  1. Here's a few recent pics of mine, almost done in these pics. Old school beam, mid travel front. I made the hood, dash, inside door panels, wing, firewall, and the front bulkhead panel. I broke my back, and it's healed well. Takes a long time at my age to heal haha edit to add: I guess I don't know how to post pics on this new format.
  2. You should have a ground wire for the sensors, should be at the bottom of the tank. If you jumper from each one of the sensors to the ground, it should light up inside on the monitor panel. If it doesn't light up, you've got a wiring problem, since you said you swapped out the monitor panel. I just have to ask, did you hook up the wires on the back of the panel back to original positions? If you have a long enough jumper wire, you could check continuity of the wires from the tank to the panel. That can be a real pain tho. I wish I was closer, we would have this fixed in a couple hours. Attack it in a logical manner, no offense is intended by that either. Find where you have power, and where it stops. It's kinda like a pipe that is at a 45 degree angle, you know you have water at the top, but there is none at the bottom, find the leak, and you'll fix the problem... edit to add: Clean the sensors, not the wires. To clean the sensors there is a few different ways: a few bags of ice down the toilet and drive around for a while. You can also use a chemical inside the tank. so cleaning the wires was not really what I was suggesting. I think you've got a wire problem now. debtanker@msn.com is my email, and I get it on my phone too, so that's a quick way to get in touch
  3. I used to work on RV's for a living at Beaydary RV, here in Tucson. You can test the wires that go to each sensor position to see if it's the sensors, or the monitor panel. If it turns out to be the sensors, once they get to the point your talking about, they're done. You can buy new sensors for fairly cheap. Find where yours are, and how many. When you have the new ones, drill the proper sized hole about 3-4 inches to the left or right of the factory ones, and install them by the instructions. After they're all installed, transfer each wire, one at a time to avoid confusion, to the new ones.
  4. I just bought a Painless wiring kit for extreme duty, offroad. It has 10 circuits and 4 relays. I got K4 switches from a local hot rod shop.
  5. Not for sale. Taken off the market. Thanks, please remove this
  6. Here's mine when I went to look at it, and buy a few days later. It's taken apart now for some finishing touches that the previous owner didn't have time to do.
  7. Bump............I would really like to buy a 63-67 Corvette.
  8. No kidding? make an offer? it's taking up room in the garage that I need..........I'm still not gonna give it away, but tell me something. BBTank
  9. Don't forget that there is a piece of paper in this country that gives us the right to arm ourselves. That piece of paper makes no mention of any kind of CCW or paid training that is required, or any of the many other money schemes that local and state gubments burden us with. I'm retired USAF, and an expert marksman, I'm not paying some 20 something to "teach" me how to operate MY firearm. I try to be an informed citizen, as informed as I can be. We, the people of the United States have forgotten the core values that this country was built on. I would suggest that everybody reads the US Constitution and The Bill of Rights annually. You might be surprized, especially if you're a 20 something, or even some of the 30 somethings, these days. That kind of "learning" is not taught in schools these days. I hope that nobody takes offense to my post, it's how I feel as a very patriotic American. BBTank
  10. I have had the X for just over a week, right now. I really like it. I would suggest that you D/L the App killer free app. It shuts down all the apps you want to. My battery lasts all day and until lunch the next day. I'm a light to light-moderate user. BBTank
  11. That's a really good tip. Unfortunately, it's wired outside the frame. I plan on doing the rewire and going inside the frame. I had already thought of using some safety wire in the channels for the wire, it's true what they say, great minds think alike. OK, I just want to be thought of as just barely smart.
  12. To be honest, the turning brakes are not an issue at this point. I've had the car out, where we've been, and it needs the cutting brakes, nuff said, they're in. I'm grinding the welds from the old shifter and brake location getting ready for the new Jamar shifter, and the cutting brakes. I still have to pull the tranny for repair. That's gotta happen too. I'm gonna be so close, I just can't see NOT doing it now. It would appear that it will be coming apart to repowdercoat the frame, and the new additions/modifications. Pics will follow as they happen! BBTank
  13. Congratulations, nice pad. We had our house, now, built in 98, and we still love it. Be ready for the $$ to roll in the house for everything you want to do. Just in the back yard, and it's small, I have a heart attack every time I even start to add up what we've done. It doesn't take long for it to add up. I guess my point would be, it's a fun, rough, agrevating journey you're gonna take, but, It's gonna be soooooo worth it. Our house is still our favorite place to hang out. Dig my home owner brother, BBTank
  14. They did move it, I wasn't thinking. I'm gonna plead blonde and senior. This car needs turning brakes where I go sometimes, in the desert. I'm still getting the car set up for the way I drive it. Thanks SANDAWG
  15. That's what I thought too, but I just wanted to make sure I'm not "just justifying it" because I'm 1/3 of the way there right now. I think I 'm gonna do it. We'll both be happier when we take it out to play. I mean, it'll feel like a completed car, not some POS off the shelf for the weekend. I'm never indecisive, for more than............. BBtank
  16. Looks good. I poped my 091 the last time out. I also broke my back in a friends car after my car broke. Pretty good week in the dunes, if ya ask me BBtank
  17. Im having an old friend make some inside "door panels" for my new to me sand buggy. He needed the seats out, so out they came. The last time out, I heard something "pop" in the transmission at the top of comp hill, and kinda made a grindy noise. I have to take the trans out with the motor as well. I'm putting in a cutting brake, and making a new dash and console so I can reach ALL the switches while I'm strapped in too. Here's my question.....you know how much I've taken out, and what all has to come out, and how much is left bolted on the car. Should I just rip it all off and re-powder coat the frame and make it look like new (which it really is)???????? I'm going to replace all the brake lines due to the cutting brake, along with the clutch hydraulic line. I plan on mounting the cutting brakes behind the dash with slots for the handles above the shifter. All the gauges, in-car communication, switches can all go there too. Post up your dash pics too, please!! I mean, am I relying on the old "since I'm doing.." syndrome, or does it really make good sense to go ahead and do it now? I think I have the $1500 to sand blast and powder coat (back flourescent orange), but is this the time? Here's some pics if I can get them to load up....... BBTank
  18. I don't think he'll be fired either, but shoot high and be happy where it lands. And I'm glad you're an informed citizen. I think people went off the deep end about the SB1070, without even reading it.
  19. Thanks for posting that, interesting. Still working to fire those incompetent administrators. I am not trying to offend anyone, for any reason. If I do, it's not against the law to offend someone. We're just so damn used to being politically correct, we've forgotten real, true conversation. I haven't. I don't see this going away, anytime soon. It appears that the people of Morgan Hill are fed up with it. BBTank
  20. Thanks to all of your for your support on this post. I'm working on a letter right now. I'm working with the lawyers on Davis-Monthan AFB, right now. I'm doing this to ensure I don't put my butt in a jam I can't get out of. I would suggest that all of you that feel the same as I do write, call, email your elected officials and voice your opion. What happened at the school is a federal offense, plain and simple. I will say this, the kids should not be wearing a US flag facsimile on any garment of clothing. However, it was not a flag that was sewn onto an outer garmetn, there is a fine line. Hell, I ride a Harley-Davidson, and I have and wear a leather jacket with a flag on the back. And at almost 54 years old, you wanna try to take it off my back? Knock me down, you'd better keep me down.......and NEVER let me up, never. Thanks again to all of you, it makes a big a$$ difference that I'm in agreement with alot of folks outside my head. Sometimes I really doubt myself, until I take stock of who I am, and where I came from. Heart felt, Tank Thomas USAF, Ret.
  21. Thanks Runnin!!!! I just don't play about this kinda stuff. I'm the guy at the games and races that you see getting his a$$ kicked because 3 big ole boys wouldn't remove their hats during the National Anthem. Their hats were off while the music played. I had to self medicate for 2 days after, but by God them hats were off during my song. I'm a pretty big ole boy too, but only one of me. I ain't skeert!! I'm in a rage about this, and about to come apart at the seams over it. This is our damn country, and it's time we took it back, one A-hole at a time is my mission!!!!!
  22. Bingo, it won't happen, it can't happen. We as citizens in this country, need to read the constitution, and the bill of rights. If we all read those documents, Mr obama would be out of office. Don't come back with no sniveling until you've read it and then you'll know too. I can't do much by myself. Retired USAF Veteran. Service connected disablity, and well decorated Airman. BBTank
