I HATED coming home, reeking of smoke, yellow stains on my work shirt. I could only imagine what it was doing to my lungs. now a few years after the ban, I love being able to enjoy a nice meal out once in awhile, with no smoke, as well as afew drinks without people training cigs all around me. just my 02 Quote

Last night I heard some lady interviewed on the news in a bar say that it is HER American right to be able to sit at a bar and smoke and gamble and also have a snack (something to eat) at the same time. What about the non-smokers' rights? If I want to sit at a bar and do the same but non cause lung cancer to myself shouldn't that be my right too? If I want to destroy my liver and sit there drinking my a$$ off :redhat: :redhat: then that's my choice. It does no harm to anyone around me like 2nd hand smoke does. :redhat: Why can't people just go smoke outside if they want to have a smoke? If I am eating, I personally don't want to eat and breathe in somebody else's nasty a$$ smoke at the same time. :redhat: As I understand it, bar owners are thinking of getting rid of the FOOD instead of the smokers. I always love goin to cali and not having to worry about sitting in a resturant with someones smoke getting to me. I think its a good thing. I do hate to see people loose their jobs over this, but thats really on the bars that are choosing smokers over their food servers. I think its been a long time coming!! Quote

Gaming is why bars are around for people to enjoy. If smoking is banned in bars, then smokers will go to casinos (because there is an exception for casinos....that's crap) and bars will close their doors. Quote

Having grown up in california it doesnt bother me one way or the other they will just have to add a smokers lounge... but look at it this way... If you cant drink and have a smoke at the bar while playing the machine which is what ALOT of people do and where ALOT of nevadas revenue comes from why keep the food. Quote

Don29palms Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I have mixed feelings about this issue. I live in California so there's not really anything I can do about it. I am also a non-smoker. It's nice to be able to be inside a bar that is not all smoky. Most of the bars around here have made nice little outside patio areas for the smokers. On the other hand I would say that most of the people that frequent bars also smoke. It makes it hard on the bar owners to make everyone happy. Quote
