow duners and go for a ride. (maybe they were off duty?) But like everything there will always be good and bad and hopefully it does not happen again. Anyways I respect all views good and bad, and i do not discredit the legitimacy of anyone's experience. Stay positive and stay duning!
  11. I was going to post the one of you in a similar outfit doing the same pose, but I thought it might be a little much for this website.
  12. Alper Motorsports does it right!!! I came over to get some work done and he was in the middle of a photo shoot. I bet that new motor is going to rip. Look forward to seeing you out there.

  17. Our crew had a pretty good time out this past weekend as well. some of the crew went out Wednesday and some of us didn't make it till Friday morning. Like most we noticed that the crowd was half the size as it was for Halloween. We had a few car failures with the busa cars in our group. One of them broke the front wheel in to two pieces, and the other snapped a chain and was having a few CV mounting issues. When the cars weren't running we took off on the bikes and quads and had some fun high pace rides. I got to get reacquainted with the sand on a personal level on that ride haha, but I was able to get up and finish the ride at the same pace we were riding before. I felt that one the next day though. On the way out one of the crew had a little run in with a ranger who ended up being really cool and letting him off with a warning. I was pretty surprised about this because the rangers seemed to be out watching everyone pretty close. I'd like to say i seen them do circles around our camp and the other camps around us at least 3 different times. It seemed like they were looking for a reason to ticket the duners, but after the warning I'm thinking they just wanted their presence known. Friday night at comp we seen a razor come rolling down the left side of comp where it gets pretty steep. When I looked over I caught the first couple roll in time to tell the others in our group to look at what was going on. I believe that thing rolled about 5 or 6 full rolls before it stopped landing on the passenger side. With how steep the hill is right there I thought that thing was going to roll all the way to the bottom. Myself and two friends jumped into the car and hauled a$$ up to see if there was anything we could do to help. We were the first ones up to the razor. I thought it would be one or two younger males that were out partying, but to my surprise it was a family of 3. The dad was driving, the wife was passenger, and the 4 or 5 year old daughter was in the back seat. When I got there they were still all in the razor. Luckily all seemed to be OK. The dad was the first one out of the razor, and he wasn't sure the condition of his wife or daughter. The wife handed up her daughter to us and the she was very shaken up and scared. Luckily from what I could see the little girl had no injuries. The mom had a broken arm that was pretty bad, but she was in momma bear mode not showing any pain trying to make sure her little girl was ok. The rangers showed up pretty quick in their rail, and all the rangers in the trucks were crowded around the base of the hill. Once the rangers were there we we backed off and went back to our camp.

  20. I figured, Weeks drives the S*** out of that RZR! I even got to chase you around the dunes for a couple minutes! Your car is a beast!
  21. Here are a couple of photos of a group I linked into Saturday morning. Bunch of good guys.
  22. There were some really fast quads out there, and it was super cool to watch. I understand there might be reasons to keep it quiet, but it seemed like it could be a lot of fun and give me another reason to get out there. It would be cool to know when it goes down. Apparently you need to be in some sort of special group to get information on it.
