It was our pleasure having you guys there!!
-
When the road is bad I go pretty slow cause I can hear every dish, pot, pan and other assorted things rattling around. No problem on the pass. Guys with trailers don't have to listen to the stuff so they don't know the damage that is being done. I will usually pull over and let others pass who are in a hutrry to get home. Let's me enjoy the last glimpses of the dunes just a little longer. Terry

Be worth a phone call to Johnny Walkers parts dept,. ask for Dusty and tell him what you need. He should know where you can get it or he can get it for you. Terry

I will have to contact BLM but we were in excess of 225 people that signed up. Filled both dumpsters about 3/4 full so even though the wind had blown a lot of the easy stuff to see away it took some hard work by the volunteers to find that much trash. Mostly firepit clean ups. Please let me remind everybody that "Corona" or any other glass bottles do not melt back to sand when left in a fire nor do nails tin cans, beer cans and other assorted manufactured items. Please pack out more than you pack in! My thanks to my registration volunteers who are like clockwork at 07:30 and wanting to get set up and start registering people. Thanks to Stacey, Cynthia(?) and Jodi and Ms. Dincolada for her help on the trailer handing all the prizes to her family members who won a lot of good prizes. We were done at 1:15 and Accuweather said it was going to rain at 2 and it started spitting right about that time. Thanks to ALL helped and turned out in crap weather to clean up the place. I cannot express my gratitude enough to my Board of Directors, my volunteers and the businesses who supported us with donations. IMHO I thought it went well but I do have to get the speaker system a little more "tuned" in. Next year we may be moving registration over to the BLM camp area to use that cover and pads. Again Thanks to all that came out and to those who supported the event. Terry

I have 2 Stacie and I think that should be enough. The weather report is actually looking a little better with winds between 11-15 MPH which is much better than yesterdays forecast. You can bring the EZ up if you have room and if the rain hits we might want to set it up to keep some folks dry. It's up to you if you have the room. Thanks, Terry

yes in the usual spot for registration. I asked for the dumpsters to be put about 100' off the road and about 200 ' from #6. So i will be near the dumpsters within a couple hundred feet.
-
Well it appears that most of my camping buds are not making the trip for various reasons. So since I am going out Friday morning I will just be camped between #6 and the first finger where we normally hold the registration for the event it makes it easier in the long run. This prevents me from having to move and so anybody looking for me that's where I will be. See you there. Terry

If you are using an Ipod or MP3 player you can buy wireless speakers that you can set or hang on an awning for a very reasonable price. They run off of AA batteries and work up to 150' away. We have a set that we use on the house patio and use Pandora on the laptop for the tunes. I got mine at this place. They put them on sale all the time.; http://forum.thingfling.com/yaf_postsm73732_AW826-Acoustic-Research-Wireless-LanternStyle-IndoorOutdoor-Speaker.aspx#post73732 Terry

Will do!!

We will be over by bathroom #6 between it and te finger dune. Near the dumpsters but far enough away from them to avoid the incoming vehicles, dust etc.

I think I will just move the M/H over to the site around 7:15 or so. Set up will be easy as everything will be in the trailer and if we can set up the EZ ups we will if the weather does not allow it we won't. So just come out and enjoy yourself. I think using the M/H and trailer as a wind block may be beneficial in the long run.
-
Mark i am thinking I may just move the motorhome and trailer over to the registration site to use it as a wind block. Everything is in the trailer anyway so it might make it easier and maybe keep the breeze to a minimum.
-
Mark, can I still use your truck if needs be?

I know that a lot of people are looking at the weather forecast for the clean-up weekend on Sat. the 17th. Yeah I would love to see nice calm sunny days forecast but truth is well it's a good possibility of some wind and rain. There it is, 10 years ago I went to my first clean up in the rain and wind and we were able to crowd all the participants under 2 EZ-ups. The event went off well for very little advertisement and notice that it was even occuring. We have grown since then! Here we are 10 years later and we may have a repeat weather forecast, however this event is not about how comfy you will be but it's about the cleaning up of an area that gives us a lot of pleasure. It's time to clean out the fire pits filled with burned glass, nails and all sorts of assorted junk that doesn't belong there, and the other areas that need a general sprucing up. Remember the land you save may well be our OWN I know it might be a little miserable but I am going to be there with a trailer load of pretty nice prizes for the brave lucky ones that win them. BLM will be there cooking food and if you like a little sand on your hot dog well you might be a very happy camper:) Bottom line I know it's expensive to come out but you know the weather report is not always right and we are doing it for the joy of all of us getting together in one place picking up some trash, enjoying each others company and interacting with BLM and the people who manage the dunes. I can't think of any reason to stay home and not come out, CAN YOU? Hope to see you all out there! Terry

we can give it a try as long as it's safe. I don't think I want to decapitate anyone.
-
Andy i would appreciate it very much. Could you bring it over to the registration booth by about 9AM?
-
Christina, we will always find you and we only go as fast as the slowest rider can go. However if your really really slow we will put you with the Sherrifs kid's ATV class to brush up on your skils! LOL
-
Just cause I don't have my car does not mean I drive like a girl, man why you gotta hate on me in a public forum, it hurt's my manly pride. LOL I will go for a SXS ride but no guarantees on "Girly". I lead with the RZR at as fast as the little bugger will go. It's a pretty good quas ride from what i heard.

Anybody have a flat bed trailer they are bringing out for the clean up and would be able to let us use it for 2-3 hours?

Pete I owe you for a large so I can pick it up anytime. If you need me to come by the shop I can do that on friday.
