Top fuel flames at night....priceless. :poop_hittin_the_fan: Anyone else going? Usually we bring out the hauler and camp all weekend. Its some good times, but I don't think funds will allow for that this year with all these other trips I have planned. Here is the schedule for those that might be going.... Thursday, April 10 7:30 a.m. - Spectator gates open. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. - Registration and tech inspection opens (all categories). 9 a.m. - Sportsman qualifying. 4 p.m. - Comp Eliminator qualifying session. 6 p.m. - Track closed. 6:30-7:30 p.m. - Free NHRA autograph session at The Palms Resort Casino (4321 W. Flamingo Rd.) Friday, April 11 7:30 a.m. - Spectator gates open. 7:30 a.m.-Noon - Final registration and tech inspection (pro teams, Top Alcohol teams and Comp only). 8 a.m. - Sportsman eliminations. 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - Two Comp Eliminator qualifying sessions. 1 p.m. - Pro Stock qualifying. 1:30 p.m. - Top Fuel Dragster, Funny Car qualifying. 2:30 p.m. - Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car qualifying. 4 p.m. - Pro Stock qualifying. 4:30 p.m. - Top Fuel Dragster, Funny Car qualifying. 5:30 p.m. - Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car qualifying. 6:30 p.m. - Track closed. Saturday, April 12 7:30 a.m. - Spectator gates open. 8 a.m. - Sportsman eliminations. 9:45 a.m. - First round of Comp eliminations. 10:15 a.m. - Sportsman eliminations continue. 11:30 a.m. - Second round of Comp eliminations. Noon - Pro Stock qualifying. 12:30 p.m. - Top Fuel Dragster, Funny Car qualifying. 1:30 p.m. - Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car qualifying. 3 p.m. - Pro Stock qualifying. 3:30 p.m. - Top Fuel Dragster, Funny Car qualifying. 4:30 p.m. - Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car qualifying. 6:30 p.m. - Track closed; Short-track stock car racing at the Bullring, featuring NHRA drivers in Thunder Roadsters. Sunday, April 13 7:30 a.m. - Spectator gates open. 10 a.m. - Pre-race ceremonies. 11 a.m. - Final eliminations. 4:30 p.m. - Track closed. bp-guy Posted April 9, 2008 Share Posted April 9, 2008 If any of you have connections with a Mac tool vendor you can call their headquarters and get All-Access passes for about $80. I did that last year at Pomona and had a blast! We went on a Friday and no-one was there but us in the pits. We got a tour of the big-rigs and all the stuff they bring. Multible engines and anything else that might break is in those things. I was litterally standing 3 feet from the driver when they fire off the motor in the pits. Plus they had those big fans blowing the exhaust into the spectators so I didn't breath that stuff. It's catered as well and I had lunch with Chip Foose. I was given some throw away parts to bring home as well. I got a connecting rod,blower belt and clutch disc. I was hardly ever at the track, I was busy talking to the mechanics and watching them work. I highly recommend this if you can afford it.
