The combination of fog and smoke musta made it really hard to see. The same thing happens all the time on the 5 & 99 freeways in the central valley. Fog plus speed equals problems. Slow down, put down the cell phone, stop applying make-up, eat before you leave the house, quit shaving, (it grosses us all out anyway ) do not prepare your double mocha mocha latte frappe, stop reading the paper / map / novel / magazine, get dressed prior to driving. leave the kid in the back seat alone, stop rummaging through the center console, (has anyone ever found what they were looking for in the center console anyway?) and maybe we can prevent some of these meat grinder pile-ups!!!!!

Go for the bike, a non-lifted truck will still haul the bike around!!!!!

None of this sounds very promising to me. Over the years different areas designated as open or public lands have been closed due to ESA BS. If these species exist at a now closed area, IE: Ibex or Coyote Hole, then why are other areas targeted. Aren't there already closures in effect that will help proliferate these "endangered" species?????? The "Wilderness "area north of Hwy 78 at ISDSRA was closed during the 70's. Approx 1/3 of the dunes. I find it hard to believe that a 2 lane ribbon of asphalt can stop the migration of fuana and flora. The same species that live north of the 78 also exist south of it. If that asphalt road is so effective at stopping the migration of species....we should pave a road along our southern border. Musta been my buddies kid. Did about the same thing. Shows up with all his friends, with copious amounts of beer, gets stuck instantly off Gecko Road, The LEO's come to "help", find all under age, confiscate all the adult beverages and kick them all out. Did u ever think it was placed on the back porch so it was out of site so it wasn't stolen? You would have been just as pissed if it was left on the front porch and it got ripped off. A good option is little Dumont just before the main enterance as you come north from the 15. Good hardpack area to camp. Great little dunes to learn in. Also, not very far from the main riding area and or vendors. Welcome to DDR. Damn Nick, beat me to the punch again...Fat Guys Rule :dance:

Flickwhip with a Stiffy big bore flag and mount. I have not broken one since going to this set-up. It bolts to the left rear seat mount and about 5 inches back thru the fender. Solid billet, and it keeps the flag off the swing arm!
