double-E Dave Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Yeah...I can see that you had fun. That looks like it would hurt coming down. Nice pics. Yeah, it hurt. It broke one of the passenger seat brackets. Here's some pics of the landing. Quote
wingnut Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Thats sweet!!! Gotta love a beam car airing it out like that!!!!! I remember those days!!!! Quote
SandBox_Kid Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 (edited) Yeah, it hurt. It broke one of the passenger seat brackets. I did the same thing my first time at Amargosa....the 3rd time out with the rail. Note to self:DON'T LEAVE YOUR WALLET IN YOUR BACK POCKET.....I had a nice square shaped bruise on my A$$ and cracked the engine case right where it mounts to the top of the tranny!! It's all good though....I put a tranny strap on and welded some brackets for support. FYI - I'm not convinced that the aluminum case is stronger than the magnesium....anyone know if it's supposed to be? Edited March 27, 2006 by cmyfirepole Quote
Don29palms Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Magnesium was banned because of it's ability to catch on fire. They used to make wheels out of magnesium hence the name mag wheels. The problem was if you had a blow out and the rim hit the ground and made a spark it would catch on fire and the car would burn up. Magnesium is difficult to put out. Quote
dunefreak Posted April 11, 2006 Author Posted April 11, 2006 Here is a pick from pres day. Sweet! Nice car and nice pic! Welcome to DDR Quote
