  1. My only comment/addition to this rant: This past weekend we were camped near #9 and saw mostly ADULTS driving their rails like "jerks" and behaving like they were 13 years old. I did see the LEOs pull 3 of them over on Saturday morning, promptly thanked the LEOs for being there (Dumont not just near our camp). Shooting them with live amo might not be legal, but how about frozen/chilled paint-balls?
  2. I know that when I connect to a Cox cable modem setup I have to change my SMTP server to smtp.west.cox.net to be able to send email. My POP server stays the same, pop.{my_domain}.com.
  3. What are your SMTP, POP and username settings? What error is it giving you?
  4. Best wishes and prayers! There is nothing worse for a parent that to see their child suffer...
  5. There is a guy in Pahrump that has his "Venom" dirt car registered. Next time I see him, I see him about once a week, I'll ask what the process was that he went through and post up. I know he added turn signals, marker lights and a horn, the rest of it is stock.
  6. Ash, I applaud you and your family for stepping up and helping another in their time of need. That goes to show your, and your family's, true character. What I don't get is what is the difference between New Orleans and the state of Iowa? We heard tons of news about all the looting and damage done to New Orleans by Katrina, but how much did we hear about the flood damage in Iowa? Is it because there was less damage in Iowa than in New Orleans? Nope, it was the media's desire for ratings and sales - sensationalism sells. For those not familiar with the Iowa flooding damage here is a link to one of many sites put up by the state and people of Iowa to help themselves. The key difference, in my opinion, is that the people of Iowa decided to step up and say "how can we get ourselves out of this mess?" As opposed to "how is the government going to get us out of this?" There were no reports of mass looting in Iowa, compared to New Orleans. There were no reports of people attacking others in shelters, no reports of vandalism. I'm not saying it didn't happen anywhere in Iowa, I'm sure there were some incidents, but not nearly to the scale that happened in New Orleans. I know you're tired of reading this so I'll get off my soapbox Again Ash, I stand up and applaud you and your family for stepping up and making a difference. It's people like you that make this country a great place to live.
  7. You don't need a new map just because the altitude you're at changes. The only time you would need a new map is if you change the configuration on the quad, change exhaust/intake/compression/porting etc.
  8. You only need to change the outbound or SMTP server. In an effort to deter spammers Cox blocks all external SMTP servers for residential accounts commercial accounts are not blocked.
  9. You don't need to go to a SoHo account or get a static IP address. You can use a service like http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/ to keep track of the dynamic IP address and have a easier to remember url.
  10. You can use Remote Desktop, built-in, or a third part application. For a third part application I prefer VNC, free and you can use a standard web browser as the client.
  11. If the pistons are forged, can't remember if all Kieth Black ones are or not, you could add a 100-150 shot of NOS to it for that extra little kick with the 3.73's it'll help off the line, but those are great freeway/cruise gears. On the 700R4, did you wire in a switch to handle the OD or is it an older model that didn't have that solenoid?
  12. Didn't feel a thing out in Pahrump and from talking to my parents, in Diamond Bar, no major damage there.
  13. Continuing the off-topic issue. I stopped at a Checker yesterday to pick up a fuel filter, the BLEEP BLEEP counter guy started speaking to me in BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP spanish!! My response word for word "THIS IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, SPEAK ENGLISH OR GO THE F**K HOME" and walked out. Took my business over to NAPA. I think I have a right to get a little pissy about this whole issue, considering my parents LEGALY emigrated to the country in 1980. We all learned english as a second language BEFORE we came to the states, hell I still can't to this day write or read in Hindi (language spoken mostly in India) never could. We as a nation need to stop catering to the emigrants. They want to be here because of the opportunities available, let them AT THE LEAST show some effort and LEARN the language spoken and understood by the majority. <gets off of his soapbox> Pete, that's a nice truck. What all is done to the motor/trans? Steve, SU's are not that hard to setup if you have a carb sync tool.

  20. Before I go out and buy a set what is the general feeling on these? Are they worth the money?
  21. I got the "sports pack" it comes with a controller for $10 more than the price of a controller alone, and buy the nunchuck. Based on how fast kids get tired of games I signed up with GameFly, similar to NetFlix, at $10 a month it's a nice way to keep the kids entertained and if they like the game enough you can buy it...saves a few $$ in the long term...
  22. To second everyone else, get the Wii. Got it for my kids (10 and 7) and they love it. It's a very interactive system and has replaced the number one slot that the PS3/XBox 360 use to contend over.
  23. I think diesel dynamics is setup to do the job. If they don't then they will definitely know who is. Don't have their number but their website is at http://www.dieseldynamics.com/
  24. If it's a small network and you're thinking of going the Exchange route, take a look at Micro$oft's Small Business Server - I've installed quite a few of them and they've stood the test of time for small business needs.
