  1. I think paddles would help a ton since its 2wd. With out them I don't think you would be able to climb any hills very good. I also don't think you would be able to dune with a group of sand rails paddles or not. I could be wrong?? Sure be fun hauling a$$ through the woops and climbing the hills and jumping though. I vote paddles! Sick truck. Are those tires in the pic 35"? I would think a 33" Paddle would work good and look ok. Get the shorter paddles so you get some tire spin.
  2. That works. I do believe the farther away the BOV the more of a chance the compressor wheel can be stressed out or have a chance to slow down or stop. Especially when on the other side of the IC. No matter where you put the BOV its going to help and it will stop the comp wheel from barking and that's its main purpose. Cant wait to see it!
  3. I need to hurry and get my skid plate on, get my 16.50 paddles mounted and get my new light wired up! Plus load the toy hauler LOL
  4. I started a new thread here http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=19666 I wanted something fresh since the topic is talking about going to Dumont in Sept and we are now in Oct, plus this way any new members or lurkers will see we are all going Oct 4/5 now. Thanks
  5. As a lot of you know there are several people heading out to Dumont this weekend! Im not hauling Petes car any longer, he had something come up, so ill be leaving Sat morning with the family and the toy hauler! We will have a fire and ill be sipping the shine Sat night As of now I know that Mike and Adam from GTP off road will be there with SXS's and some 4 wheelers, Rees with his car, Tim with his car, Terry with his car, Fasttony with his car, Jim with his car, Myself with my car. I think there are a few more i'm missing but not sure.. this will be a great weekend! If your going post up!
  6. As of now im leaving Sat morning and taking the family. We have room in the toy hauler if you want to crash in it, no problem, let me know. Its also nice enough to tent it if you have a tent. More then welcome to use the shower too. Whatever you want to do im cool with.
  7. Do you need a trailer? Talk Pete into going and you guys can borrow my 30ft trailer and haul both your cars out. I have a 20ft trailer too. Since Pete told me he wasn't going to go and I figured I wasn't going to haul another car so I decided to throw my car in the toy hauler and take the family. Ill head out Saturday morning. If you guys need a trailer let me know.
  8. I have always put them on the hot side of the IC closest to the turbo possible. I was told long ago and believe that would get the pressure off the turbo compressor wheel the fastest for protection.
  9. Since i'm not hauling Petes car I will probably put mine in the toy hauler and leave Sat some time!
  10. Thanks for the hit. I found a set local, picking them up today!
  11. I'm out man. Car still needs a few things and I don't want to be up till midnight getting it ready. See you all next weekend!
  12. Looking for 15.50 or 16.00 or 16.50 x 15 paddles 33" tall. Cash in hand no BS 970-769-1679
  13. I think that's me?? Lol If a couple other cars want to go I'll load up and go tomorrow morning. I would feel more comfortable with 3-4 cars going instead of just two. Post up!
  14. Not sure yet, I might go out tomorrow if anyone else wants to go for a few hours
  15. Looks like the Oct 4-5 weekend is going to be HOT 99* so i'm thinking we will meet very early again Sunday morning and leave the Blue Diamond & Charleston gas station at 4:30am like we did last time. Be done around 11-12pm load up and head back to Vegas. Thinking about a possible pool and BBQ "after party" at my casa if anyone wants to come.
  16. Saturday sunny and 81* degrees Sunday sunny and 80* degrees Damn! Looks like Oct 4-5 is going to be 99* degrees Sh*t this weekend would be the ticket
  17. Awesome write up and the rail looks killer with the sand tires. Nice trailer too! I'm sure ill see you out there! Come out for the Oct 5th day trip if you can make it. See ya
  18. I wanted to share this with all DDR members. Insurance coverage on a rail or sxs is super important and there is a local company here in vegas who can insure your off road rig no hassles and good price. Pete turned me onto these guys and so far they have been great. Im even moving all my autos, trailers, home, life and business coverage over to them right now. Just for a example I insured my 2008 RFR Sand Rail LS1 motor for $28,000 full coverage for $585 a year. It would roughly be $55 a month with payments but I opted to do the half up front and will pay the other half in 6 Mos. Mike Seifer & Assoc 702-270-4500 Henderson NV 89052
  19. Glad you all made it safe. When we took the rails out a month ago for the summer time DDR run I launched off a 8ft wall and it didn't feel very good. We were there at 5am and the shadows were really playing tricks on us. Night time duning is the worst, no matter how awesome of lights you have or how many there are always shadows. I think were going out again Oct 5th for a early morning run or two.
