dunefreak Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Looks like there was a guy giving helicopter tours out at Dumont over Halloween weekend. Pretty cool. That might explain why there was a helicopter flying the same pattern over and over all weekend. This guy posted a video of his ride on our FB page. Here it is... <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PbjqnxRrbYg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Quote
lvnalolife Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Yeah, we were gonna do it but when we went over the line was hella long and we wouldn't have gotten on until after dark. Looked cool. Worth the $20 ea for the 4-5 min loop around the dunes. Quote
mineurbiz Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I don't know this for fact, but someone said he made a low pass over comp and got sideways, wonder what the pucker factor is on that one? Quote
Jakster884 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 I would take a quick tour for a few bucks. looks like fun. Never rode in a copter before. Quote
19th_AT Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Let me be the first to say that aviation and sand dont mix. I wouldnt be caught up in that thing unless I saw his FDB and complete maintainence records. Or maybe thats just the military side of me coming back out again ...LOL anyways I pass. Quote
EY3BA11 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Not the military side of you. I wouldn't get in it. And I'm wondering if he is doing it legit? Commercial license? Vendor permit? So in and so forth. sent from your mom's phone Quote
vegas style Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 its the same type heli i took in oregon it was fun. but we didnt fly out of the sand we used a parking lot outside of the dunes Quote
turbo_bruce Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 i did it it was a blast if you look in the vid iam the razor next to the rhino at the landing. man it was fun . Quote
BLUE STEEL Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Kitcat and I didn't go for a ride in the heli, but we had some of our peeps at camp go. They said it was a blast and can't wait to do it again. Quote
Sandfrk33 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I posted the vid on FB. Definately worth the $20. The dunes look alot smaller from above them. I think they started flying lower to comp on the next day. Saw them do it a few times. I had a blast Quote
