I heard from a guy who heard from a guy that another guy put something together out at Dumont. “Veterans hill”. For those curious. There is a new destination at Dumont dunes dedicated to the men and women who selflessly served our country and those who never made it home. Nobody really knows who’s responsible but rumor is they are part of our great nations warriors as well as big influences in the community both on and off road , they have promised to make veterans hill a worthwhile travel destination within the dunes. The location is undisclosed but it’s said that “you’ll know it when you see it”. Have also been told there’s a fantastic large dune with many small dunes surrounding the area making for a great spot to have fun.

Looks like it was a blast, we're headn out thur. a.m. for the first trip. Bringing candy out for kids that didnt make it last weekend.

Man, what a weekend. This Halloween was a really good time. I loved the warm weather. Nothing better than duning in shorts & a t-shirt! The dunes were great and everyone out there seemed to be very aware of each other playing it safe. We got a few good rips through the dunes, did some camp hoppin, and had plenty of partying at night. It was great seeing everyone. It felt like the good ole days running into so many friends. The new swingset seemed to be a big hit. Props to the guys that put it up. Speaking of props....way to go on the haunted house, guys! That was impressive. We went through twice and hung out for a bit over there. Comp was lit as usual with the dance party.

Wow, where do we start? Arrived on Wednesday afternoon. First one in our camp. Went for a couple rides. People were coming in at a pretty high rate for a Wednesday. Went for a night cruise to the N.P. The dunes changed quite a bit so we took the north route and took the trail. Didn't know where the new witches eyes were ect. Thurs most people in our camp arrived including John and his son who we met here when he was looking for a camp. John and family were nice and were liked by all. Johns son, about 8, has a quad and is a really good rider. By Friday I noticed A LOT of people were coming in and there were occasional lines waiting to get in at 2:00 am! Saturday morning I looked around. Attendance was very good this year. Saturday night at comp... wow. A pretty good turnout would be an understatement. How did things go for you? Your view on the turnout? Dune conditions? Favorite rides? New Veterans Memorial? Mishaps?

I didn't make it down there again to see if yelling "swingers party Friday night!!" worked or not. haha

I've had them ask where it originated from. They've had no problems with "store bought" bundles.

I heard and saw some very good feedback about the swingset last weekend while we was out there. Whoever put it up did a good job. It made for a fun stop before heading back to camp or as a destination of it's own.

I was stopped on President's Day 2019. The inspector looked at the wood carefully and even pulled a piece out🧐. He eventually said to carry on. I didn't ask what he was looking for, but my firewood was pre-scorched. Probably from a forest fire in Utah. Maybe he was looking for an invasive species like the bark beetle....

For as many ppl that were at comp sat night, there didn't seem to be as much action on the hill....maybe a good thing. Sucks the wind had to come a little early, caught folks a bit off guard and trash was everywhere sunday. Great trip overall for me....took forever to get here then poof, over in what seemed like an instant. Big shout out to the haunted house folks, seemed bigger this year too. We left Monday....minus the trash the dunes were amazing, so smooth. Should be a good weekend coming up for those that are going.

A couple of us will be there this weekend. 👍

This past weekend was the official holiday Halloween weekend for Dumont. You might see a bunch of people that chose to go on an "off weekend" this weekend.

It's pretty cool. NO I'm not going to give coordinates! Part of the fun is in the finding of it. It's even nicely lit up at night.
