  1. Clean water soaks into the ground and the "grey" in greywater stays at or near the surface, not much of a problem unless you are in a concentrated area with hundreds of people doing it.
  2. DISCUSSION ITEMS: Dumont Dunes Road/Water Crossing Mike Trost The new wider crossing is in and ready to use, The road will be getting a new layer of asphalt grindings from a road project this fall as well as a seal coat. Trash pick-up Lynnette Elser Inyo County Closure of Transfer Stations Gerry Heiller/Sam Merck These two are somewhat related, there has been an ongoing problem with people not secureing their trash and having it blow out on the way home as well as using the dumpsters in Tecopa that are there for the residents of Inyo Co. This year there will be a push to "Pack it in pack it out and pack it all the way home" Supplemental Rules Dan Briot There are some suplimentle rules that are being planned the ones that will affect Dumont are, No person shalplace upon or pound into the ground any non-flexible objects No dumping of grey water No camping incuding day camping in the Comp Hill Corridor and at Comp Hill 2008 Fee collection Terry Allen / Lynnette Elser You will need to get your passes before you get to the dunes this year, there may or may not be vendors selling them at the dunes, only week long passes will be avalible at the begining of the season but you will be credited what you spend towards an yearlong pass, so save your passes.
  3. On 11-17-07 the TRT will hold a Sat meeting at the BLM's Barstow field office. If there is poor attendance at this meeting it is highly unlikely that there will be another one.
  4. Duneraider, Thanks for the complements, but they need to be extended to Terry (ynot), Mike (wsky) and Rick. One of the reasons for the sucsess that we have had, has been the backing that we get from the users, without your suport we would not be as efective as we have been. ISBB I will continue to push for a TRT meeting on a Sat. :icon_twisted: B)
  5. First of there is no way that we could get a regulation passed that would bar people from the dunes based on there choice of hats that is just ridiculous. Second is that for law enforcement to do anything about a problem the LEO has to witness the infraction and feel it is serious enough to warrant action. :porn:
  6. A few more are, Always leave a space between camps so other people can get through. At comp hill stay in the traffic pattern (do not come down the race side), If you are leading a group lead at the slowest persons ability, NEVER let anyone push you to ride faster than your ability, Have some respect for the people camping around you keep the noise down from 10 pm to 7 am. B)
  7. Woody hit the nail right on the head. The calls you should be makeing are to the Ca.state lawmakers and ask them how they let the green sticker commision get over run with anti-access zellots. :smoker:
  8. I will be driving from Simi Valley and can take a couple of people, leaving at about 6:30 am B)
  9. If you ever need to stay awake to drive, find a talk radio station where the host of the show's views and ideas are as different from yours as possable. Do NOT listen to music, it will put you to sleep. Anger and rage are great for keeping you awake. This has worked for me more than once when I have had to drive across the country non-stop. New York to LA is a 54 hour drive straight thru in a Truck. B)
  10. It hauls butt and it looks great doing it, what more could you ask for. B)
  11. Dani, Do not let anyone else stop you from posting your opinions. Your opinions are valid no matter who disagrees with them, and it helps those of us that represent the users to know how the users feel. B)
  12. Some people on here are missing the point of what Vicki is trying to get. Make no mistakes about it there are going to be laws made about this, there are to many other infuential people that are calling for them, and we have the chance to help mold the laws to be more to our likeing. The other alternitive is to sit back and have someone else write the laws that they want. Pick the one you hate the least. B)
  13. Relax guys, everyone that said DDR got counted. When I ran out of room going down the page I started going across. :redhat: B)
  14. What do you expect the TRT to do about people lifting their trucks and SUVs? Or is it just GM products you disaprove of? :redhat: B)
  15. Pete, Thanks for opening up your camp to us, I never once felt like an outsider Mike, Good to hear that its not a trans. Its hard to dune fast when you can't see Terry, Thanks for pealing off and heading back to camp when you did TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT GAVE THEIR TIME AND ENERGY TO HELP FODD PULL OFF THE BEST CLEANUP YET, THANK YOU. B)
  16. The Dumont Dunes TRT will be meeting on 4-17-07 at the BLM Barstow Field Office at 10 am. The agenda has not been put out yet, but the final fee structure for next season will be the main topic. B) :chev_bowtie:
  17. One more thing to bring is if your going to be picking up trash on a quad bring an old dish/ hand towel that you can put over your tank to protect the paint/decals, just make sure that it does not get to close to your pipe B)
  18. Yes, That is how it was done :freakin_nuts: B)
  19. If DDR has people handing out tickets then they should not be able to win the most bags collected B)
  20. As the person who ran the dumpster end of the cleaup last year the best thing for DDR to do is have everyone bring their tickets to one person to be counted. If DDR is handing out the tickets and wins the most bags collected how many people will call foul. I was in charge of remote pick up stations at the Glamis Cleanup for 2 years, but Dumont is small enough that I don't think we need it, just my 2 cents. B)
  21. Bob, The TRT is made up of a cross section of people but nothing takes the place of the people that are directly impacted by it's actions. The dune users imput helps the members that do not use Dumont the way we do to see things from our point of view. B)
  22. To those of you that showed up THANK YOU You have helped us out even more than you know. Your showing up today opened some of the TRT's eyes that the users of Dumont Dunes really do care about what happens. B)
  23. Yes, we do realise that not everyone can attend the meetings. Comments can be sent to the Dumont Dunes TRT c/o Barstow Field Office 2601 Barstow Rd. Barstow, Ca 92311. Both Terry and Myself are TRT members and are active on this board and we do bring up items discussed here at the meetings. B)
  24. I will be driving from Simi Valley and can take 2 people 3 if their small. PM me if your intrested. B)
  25. I would tell then to NEVER let anyone push them into riding any faster than they feel safe :mc_smiley: :mc_smiley:
