  1. 1700+lbs, that thing is a pig! If you want a buggy for that kind of jack you could get a used mid travel beam car and drive circles around the Joyner. If you want something new to cruise around on (side X side) get a polaris, rhino or terex. That joyner is NOT a buggy I could break within minutes of arriving @ the dunes if I drove it like my buggy. Plus, IMO they look pretty
  2. Foremost here, never had to use them on rail but were really easy to deal with when the moho got sandblasted!
  3. Ive had a couple of each (2.0's and 2.5's) the 2.0's are definatly not lacking on power by any means, the power is just produced more like a 2 stroke. You can short shift the 2.5's and lug up just about anything, with the 2.0 it is a little flat on the bottom.. A built 091 would be sufficient with either motor stock. HOWEVER, a closed deck, 2.5 with a built motor and intercooler in a car that light sure sounds like some fun!
  4. Now you really have my interest, I'm diggin how your cars look so different. When it is time to build stick with a 2.5L sohc or dohc WAY more torque. I'll be watching to see if you figure out a way to put a 2.5 intercooled subi and a 2d in there
  5. Looks like a good spring / summer Baja Wide Open trip from Ensenada to cabo, houseboat on majave, night trips to the dunes (when moon is full), Alaskan cruise with some halibut fishing and a trip to Australia to extend the summer later in year
  6. I've only seen them upon departure, sat pm and all day sunday. If you figure out the cost of fuel, food etc it is really just a fraction of the expense to be legal and contribute to the ammenities.
  7. Hey yoshi, I've been checking your cars out for a while but had NO idea how big they were. Very Cool
  8. We went out specifically to check it out. The helecoptor was there to film "a day in the dirt" for fuel tv / red bull. Robbie Reynard and a few other talents were there. There was also a young lady airing it out bigtime with them. As far as the old trucks lined up???
  9. Read closley, is that 97K for just the 2 dual sport bikes??? :shocked2:
  10. Bummer about the valve issue, sure someone didn't throw some blue plastics on an early crf :shocked2: . Seriously though, valve issues were pretty rare on the 426's.
  11. We will be out both weekends, man I love this "Modified Traditional" school year for the kids!
  12. Sorry my dog ruined the show... Happy Easter...
  13. If you want to use the air I would buy 2 2kw hondas, they are light, QUIET and you can use one most of the time, but when you need to run air use a parallel kit and run them both.
  14. Man I loved my 01 426, 3 years straight BITD races, 6-12-24Hrs @ glen helen and only lost 2nd gear twice because of giving a revloc automatic clutch a try. Very stable @ speed, I would reccomend a remote hot start though...
  15. <<<Diesel bill for last WEEK = $2480.59 Looks like another "Fuel Surcharge" summer...
  16. I know, it doesn't matter, BUT you are comparing an annual total of visitors against a daily total of residents of LA. the correct comparison would require you to multiply your 20 by 365 so it would be 7300 compared to 480. Duning is dangerous, education through this type of websight is invaluable when it comes to dune safety. Read, learn, teach, apply what you learn and always assume the "other guy" knows absolutly nothing...
  17. Have a slammed March, next trip april 3-6. We love going out april, early - mid May and even early June if some "June Gloom" sets in. Mid-day trips to the water with ez-up chairs and are a blast!
  18. ^^^Yep if you have a choice stay away from the ron davis' they definately tend to leak on the corners...$$$
  19. I carry 20 or so extra whips, that way they are still visible while leaving more room on ridge to pass. Kids are not allowed near top of hill without an adult, someone runs them over we just put them back up no harm no foul. Every once in a while a few end up missing in the night, who cares... If they give one wreckless person over the years enough warning not to end up in our camp @ a high rate of speed they have served their purpose. We also leave it open to pass near the base of the dune, no problems just be respectful with speed. Pretty simple really, be respectful as our camp would, cool, come racing through camp and we will have to talk... :eatdrink021:
  20. Pismo is cool if you want to camp on the beach, duning there sucks. St. Anthony's has my vote for THE summer destinsation if you want to dune!!!
  21. Good guy, good driver, makes some bitchen headers too!
  22. Could have been worse, got back from Hawaii sat am and found my moho looking like this...F-in Vandals...
